Marik had no idea what was going on, he wasn't paying attention to the people around him as he stood in line to sign up, his arms crossed over his chest as he stood there swaying back and froth on his heels, nothing going on in his head. For once he and the dark ego inside him were agreeing on something that the race was calling them. He hoped it would be a good race, while Malik hoped it was going to have some blood shed. 'I can't wait for this the last one we were in, you rammed that guy into the wall and shattered his leg into shards of bone.' Malik's dark voice rang in Marik head making him crack an evil smile. 'I know, he shouldn't have knocked into us and he would have been able to walk away from the track...
Not far away in the crowd was Bakura, he had left Joey at the house and wanted to come play a little with the others in the underground. Walking through the crowd he stopped Tristen with two girls. I wonder what that doofuss is doing. He asked himself as he approached the small group. With an innocent smile on his lips as he looked at the girls then to the dork he called a friend, "Hello Mate, and M'ladies." Turning to face the girls he gave a small sweet look, "I'm Bakura Ryou but you can call me 'Kura if you wish.
Tristen looked at Bakura with a cocked eyebrow and tilited head. 'He never told us we could call him 'Kura.' The taller male whined in his head then shook the thought once he realized it made him seem like he was jealous or something about not being able to call the other by a nickname. "So what brings you here Bakura?
"Naturally, I would expect you to be noise, but if you insit I am here to make sure nothing will interfer with Marik's race. I have...a rather large sum of money on him racing and I don't want there to be any interferance with the results." He shoved his hands into his pockets and turned to face the boared that held the named. "If everything goes well, he and I will be one step closer..."Bakura let his voice trail off.
'Finally,' Marik thought as he stepped up to the registure window and pulled out his ID card to show proof of who he was. "You people should know me by now, I come here every night and race. He chuckled then signed the paper he was given that had the rules, the rider rights and the fine print that said if they died that the underground wouldn't be held responsible. Smiling as he walked towards the group and turned to see the names, 'Kiba...this is going to be fun. Chuckling to himself he turned his eyes back to the group and looked at Bakura. "Nice to see you here."

Lerena blinked in confusion, then her arm was pulled on by Caroline. "What is it, Caroline?" asked Lerena, surprised. Her friend directed her attention to a familiar name. She looked at the board that held the names and her eyes narrowed. Kiba Natsuki was Marik's opponent? Would he play fair and deceive Marik by making him think he's someone he's not? "Nice to meet you, Bakura. I'm Lerena, but...excuse me for a moment. I have to use the bathroom. Where is it?" asked Lerena. Not only was this true, but she still had Kiba's number on her cell phone. She could make herself known to her enemy and make sure he didn't do anything bad to Marik. But Kiba was also one to deceive others into thinking he's fair and just. It was far too early to make a move on Kiba, because he might have nothing planned for the day. He might just be here to have fun, and yet, that seemed unlikely. Suddenly, her cell phone vibrated. She wondered just what this call was for. It might be from Kiba. It was difficult for her to keep a straight face when she had to go to the bathroom.
"You're hopeless, aren't you, Lerena-sama?" asked Caroline with a sigh. "I'll show you where it is. It's by the sign-up counters." She didn't mind that Lerena had to use the bathroom, but she did mind that Kiba's name on the board meant something to her superior. She probably wanted to go to the bathroom for personal reasons as well and Caroline needed to assure Lerena that Marik would be fine. And yet, Lerena had a score to settle with Kiba. Did she want Marik or revenge more? She wasn't sure, but she preferred Lerena being with Marik more than seeking revenge on an ex-boyfriend for his sins.
Kiba was in the men's room and smirking. "Hurry up and answer, Lerena dear." he thought impatiently. He wanted Lerena to know that he was in the Underground and that the Natsuki Clan had more power than some weak girl. He would keep calling until his message got through or the race began. This would be fun.

Tristen looked at the girls but didn't say anything he was more interested in that fact that Bakura had placed money on Marik's race, and apparently it was a large amount. He knew those two were up to something but was clueless on what that something was. His hands shoved themselves into the pockets as he walked up and stood next to the blond boys. "Alright, enough with the secret bull crap, someone better tell me what is going on or else." He demaned, even though in his head he knew the chances of them two coughing up the truth was slim to none. Even before they were all friends, Bakura and Marik seemed to be on a different level then everyone else at the place. Plus, there was something up about those girls.
"You know Kiba?" Bakura asked ignoring the brown headed boys demand, he wasn't in the mood to deal with that fool at the moment. "How?" Taking a small step towards the other as his voice deepened. "Does he make you heart pound with thrill or from fear." Ryo could sense the beating in Marik's body change a little, it was enough to say there was something happening but not enough to say what. Was this guy a threat? Or was he someone Marik would say that he likes to play with?
Not bothering to answer the dark haired idiot, Marik replied without a change in his voice to the other. "I do not know that man personaly, but I have heard about him from some of my Rare Hunters, they say he plays by his own rules. He is part of some gang, I do not recall the time, its been a while since I was told about him." Marik's eyes moved to look at Bakura from the sides of them. "I have a feeling though, that he and I have a lot more in commen then we know, however, he doesn't scare me." His eyes started to darken up, "he makes my blood boil with excitement, my vein tickle with eagerness and my heart pounds with joy. Yes, this race is going to be very fun for me, but I can't say you'll have the same excitement. Going up against him might break your wallet."
"What? Kiba..Hello! Guys fill me in!" He hissed at the two of them.
"Shut up, your voice is annoying, my ears are going to start bleeding if you keep speaking." Bakura snapped then took his leave, "I will be in the box, I hope you don't make my loose the fortune I have spent on you tonigth my friend." His voice was causal but deep as he turned and headed to the place to sit and watch the races. 'Kiba, how come I haven't heard of you....?' He asked himself wondering why Marik hadn't mentioned the man before today.
Tisten wasn't sure if he should be insulted or not at Bakura's response.
Looking at his best friend, Marik nodded. "I assure you if I lose it won't be planned." A dark smirk was on his face, he knew Bakura would ponder about who the man was and why he hadn't mentioned him before. Looking at Tristen, Marik rolled his eyes. "You need to learn that sometimes its better to be in the dark, for if you learn this you might die...Now leave, don't you have some skate match to win?"
"Whatever!" Tristen barked and headed off leaving Marik there to wait on the girls.

"Kiba can't be alive!" screamed Lerena, punching the bathroom wall. She turned to Caroline. "I'm glad you're here. You opened my eyes. I can't sit here letting Kiba and Justin have their way!" she said cryptically. She opened her cell phone and saw that Kiba was calling her. "Fool." remarked Lerena with a dark smirk. She answered the call. "Lerena Leigh Helena here. How may I help you, Kiba?" asked the American girl.
"Lerena-sama...I'm sorry." said Caroline as Lerena answered her cell phone.
"It's about time!" barked Kiba. "Listen up, Lerena. Now that we are enemies, don't interrupt the match between me and your boyfriend. As far as I'm concerned, I hope he dumps you for a much better woman. I don't know what Justin sees in you. Really. Just prepare for your funeral. You better hope I lose against your lover." said Kiba, hanging up on Lerena. His voice had been sent; there was no reason for him to listen to that fool. Her voice may be beautiful and strong, but she was no match for the Natsuki Clan without her powers. Therefore, that woman was not his concern.
"That fool!" Lerena said with a growl. He hung up on her! "Caroline, let's go back out and wish Marik his best!"
"Of course, Lerena-sama." answered Caroline, following her superior out of the bathroom. They met up with Marik again. "We're back. It was a telemarketer." Caroline explained.
"I hate those." said Lerena. It might as well have been a telemarketer; sometimes Kiba reminded her of one. Telemarketers don't listen and never does Kiba. "Do your best, Marik. I hope you win against your opponent."

Marik was happy to see the girls when they came back, he didn't want to tell them but he needed all the luck he could get. He had heard how Kiba races, and even thought he didn't know the man he felt like he should. "Aww thank you, with you two cheering for me there is no way I will lose." Putting on a smile, he walked up to Lerena, he brushed a hand over her cheek and smiled. "I could use a good luck...hug." He smiled and wrapped his arms around her closely. Marik couldn't tell her if he would walk away from the match, he wanted to but he never knew when it came to racing it was all luck and paring the decided your fate.

"You are not going to die. You hear me?" asked Caroline. "Beat this Kiba or whoever he is. You're better than anything this guy could possibly dish out." she remarked, smiling at Lerena. She knew that hug would make Lerena feel amazing.
Lerena blushed and she couldn't help it really. She hugged back. "Good luck, Marik. Beat him, please. Don't let him harm you. If he does, I won't be held responsible for what I do to this guy."
Kiba overheard what Lerena said and snickered as he slipped on his Rollerblades. It was too late for Marik, because Kiba would soon see Lerena in misery as the life of her dear lover faded in thin air. Marik didn't know about Lerena's darker half, but if he did, he wouldn't love Lerena so much.

it then hit him that the way the girls were acting meant they either knew him or knew of him. Pulling from the hug he looked at Caroline, then to Lerena. "I will be fine, trust me, I won't die here tonight." He played stupid not meaning to seem like it but he didn't want them to worry or sense that he knew about the man he would he facing off against. "Hey." Reaching into his pocket, Marik pulled out a twenty dollar bill and handed it to Lerena, "why don't you girls go get a drink and a snack, I am going to head on down to the pit." He hoped they wouldn't think anything about him sending them away but he needed to get into the pit and ask around to see what he was really up against.

((Well, it's about time! This post is being posted 3 hours late, because my internet connection decided to go down.))
"Alright." said Lerena, taking the twenty dollar bill. She looked to Caroline, who was busy texting a friend of theirs. "Come on, Caroline. Let's get a snack and something to drink." she suggested.
Caroline finished a text message and snapped her cell phone shut before placing it in a pocket of her black jeans. "I am so down with that plan, Lerena-chan." she said with a smile.
Lerena got some Dr. Pepper and a large kit kat bar while Caroline settled for some cheetoes and a bottle of Mountain Dew. "I really hope Kiba doesn't intend to harm Marik." she said to Caroline. They were hanging out by the vending machine for a few minutes.
"If Marik is good enough, Kiba will aim to harm you when you're alone." explained Caroline. "But he's too much of a fool to realize when to stop." she remarked. "He's a good fighter, but a bad thinker."
"In other words, a person who does things based on instinct rather than logical thought patterns. He'll know to stop if he's in pain, but he won't know to otherwise. And once he recovers from that pain, he will desire nothing else but revenge." said Lerena. Her eyes widened. "Caroline! What happened on the day Kiba dumped me?"
"Your dark side emerged when he tried to kill you. You injured him and left him in a critical condition." explained Caroline. "Ever since your friendship with Renoko began, that dark side hasn't emerged again. You have to believe in Marik, Lerena. If you truly love him, you have to trust that he won't lose to that good for nothing ex-boyfriend of yours."
Lerena sighed. "Of course, Caroline. Kiba almost killed me, didn't he? He almost succeeded..."
"He did, Lerena-sama. But the emergance of your dark side protected you." answered Caroline. She stuck a cheeto in her mouth. "I know nothing about your dark side, Lerena-sama. All I know is that Marik is stronger than Kiba. He is far superior so do not worry about anything."
She nodded. "Why is Kiba only coming after me now?"
"I'm not sure." Caroline confessed.

Heading into the pit area with his motorcycle, Marik saw a couple of people he had raced against before, tossing a hand up he walked over to them and asked them if they knew anything about the Kiba fellow. It was a pointless effort, they ended up telling him the same stuff that he already knew. "Damn." He kicked the wall and crossed his arms in annoyance, head hung as he walked back to his bike and set down on it. "Well that was meaningless." The teenager, closed his eyes and leaned onto the handle bars trying to think of what he could do to get some info aside from approaching the man face to face. He was the 7th set to go out, so he had a while to kill. Looking around he didn't even know what this guy looked like, let alone his voice. Pulling out his cellphone he send a quick text to Bakura.
Bakura almost jumped, he was in the middle of telling the surrounding people about his ring, a lie of course, and his phone that was in his back pocket went off making him jump. "Huh?" Reaching into his pocket he pulled it out and looked at the text. 'Fine. Bakura muttered then placed his innocent face back on as he stood up, "seems I am needed else where at the present moment, but I will be back." He headed down from the box he was seated in and walked up to the girls he had met earlier, Lerena and Caroline. "Hello ladies." He flashed them a smile and walked up between them, "I was just informed I was to come get you and take you to the box where I am at. It seems you both are keeping something from me, and I need to know what you knbow about Kiba. No questions, just spill the details."This part wasn't in the text but he had a feeling they knew Kiba a little better then they wanted him or Marik to believe.

"We're not keeping anything from you; it's just a misinterpretation. If you ask, we'll answer the question." explained Caroline. She looked at Lerena. What did he want with them? But her superior seemed to want Bakura to know about Kiba. In fact, she looked almost pleased to speak about Kiba to him. Why was this the case? Even though he was smiling at them, there was definitely something odd going on.
"We'll tell you everything we know; all that is relevant at least. I don't know why Kiba is here, but perhaps Caroline can answer that question. I've been in the dark for far too long and I feel like I shouldn't be." explained Lerena, eyeing her friend and body guard.
Was her superior honestly telling her to spill the truth in front of this person who they know nothing about? What if he wants to hurt someone?! Well, the Helena Clan and the Natsuki Clan obviously wanted to hurt each other, but how was that relevant to the situation? "Of course, Lerena-sama." she answered her superior, not bothering to hold back her huge respect for her friend this time.
"Kiba is my enemy and has been for the past six years apparently. My sister said he committed suicide, but he's back to do something, meaning he never died. If you're wondering what Kiba's up to, that's Caroline's order of business, not mine. Caroline, spill the juice. I'm curious." ordered Lerena. There was something about this person that made her interested in telling him everything. Perhaps it was his directness or perhaps it was some sort of hidden evil that he wasn't revealing to the two girls. Caroline didn't want Bakura in on something, but if it was Lerena's orders, she wouldn't hesitate to spill the guts. Either way, Lerena figured that the best way to get rid of Kiba was to tell an outside party about him. After all, Kiba didn't know jack about Bakura or Marik so therefore them knowing about Kiba would help a lot.
"I'm sorry, Lerena-sama. Kiba's here, because he wants to kill you." confessed Caroline. "It's a personal situation, but Kiba wants Lerena to suffer so his intention is probably to kill Marik."
"Oh, yea?! Bring him here! I'll tear him limb from limb!" said Lerena, punching her palm with a fist.
"Speak of the devil and he shall appear, Lerena-chan." said Kiba with a dark smirk. "Talking about me over here, are you? Caroline, I knew it was a bad idea to let you come here. Lerena, my intention is not to kill Marik, but rather, kill you. If you wanted to know something, you should've just asked." It was true; since Bakura was obviously Marik's ally, he had to change his strategy. Bakura wouldn't care jack about these two girls, would he?
"Why aren't you dead?!" asked Lerena, shocked.
"I hope you and Caroline realize that I intend to fight this match to the death. If I can't win, I'd rather die. The Natsuki Clan deals out harsh punishments, don't you know, Lerena-chan?" asked Kiba.
"Shut up, Kiba! if you lay a finger on Marik, I will rip out your--" began Lerena before she was interrupted.
"Lerena-sama!" interrupted Caroline. "This is no way to behave! Honestly, we're not here to start anything."
"You can't keep protecting her, Caroline. If I die here, Lerena will eventually know the truth and when that happens, she'll be devastated. Actually, I might actually want to live so I can see that.' said Kiba with a dark chuckle.
"Oh, shut up, Kiba! You really have no common sense do you? It's at least two to one. You can't win against Lerena and I so just beat it." ordered Caroline.
"I don't want to fight before my match, but if I win, you two girls will get a one-way ticket to Hell." remarked Kiba. "Oh, and you," said Kiba, pointing at Bakura. "I won't lose so it's useless to ask about me." he finished with a snort.

"Heh, so you are more interesting then you look, Lerena." Bakura chuckled then his eyes turned to the area that the guy who was apparently named Kiba walked up Bakura could sense the darkness in his soul, it was alluring and his dark side was being drawn to it. He kept his casual stance, his arms crossed at his chest and head cocked to the side in annoyance. This wasn't what he had expected, howeve it was rather a amusing to him to see the two girls get all worked up about him being close to them. His eyes watched the man, his ears were tuned in onto his voice, Bakura was studying the creep as he talked to the girls. "True I should have just went out of my way to find you, however I don't care enough to seek out my pray, when all I have to do is bide my time and it shows up at me feet." He turned sideways a little, relieved that the man wasn't out to kill Marik, Bakura really had no more business to deal with him. Yet, the man caught his attention. "Kiba, correct, I have no intension of asking anything about a low life scum whos corps would look nice as a decoration piece in my chambers, and as for the girls, heh kill them. I don't mind, I care nothing for the foolish mortals and even less for Lerena, she is just in the way." Unsure if he was saying it because he meant it, or simply to show the man he was unaffected by his threats. "However, Kiba," he didn't give the man any respect as he talked to him, a few chuckles arose from within. "I will grant you the wish of death once you loose, for you see you too are in the way of my plans, and I cannot allow it." Taking a couple steps he added in. "One more thing, don't let your mouth run away with you.." With that said he started back to his box.

((Since Bakura seems uninterested in the girls now, they'll just stay there. ~coughKibaislyingthroughhisteethcough~))
"Haha! It wouldn't be interesting any other way!" said Lerena with a dark cackle. She snorted when Bakura said she was in the way. Why did Bakura come fetch her if she was in the way then? What did he have to say about that? Even though she was now enraged, she had to stay in control. After all, she always got what she wanted. If Kiba was alive, she would have to truly kill him this time. These thoughts were unlike her! What's going on? She may hate Kiba, but she was no murderer, was she? She looked at Caroline for guidance, but the poor woman seemed to be holding back the urge to punch something. "Speak to me, Caroline. What's wrong?" asked Lerena.
Caroline looked at her friend. "My emotions are not important. I will control them, so there is nothing to be worried about. As for now, it seems my mission is not yet complete." she explained, pulling out her cell phone and texting a friend back. "I don't think Bakura's interested in us anymore, but there's still the possibility that Kiba's lying through his teeth and is still out to kill Marik. If that is the case..."
Kiba snorted at the two girls and walked closer to Lerena. He punched her in the stomach hard enough to cause her to fall. "If you even think about interrupting my match with Marik, regardless of what I do, I will kill you right in front of him! That's just a warning!" he said harshly. He was obviously angry at what Bakura said to him, as it seemed threatening to Kiba. He walked away, leaving Lerena on the ground holding her stomach in pain. Once again, his metal glove proved victorious and Lerena proved to be weaker than her darker half.
"Lerena-sama!" said Caroline. "Damn that son of a b***h!" she remarked. "Are you alright?" she asked.
Lerena stood up and growled at Kiba. "I'm fine, Caroline. It hurts, yes, but I'll get over it. He won't survive another day hurting me. His final hours are approaching." she explained darkly.

Bakura wasn't a fool, he had moved into the shadows nearby and watched the event play out, "heh, typical." He pulled out his phoen from his back pocket and sent his partner in crime a text, tell him what Kiba looked like, what he sounded like, what had happened and that Kiba seemed to like to play dirty and to be careful. He sent the text and exhaled deeply. Walking up from the shadows to the girls, Bakura rolled his eyes at them, they were a strange pair, but then again so was he and Mairk. "Eh, I got what I needed out of that, are you alrught?" The boy asked as he looked over Lerena making sure she wasn't blooding and that the are she was struck didn't contain in vital organs which could result in internal bleeding. Turning his attentiont to Carolinie, the bleach blond's eyes seemed to be looking into her soul as he spoke. "Before you snap at me, know this, if I hadn't walked away I wouldn't have gotten the information I needed. I can read someone by their actions and he wouldn't have shown his true side if I had stayed...However unlike him, I can keep my promises." His eyes started to darken, as his dark side was trying to come out, it had been a while since he had an internal battle with himself, normally the body was shared but since the appearance of Kiba Ryo had started to want full control again. "Ugh." Stumbling a couple steps backwards, he grabbed his head and extended an arm out and placed it against the wall to brace himself from falling into it. With his eyes closed tight, Bakura struggled more and more to stay in control of the body, then it was over. Eyes opening he shook his head and looked back up at them. "Sorry, I guess I got a little dizzy there." He was back to being full Bakura, there was no darkness in his viens at the moment. "Well as for Marik, I wouldn't worry too much, he's not your average teenage boy, he's been through some stuff, like we all have. Besides, if Kiba does when, I have my own game for him." This was going to be hard to explain to Marik, he was sure that the girl who liked his best friend was going to think he (Bakura) was nuts, and the other one didn't seem to fancy him too much either at the moment. But, he couldn't blame them his actions weren't he best but then again he wasn't trying to win one of the females over he was simply doing his job and taking care of what he needed to. "Come on, lets go, I am take you to the box to watch the match."

((Writer's block. XD))
"Understood. I'm fine, thank you. That's a nice ability. I wish I had something like that." Lerena said. "He won't win. Even with his brute strength, he's stupid. Block his sight and he's sure to lose. But even so, he'll still be an opponent worth out watching for. And if he's not, then he's lost his talent." explained Lerena. Marik had gone through some stuff? It was difficult to tell when she went out with him earlier, but she couldn't focus on that. She had to remain focused on the match. She walked with Bakura to the box he mentioned.
"Well, I'll forgive you just this once. But I am still female." Caroline remarked, referring to the fact that women often held longer grudges than men. She walked with Lerena to the box.

Bakura walked then up the steps and to the row that he had saved for him and them, taking a seat, he looked at Caroline. "I noticed you were a female, and I do believe women hold gruges longer. But lets get this settled, like it or not your friend and mine might be together for a while and if this is so then you and I will see a lot of each other sweetheart, so get over it." With those words leaving his mouth, Bakura set back in the chair and crossed his legs properly as he waited for the match to start. He had a little surprise for Kiba, and Marik. Even though they were close, Marik and Bakura each still weren't nearly as close as everyone seemed to think. As the matches started, Bakura started to chant in his head, preparing to take the heated match into a darker place, a place Marik and himself knew all to well. The Shadow Realm.
With every match that was played, it made Marik move a step closer to the gate. He had read the text message over and over, burning the image into his head, he wasn't going to let some creep get the best of him. Seated on his motorcycle, Marik looked around, he could feel the air begining to get very heavy. 'Ah, Bakura, you're so naughty.' He chuckled to himself knowing what his fiendish friend had in mind for his match. This was turning out to be far more interesting then he had imaged.
