Amme jumped at first when she heard the knocking but smiled when she realized it was Atem. Even though she could see, she still had keen senses. She could tell her was outside the door. She walked to the door and opened it. She smiled again seeing her senses still did not fail her. "Ok, I'm ready," she said but then remembered something, "wait hold on." She turned back and searched for something. It was an umbrella she had received a long time ago but never really used. She would bring it with her to further cover herself from anyone nosy enough to see if it was her or not. "Ok, now I'm ready," she said. Bakura dunked himself under water and stayed there for a moment or so. He then came back up and rung the water from his hair. He was done, he felt a lot better now. He got up and out. He started to dry himself as he looked at himself in the mirror. He grazed his fingers around his own scar that laid underneath his eye. With a 'humph' he turned away and finished up. He got into his black short with a white cloth over it. He did not bother with his robe. However, he did put on a necklace with two scarabs on it [[ pic here ]]. He then left the room and walked into his room.
He saw that the curtain was drawn for Eros but did not know why. Since he lack consideration and personal space he did not bother to ask her if it was ok to enter since he was so curious. He opened up the curtain to see Eros making a knife carve into her skin. He froze for a moment, feeling his emotions pull from one to the other. He then grabbed the knife away and threw it down. Quickly after that, he slapped the scroll out of her hand. He was angry, so very angry. And he could only understand part of why he was. "What the hell is wrong with you!?" he yelled at her. It was the only thing that he could comprehend to form into a sentence. He simply did not like seeing her mutilate herself, something upset and angered him when he saw it.

Eros Winced slightly as she dropped the mouthpiece "everything I suppose. I've stopped caring what people thought of it so many years ago. Be mad at me all you want but it's the way I am. I...do it to make myself stronger so I can protect myself and you." she snatched the dagger back and glared at him. her eyes swirled with emotional pain and deep inner loneliness. "some pain is better to feel that other. nothing can make me forget so i drown it out." she hissed before turning her back to him and laid on her side. for the first time in many years tears filled her eyes. all those years of holding in her emotions and now...now they began to slowly trickle out of her eyes.
Atem smiled and held out his hand "ready to have fun amme?" he whispered in a hushed voice. as excitement of actually sneaking out welled up inside of him. he was ready and finally understood why his sister use to do it.

Amee nodded her head happily and grabbed onto his arm ready for him to lead the way. Even though her sight was a great gift, she was a bit sad that there was no reason to hold his hand anymore. She followed him to an area that lacked guards. "Now what?" she asked.
Bakura narrowed his eyes at her as she explained. He could see the pain in her eyes but at the moment he didn't care. He was too enraged by her self mutilation. Even if she did it to make her stronger, to protect herself and him, he didn't want her doing it. Even someone who was so fascinated by gaining more and more power did not wish her to hurt herself. It struck him in a way he's never experienced. He's watched men fall at his feet, falling sloppy dead. Never did it bother him, but this did. "I don't care," he said pointing at her. "If you want to keep doing that to yourself then you can just leave. Because I swear to the gods if I see you do it again I'll throw you out of here so fast," he said threatening her. It was the only way he knew to get her to stop doing this. After she turned her back to him he turned around and sat on his bed, facing away from her as well. They were still within speaking range however.

"Then I'll go." she said as she dressed again "you can't force me to change who i am by threatening me! I'll find my own way if I must. I thank you for helping me escape but.... I will not be controlled, no more!" She said angrily "I'm not like one of your men. I have a fire and will all my own." she put her cloak back on and grabbed her millennium rose. she then headed for the door "you want to control a woman so badly? go get yourself a ******** whore!" she said before slamming the door. She didn't bother getting anything but her clothes, she had no desire for riches. she only desired things to survive off of. she then called her horse and hopped onto him easily and he began to trot off. as she hugged her arms to herself. not sure where to go but as far away from him and her brother as possible.
Atem nodded in the direction Eros would sneak out. "behind the stables. over there." he whispered as he lead them out of the palace and into the quiet yet still bustling city. "you choose what we shall do tonight, my treat and gift to you." he said sweetly while blushing underneath his cloak.

Amme followed him as they snuck out of the palace and into the city. Her eyes lit up when she saw the dark landscape lit by lanterns. Everything was moving to an abnormal beat but moved in order. She stood there for a few moments just taking in the scene. She didn't even know how lively the village could be at night time. There was much going on this night, little did she know but there was a festival happening. "Are the nights always this busy?" she asked unable to believe it was always like this. It was quiet where the two of them where, but further into the village soft music was playing. Amme smiled at Atem when he said this was his gift to her. "Can we start walking around? I wanna see what's happening in the village tonight," she said unsure at the moment what she wanted to do exactly. As they started walking around she saw a stage that was set up by the people with a woman who moved around strangely. She stopped and watched the woman as other were, she moved strangly but flowingly, rhythmical. She's never seen dancing since it wasn't something she could touch. Eros tried to explain dancing to her once but Amme couldn't really understand it.
Bakura turned right around when Eros said she was going to leave. How dare she up and leave! She wasn't allowed to leave! "You can't leave!!!" he said as he chased after her through the dining room and toward the door. She then slammed the door telling him to go find a whore. All he could do is scream at the door after she left. There were other men who just stared at him, bewildered yet interested in the situation. Bakura swung around and looked at him. "All of you! Get the ******** out of here! Just leave!" he screamed at them as he stormed back to his room and slammed the door. He paced around angrily at first. He never knew how to deal with anger. He took anything he could get a hold of,which was a pricey vase, and threw it against the wall. Nothing made him feel better. He was right, no matter what. He knew he was right, Eros was wrong. And he wasn't going to change his mind on the matter. He told her to leave if she was going to do that, but he wanted her because he still though she was his. He was possessive, there was nothing he could do about that. What ever he wanted he had to have, and he wanted Eros to be there.

Eros found an oasis to stay at and sat down with her horse beside her. she hugged her knees to her chest and cried silently. now she truly felt alone.... everyone wanted to posses her and tell her what she could and couldn't do. "Amme..." she whispered softly "I miss you Amme. Without you I'm so alone.... I don't fit in at the palace, among thieves..... or in a village.. everyone just wants to try and control me." tears were streaming down her face as she rested against her horse who rested it's head on her in concern.
Atem shook his head "not usually, there's a festival in town currently. and sure. whatever you want." he said as they headed further into the town, happy to see so many lively people still up and about.

She continued to watch the woman dancing on stage and only looked away when Atem spoke to her. They started to walk away. She saw many people with stands hoping to sell their merchandise. But there were other stands that did not have merchandise, that had different set ups. There were people who either were throwing things toward them or spinning things. She walked toward that direction with Atem, putting her arm inside of his so they wouldn't be separated. She watched others at these stand, curious at what they were doing. "What's going on? What are they doing?" she asked pointing at the various games they were playing. She couldn't help it, it was hard for her to tell what people where doing without touching certain things.
Bakura laid on his side on his bed propping his head up with his hand. The more he thought about the whole thing the more it made him mad. Well he couldn't just stay there, it would drive him mad thinking about it. He left his room and out of the hide out. He called his horse and hopped on. He decided to ride around and look for her. Not that he was going to apologize, but staying in his room was driving him crazy. But he didn't know where to look. Surely she wouldn't go back to the palace. He stopped for a moment and looked at the ground. A single horse had gone by. It was probably her horse. He followed them, having his horse trot slowly so he could keep an eye on the tracks. They lead to an oasis. It took him a while but he finally found her. He jumped off his horse and walked over to her. "So is this where you decided to go?" he said narrowing his eyes at her. He was still mad, but he didn't want to yell at her. "Before you say anything, think about this. If it was the other way around how would you feel. And was my reaction really that shocking?" he said in a serious voice but not completely angry.

she glared at the water "it wasn't so much your reaction it was you trying to control me. In my mind it's no different than the consul trying to control me... I'm so tired of trying to be owned and controlled 'Eros do this! Eros you can't do that, Eros doesn't belong anywhere...' you may have been free all your life but i had to grow up as soon as I could comprehend. Everyone gave me orders and that's all I've followed. I'm so sick and tired of being ordered around...." she made the water in the oasis swirl and dance "and I do that to me for more than one reason but it's not like you or anyone else cares as to why. no one ever cares about me, except for one person." she spat angrily.
Atem smile widened "they are playing games. wanna try one?" he asked sweetly as he observed her expression and ignored all else around them.

[[as a side note, I'm guessing Amme doesn't know about Eros' markings or else she would have been very upset about them as well]]
The only game she's really played was a memory game with Eros. Sight was greatly needed with most games. She looked at the variety. She watched one brawny man throw a spear at a target on the ground at one of the game stands. When he hit the target he turned around at his fellow friends and let out a loud burly victory yell. Amme was a bit startled so she clung onto Atem. "Not that one....." she said knowing she didn't have the strength to even attempt that game. She looked at another one that had to do with marbles and bottles. "How about this one?" she said walking with him to the stand. She watched the man that was already playing. He was given a small bag of marbles. Behind the stand was a few rows of bottles with no tops. She figured the point was to get so many marbles in the bottles. It seemed easy enough. Then she watched as the man tried and the marbles bounced off the tops of the bottles. The bottle tops were fairly narrow, so it wasn't that easy to get them in.
"I'm not like the consul," he hissed at her as he stood over her. "And I understand your need for freedom, now understand that I don't want you mutilating yourself. Can you understand why?" he said vaguely, not wanting to sound like he had feelings for her. Showing them would mean that he was weak, and he could not be weak. "What ever your reason for doing it, I can show you another way around it. If it's power, I can make you powerful without using such methods," he said trying to convince her. He's never tried so hard before to change someone. He would have just let her leave and that would have been that. But instead he was trying to make a difference. Perhaps he couldn't change her, and perhaps he did want to control her- to make her stop. But the reason for this was not for power, but to stop the aching he felt when he saw her do it. Something struck him, it struck him so hard that when he thought about it turned his stomach. "You should care what you are doing to yourself. No one should sacrifice anything to gain something," he said as he kneeled down next to her. He then but his hand on her back and leaned her toward the water. "Tell me what you see looking back at you?" he said with narrowed eyes. However, there was something very different in his eyes. They weren't empty like they have been for years, they were filled with what seemed to be concern. As much as he tried to hide it, his eyes showed it.

(lol yeah she didn't know.)
Eros looked at her reflection, sad and deeply lonely eyes stared back at her "someone who is alone inside...such a huge void fills my heart you couldn't even begin to comprehend.. no one can." she looked away "my main reason for causing such pain to myself is to dull out that very ache I have.. you can't replace it because it'll never go away. I don't even know how to fill it but i know material things wont ever do."
Atem nodded as he brought her over to the more simple stand and smiled at the man that ran it "can you please explain this game to us. we usually don't have money for festivals but I managed to save, and we'd like to play." he said sweetly.

The man running the stand smiled at the two. "Sure can. It's simple. You get 10 marbles. If you can get 3 marbles in any of these bottles you win a prize. It doesn't have to be the same bottle, as long as three out of ten marbles go into a bottle," he explained. He then told them the price to play and asked if they wanted to play.
Amme smiled as she listened to the rules. "I would like to play. But may I feel the top of one of the bottles?" she asked.
"Sure, I don't see a problem with that," he said holding a bottle towards her.
Amme rubbed her fingers around the lip and inside of the neck of the glass bottle. She tapped the bottle with her finger a bit as well. "Thank you," she said now that she understood the material it was made out of. The man put the bottle back and Amme looked at Atem. "Do you want to play too? Can I go first?" she asked.
Bakura narrowed his eyes at her. "Don't speak to me as if I've never felt pain. Such words only disgrace me," he snapped at her. He grabbed her chin roughly and made her look at him, "Look at me. I've lost more in my life then you could possibly imagine. Don't believe me? Hold something dear to you then watch someone stripe it away from you and not being able to do anything about it. These eyes have seen atrocity and horror. And those memories are forever burned into my mind and soul." He let go of her chin and stood up. Bakura then pointed at the water and said, "When I look at my reflection, I see someone who has survived. Scars are meant to be signs of survival from others, not from yourself." He relaxed his arm and looked at Eros. "The pain and loneliness will eventually dissipate. In time, all things fade away. It did for me and it will for you," he lied to her. He still felt the pain from all those years ago. It still burned a hole in his stomach, it still drove him mad. Nothing has filled the emptiness in his soul. But if he could get her to stop, to grow stronger without hurting herself, then perhaps he too could learn. He did not tell her his story, he did not tell her what he had lost.

"you lie... your soul is full of pain. my millennium item has me to see the inner most emotions of anyone around me. as well as telling me when someone is lying." she then stood up and kept her back to him. "I can't even trust you." she spat back. "its better for someone to die quickly than to catch an illness and die slowly.. the longer you watch them suffer the more of you that dies as time ticks away. Memories never go away, they invade my dreams every night and haunt me to the verge of tears." she sighed "I'll stop... but you must quit lying to me." she turned around and faced him. "lying to me will only push me away to where I wont even listen to anything you say."
Atem nodded "yes I'll play." he then handed the Vendor enough money for both of them. he then smiled and put a hand on her shoulder "they key to winning most games is keeping a cool head. the more irritated you get the harder it becomes to focus." he tipped her off. before standing next to her and watched.

Amme looked at him when he gave her the hint. She smiled and said, "Ok then." She was handed the marbles and she felt them in her hand and fingers. She took a few seconds to think. If she could reduce the force of contact between the glass and the marble she could probably get some in. Of course, she had to aim as well. She threw the first marble underhanded and lightly. She threw it too soft and it only hit the side of the first row bottles. Depth perception was very new to her. She looked at Atem and giggled a little, "Haha, oops." She tried four more times, heavily missing each bottle. She was either too short or too far. She sighed a little, five more marbles to go. With the six one in hand she threw it up higher rather then further. This time, the marble hit the middle row and almost went into the bottle. "Aw, almost," she said smiling. She had four more marbles to go. At least now she was getting the hang of it.
Bakura's eyes widened when she caught him in his lie. And he knew what she said was true. Memories never do die. And they haunted him everyday and every night. It was one of the reasons he did not like to sleep, he tried to stay up as much as he could. He blinked a few times when she said she would stop . "Fine then. I have no more reason to lie to you," he said accepting the terms. "Don't think just because you stopped that you will no linger be able to become stronger. I promised you that I would make you stronger, I have not forgotten that. As for your pain, consider this your second life. The one you lived before is gone. I know the memories will never go away. But you need not concern yourself with them anymore," he said as he walked to his horse and jumped on. "You're free to come back to the hide out when ever you want," he said as he was about to snap the reigns. However he stopped and added, "Unless you would like me to stay here with you for longer. "

Eros sat back down beside her horse. "I'd... Like you to stay a bit longer then I'd go back with you.. It's quieter out here. My nerves are also still on end and in enclosed areas it isn't safe because of my powers. emotion is what helps give magic its power... I've lost control before."
Atem smiled "you still have three more chances." he encouraged and marveled at her quick improvement.
