Jarred smiled at her comment, reaching for a thing of cranberry juice, but casually moving his hand and grabbing apple. He looked at her, "It's nice getting to know you, though I can't say I know another way."

Kat shook her head and picked up the cranberry juice, putting it into the cart, "You're not the only one who likes it."
She turned around moving a few feet ahead of the cart as she examined some of the fresh produce. "So how long have you had your dog?"

Jarred gave her a wry grin. "I wasn't sure how you'd feel if I said I liked it."
"I've had him for about seven years now. He was a gift from my grandfather on my birthday, and he's been with me ever since. He's a smart dog, too. You'd be surprised." Jarred bagged up a few tomatoes and onions, tossing them in the bag.

"Of course you like it. They all like whatever it is they taste, save one or two, and those were rather awkward situations." Kat picked out a ginger root, making sure it was a good one before bagging it and placing it in the cart as well. "He seemed like a smart dog, and friendly for the most part. Slightly possessive over his couch though. I haven't ever had a pet myself, but I would have liked one like him."
Kat paused over by the cilantro, picking out a bundle.

"I'm not sure if I want to know." He chuckled, grabbing a clove of garlic. "He's a good dog, and a good reminder of my grandfather when I need one." He walked back to the cart, dumping the garlic in. "So what's the weirdest tasting kiss you've given?" He smiled, leaning foreword on the handles, trying to keep the conversation casual.

Kat let out a small laugh, leaning forward and keeping her voice slightly quiet. "Pepto bismol, if you can believe it or not. And that's just of the ones I know about. I don't taste it myself, and sometimes I'm in too much of a hurry to ask." She pulled back to look at some of the avocados, though decided against them after finding them a bit too bruised.

"Hmm, that's a good one. You just have to ask him if the kiss cured his indigestion or not." He smiled, grabbing some peppers. "What do you think we should cook tonight? "Tums, tums also would have been a good kiss."

"Hmm, my kiss is tasty, but it is no cure-all." Kat's smile turned up a notch, "That's a fairly good question. What is it you like to cook, Jarred? "I've never kissed tums before, though someone has expressed a powdery fruit flavor."

"It certainly is." He said about her kiss, but answered her question before she could respond to it, "I'm thinking maybe some pasta, something that it's easy to make a lot of. No telling how many of us there'll be, pasta's quick and easy."

"Yes, fairly easy, but can be exciting all on its own as well. Perhaps some pasta with peas, mint and parsley, or go with asparagus and prosciutto." Kat paused, "have you ever tried pasta with squid? I suppose that might be too much for Adam."

"Fine point, don't want to scare the kid." He glanced down at the cart, then back up again. "We could just order a lot of pizza."

Arch the Angel "Fine point, don't want to scare the kid." He glanced down at the cart, then back up again. "We could just order a lot of pizza." Kat tilted her head back and forth for a moment then nodded. "Pizza can work, but I get to spice one of them up after arrival. Deal?"

"Deal. I've got some great imported spices you can try." He smiled as he pushed the cart to another isle, grabbing a few boxes of cereal and some oatmeal bars. He turned to face her. "It's nice to see you relax, Kat, especially with everything that's happened."

"Ooh imported?" Kat seemed to perk up that, "Fancy." She smiled, putting her hand back on the side of the cart as they walked down the aisle. She chuckled slightly, "I hadn't even noticed I'd relaxed. Do you have some secret calming voodoo?"

"You're talking about yourself, you seem to be enjoying yourself. I'd call that relaxed." He paused, considering the cereals. "I'd like to think I do at times. Maybe it's just the mundane task of grocery shopping while all these things move around us. Time to just step back and do something simple."
