Kiara looked up at the bright blue sky as she lay in the soft grass of the lake's shore. "So what are we going to do if those bird people come back? We won't be able to escape as easily, you know. The plains don't exactly have many places to hide. she said dully to no one in particular.

Killer snorted a little. "What am i, chopped liver? I can take them. I won't let anything happen to you." He answered.

Kiara rolled her eyes and sat up. She pulled a handfull of grass from the ground and threw it at Killer. "Why is it that you have an ego as big as you're dragon form?" she said with a smirk on her face. "Besides, it's not me or Ashie that we're protecting. It's the Anara Rose. Don't ever forget it." Kiara said sternly before laying back down in the grass.

Killer smiled and brushed the grass away before sitting up. "I know that, but if something does happen to you, the rose is as good as theirs. You were chosen to protect it for a reason Kiara. I will help protect the rose, but i will also protect you two."

Ashie shook the water out of her fur and turned into a giant puff ball. She ran her paw through her hair several times patting it down. "Ashie doesn't think that we have to be the only ones to protect it. Ashie thinks we should find people we can trust and ask for help if we need to." Rummaging around in her bag, Ashie pulled out the rose. "And if worse comes to worse, we could always move to the mines to the north-west and hide a gem rose in a gem mine."

Killer nodded. "Yeah. We still must be careful." Killer stood up and stretched. He wanted to get going but he waited for Kiara and Ashie to be ready.

Killer turned to Kiara. "Hey Kiara, can you come with me? I need to talk to you." He walked towards a group of trees and turned to see if she was going to follow.

Kiara stood up and began to follow Killer before turning to Ashie, saying "Ashie, can you guard the Rose until I come back?" she said to her friend before turning and following Killer into the trees. She placed her hand on her sword uncertainly, before stepping into the shadows of the leafy branches. "What is it Killer?" she asked.

Killer stopped and turned to her. "I just need to tell you something." He sighed and tried to figure out how to say what he wanted to. It was harder than he thought.

Kiara nodded uncertainly. She wasn't quite sure what to expect. Information about the Rose that the fairies didn't tell me? Probably not. An ambush? Maybe, but he seems so nice. A confession? Kiara's head began spinning at the thought, but she cleared the idea away and waited for Killer to say something, gripping the hilt of her sword tightly to vent her uncertainty.

Killer crossed his arms and thought for a minute. He was normally able to say what was on his mind with ease, but he was having trouble with his thoughts. He cleared his throat and looked back at her. "Well, in the short time i've been with you and Ashie, i have come to...care greatly for you."

Kiara smiled happily at Killer. She had never expected this kind of development when she had agreed to guard the Rose all those years ago. Killer was supposed to be her enemy, yet she felt glad that it didn't have to be that way. One less opponent to guard the Rose from. I'm glad he cares for Ashie and myself so much! "I'm glad. Ashie and I have gained another friend. It's good to know that I don't have to fight you." she said joyfully, still smiling.
((Kiara's a bit dense when it comes to stuff like this. She hasn't been around more than one person for years. Be strong Killer! xp ))

Killer sighed and crossed his arms. "I think you misunderstood me. What i mean is that i've, well, developed feelings for you." He smiled sheepishly, hoping she'd understand this time.

Kiara became a bit confused. "Yeah, I know. Otherwise we would be fighting for the Rose right now and this would be an ambush. Right?" she said, shaking off her confusion in an insatant.

Killer sighed and rubbed his eyes irratated. He couldn't beleive it was taking her so long to get what he was saying. "Ok, i'm just going to say it. I like you...a lot. Like, more than friends you know?" He said again, seriously hoping she got that.
