"Nymph? Like Verdie?" Faolan smiled at that. "Sounds about right fae you, wife." He nodded and focused back on the dishes. "Glad you didnae mind th' kids. I know they can be a handful."

Ellandra nodded a little. "Not. .. . not the same type, I don't believe, but yes." She breathed a little sigh and smiled. "They were delightful, truly," she said, "I liked their company honestly."

"Yeah, I like haein' the kids around. Helped a lot after me own children didnae get born," Faolan said, shrugging. He looked over at Ellandra. "You sure you were okay wi' them, though? You did give Kelly some odd looks."

Ellandra reached her hand out to Faolan, sensing something wasn't quite right with her husband. "Would you. . . talk about it with me, Faolan? Whatever it is that's bothering you?"

"Nothin's botherin' me, love. Just thought you might be upset," Faolan said. "I know you gotta be wonderin' if he's mine an' . . . I donnae hae an answer fae tha'. I donnae know if he's mine or not. He might be, but his dam's ne'er said so. She's married an' her husband is th' boy's father regardless o' who sired him. I ain't gonna screw tha' family up just 'cause I'm curious."

Ellandra tilted her head. "I'm not upset, Faolan - and. . . I can understand you not wanting to ask." She paused for a moment. "Though it all makes me wonder how much our son will look like you. . ."

"Probably quite a bit, same as me daughter. They'll look like you, too, Elle," Faolan said, scrubbing away at the dishes. "Red hair's rather common among didikai. The boy's mama has red hair. I donnae think tha's much o' a telltale sign. Neither be th' boy's eyes. Aye, they're golden like me own, but it's a common color, too. So, I donnae rightly know how much our kids will look like us. Far as I know, I donnae got any livin' children aside from th' one you ain't birthed yet."
He looked back at her, sighing softly. "You know, it could be th' girl tha' takes after me an' the boy could be brown haired and silver-eyed like his mama."

"Somehow," Ellandra said quietly, "I don't think so." Then she made a face. "And my eyes aren't silver, that's far too pretty a term for my dull eyes."

Faolan stopped what he was doing and wiped his hands off on a dishtowel. After tossing it over on a counter, he walked to his wife and knelt down before her, looking up at her. "Aye, they're silver. It's fitting. Silver an' gold." He shrugged a little. "Whatever they're colorin' is, they'll definitely have our pale skin."

Ellandra smiled at Faolan and stroked his hair. "Silver's too complimentary, but if that's what you prefer to say, then all right." Sighing a bit, she peered at her belly. "I wonder if either of them would have freckles. . . "

"Be kinda nice if they both did. Freckles are cute," Faolan said, grinning at her. His ears went up and he pulled a surprised and attentive look. "What's tha', me bairns?" He pressed his ear to his wife's belly. "You want t' say your dam's just bein' silly an' she's th' most beautiful woman in th' world?"

Ellandra laughed out loud. "So our children chose to impart their words of wisdom just to you, hmm? And not to me, who's been carrying them around for the better part of a year now?" She wrinkled her nose and touched Fao's ear lightly.. "That seems a little suspicious to me. . . . have they picked a favorite parent already?" Her eyes were sparkling the entire time. Clearly, she was enjoying herself very much.
