Rivener's smile dimmed as Zul answered him honestly, revealing that he wasn't all that well at all. The Scorpion had expected as much-... their last phone conversation had been sign enough that the demon had been through very much. He caressed the short cream-colored hair constantly now, knwoing by Zul's faint reactions that he enjoyed that. It must be helping him feel better, yes? So Riv would continue. As long as it took!

Mentioning the flower he'd left brought a sly smirk to Rivener's lips. It was their secret, the meaning behind such a simple gift. When Zul spoke of it, it made Riv feel like they were in their own little world. He tilted his head. "I'm glad you liked it, so very glad. I will get you more, many many more if you want." Guh, it was so hard not to kiss the frei!

The physical urges were thankfully stemmed a little by the more important feeling of pride as Zul complimented him, saying he looked better every time they saw each other. The Sigel's lips curled up into a grin and he flared his wings just so, showing off a little bit as he tossed his head, sending his ponytail swinging. "I am well, yeah. I wanted to sun myself today, so I took my clothes off and put my hair up off my neck. You like it?" He snickered, rather happy he'd decided to do this today. He didn't admit to himself that he had done it all in the hopes of getting these very same compliments from Zul...

"Ah!" Riv suddenly said, red eyes opening wider and glancing sideways at Lucia, then at his own pack where his cellphone waited. He'd told the kitten he was going to fetch Sevilin, hadn't he. He didn't care much if she saw him cuddling with Zul like this, but he didn't want to be called a LIAR. He supposed he should get going, but... Ugh! "...I'm supposed to go call Sevilin to see if he wants to come here," the Scorpion announced, obviously very reluctant to go anywhere at all.

Aphismet had come to the conclusion that dammit, he simply wasn't going to get "used to it". Seeing Alex dressed like that would reduce anyone to a drooling mess, so Aphismet would just have to deal with it. There's no way he could avoid her! How rude would that be! Clearing his throat, Aphi got up and headed to the drinks table, picking up a cold can of pop for both himself and the Italian.

Pausing a moment to collect himself, Aphismet made his way to the poolside, smiling rather nervously for once. "Ah, A-A... Alex. Uhm, thirsty? I mean, hi. I brought drinks. You want one? ...You, ah..." No, he couldn't just blurt out You look damned hot!! He blushed hot crimson and sat near her on the side of the pool, letting both his legs dip into the water. "H-How've you been? Drink? I asked that already. Which one? There's lemon and cola."

The demon drew comfort from the simple touch of long fingers in his hair, smiling at the Sigel easily as he expressed his contentment. Knowing what it meant between them, the offer was very touching. "It is very special to me," he agreed lightly, "but I have to get you some too." Zul hoped the flowers would be able to say what he couldn't yet.

When Rivener began to preen, the Frei felt more like the world had settled back on its normal axis, laughing in his lazy, smoky manner, dragging his fingers down the Sigel's back to keep from doing the same motion on the elder Raevan's front. This was going to be very, very hard. "Yes. I like Rivener all ways." Zul chuckled, tightening his hand into a fist against the Scorpion's side, chanting an inner mantra of not touching his neck and face and--

Startled, the demon came out of his thoughts and peered curiously at Rivener, following his gaze to a Raevan he'd never met. She was exceptionally pale but had the most amazing pair of black ears that Zul had ever seen, his fist loosening a little as he imagined what they'd feel like. Like a cat, no doubt, but soft like LuLu's, or more fine like Alex's silk pillows? He again found himself off track, blinking up to Rivener as he mentioned a very familiar name. "Sevilin?" he echoed with familiarity. "I haven't seen Sevilin for...almost a year. Can I go with you?" The demon wasn't exactly willing to let the Scorpion go anywhere, either.

The woman had just caught sight of Rong Wei, about to pull herself out of the pool to go greet her (and reassure her that all the floating creatures were real, should she still be in doubt), but a certain white-haired chef effectively made her forget just about everything but her name, staring almost dumbstruck at him for a few moments before grinning ear to ear. "Aphi!" she practically purred, shifting on the stair to lean on his leg. "I was just wondering if you were here! Oh!" Her green eyes momentarily lowered to the sodas, gingerly choosing the lemon. "Thanks. You're so sweet."

She popped the can open with her forefinger, the other arm still lazily curled on Aphismet's leg; she took a sip before resting her cheek on her arm, smiling up at him. "I'm okay," she replied, having a better handle of keeping herself together than her charge, "worn. Had a few things hit me all at once, but I'm alive so that has to stand for something, right?" Alex chuckled softly, quite comfortable. "How about you? How's the fam?" Her gaze only briefly turned to their Raevans before returning her attention to Aphismet.

Rivener's smile returned at the praise, and remained plastered on his face even through the sudden burst of jealousy. Ohh, the red eyes had seen! Zul had been staring at Lucia. Even though the Sigel hurried to tell himself it was only because they didn't know one another most likely, Rivener still hadn't been able to prevent that momentary pang of outrage. That's silly, stop being so possessive, Rivener told himself with a slight shake of his head, paying attention instead to what his Zul was saying.

"Go with me? ...I'd love that!" Rivener grinned, rustling his wings. Not only would he not have to separate from Zul, he'd also get to be alone with Zul on their way to fetch the ocean frei! Time for caresses, kisses, and all the stuff Rivener feared would get them in trouble here. "Come, let's go call him. If he's still home, then we can go get him." Keeping a strong arm around the demon, tugging him along gently, Rivener headed for his bag and picked up the cell from inside, dialing Sevilin's number with a rather disproportionately eager smile.

Aphismet's eyes snapped open wide as Alex leaned across his leg like that, making herself very comfortable indeed. The flush on the white-haired man's face probably wasn't going to leave anytime soon, and he grinned rather dumbly. He'd never really had a bikini-clad woman draped on him like this. A goofy-sounding chuckle escaped his throat before he clamped his mouth shut.

"...I figured something happened, yeah. But you still seem very, uh... w-well. I'm glad. I'm good too, the family's great. I tried to convince Isi to come today, but you know him. Parties, pools, and bathing suits are not his forte. Eiry stayed with him. They might even be out on a gardening job, they weren't home when I called. ...Erm." Aphismet was just going on and on, wasn't he. He cleared his throat for what felt like the twelfth time and glanced aside, opening his can of cola and taking a deep, desperate gulp.

C'mon, it's just Alex, no need to be so stupidly nervous! It's just Alex wearing a bi-.. biki-... Buuhhhh-... Okay, so perhaps he was staring at this point. No one would blame him, right?! The instant he caught himself he looked away again, wracking his brain. What were they talking about? "S-so, uh. ...uhm..."

"I'd like to stay with you." He said it plainly, because he couldn't tell him with touch. He really couldn't even tell Rivener why he was so needy of the Sigel's presence, just...needing. It didn't make sense to the demon anymore than the words he tried to use in his mind to explain it, but being close to Rivener soothed him, made the past several weeks bearable somehow. Zul could only place it as the feeling that life went on, but the Sigel was his constant, unwavering happiness in it. It sounded mushy even to him, and he was glad he kept it to himself.

His blue eyes turned towards his woman, intending to tell her that they would be going and to give Rivener some privacy, but there were two things working against him. One - and most importantly - was Rivener's arm around him, and there was precious little in the world in that moment that would be able to tear him from the Sigel. Second, and more amusingly, was that she seemed quite distracted with Aphismet. Zul couldn't help but grin a little, one brow raised at their proximity; the teasing tables would be turned, tonight!

But for now, the Frei pressed subtley closer to the Scorpion, waiting patiently. He could float there all day and be quite okay with it so long as Rivener stayed in his company.

She couldn't help the grin that formed as Aphismet seemed to catch himself. Her green eyes closed for a moment, thinking fondly of Isi and Eiry, hoping they were doing well. "Yeah, I imagine he'd grump at us the whole time, but I'd never not want him here for it. I find it charming." Alex laughed softly, opening her eyes again and grinning at the chef, the first strains of mischief in her gaze.

"Speaking of which...what's your excuse for not being in the pool, hm? You're dressed for it." She righted herself and put her soda aside from the pool lip, taking one of the white-haired man's hands and giving a gentle tug as she took a step back into the water. "C'mon, only thing that bites in here is me, and I'm not that brave." Alex grinned teasingly at the man, mind already whirring on how she could further tempt him into the pool.

The call was brief and baffling. Firstly it hadn't been Sevilin or even Werika on the phone, it had been some random person named Alice that Rivener didn't know. This Alice person had then proceeded to exclaim at Rivener that God yes, come get him! in relation to Sevilin. Something to the effect of He needs to be out and about and get a change of scenery?

By the time Riv hung up, he had the distinct impression that something was wrong, but he'd make it his business to bring Sevilin out here. The water and the sunshine would surely cheer up the moody fairy-frei? With a pensive frown Rivener turned to Zul. "Well, he's still home. Let's go get him. Ah, I guess we should tell our Guardians first..." Still refusing to let Zul go, Rivener bent down to the pack and retrieved his jacket, carrying it for now. He'd put it on when they reached the bus stop or cab or whatever they were going to use to get to their destination. "Ready!" The Sigel declared as he smiled at his Zul, leading the way to the side of the pool but staying far enough away to avoid being splashed. Especially since it looked like Aphismet and Alex were about to get into the water...

"Aphi, Zul and I are going to go get Sevilin, okay?"

Aphismet had only just opened his mouth to try to reply to Alex's question when Rivener showed up with Zul in tow. "Uh, Sevilin? ...Ah, fine with me as long as Alex is alright with it." The chef wasn't paying as much attention as he should, too distracted by black hair and green eyes and so much lovely skin and fun-colored bathing suit... If he'd been paying attention he would have offered to drive the two. Right now though, all Aphismet wanted was for the two Raevans to leave so the humans could get back to what they were doing.

"So....you're positive you're not gonna even TRY to get close to the pool?"

Lillian cast her eyes away from the sparkling blue water and up to catch the visible eye of Iorek. Having finished claiming three lounge chairs for them, Lillian had waved to Aphismet and sent Tyson off to grab them a few drinks from the snack table. Yet when she turned around from this she expected to see Iorek flying over to chat to a raevan he knew. Instead she came face to face with sight that made her cringe. Even though Iorek would have liked to visit with the other raevans and people who sat about the pool, his fear of water wouldn't let him get close.

Iorek didn't even look down at her when she spoke to him. Instead, his eyes remained fixated on the shimmering water. It looked....awful. A gruesome memory flashed before him. One where he couldn't move, nor breathe, and the surface felt so far away.

Suddenly a slap to his shoulder pulled him out of the past and back to the present. Lil's hazel eyes were burning up at him. She certainly was not as happy as she was earlier.

The gargoyle gulped when he scrambled to recall what Lil had asked him, "Um....well...I think I might go over to the snack table..." Yep. By the looks of it the place where the food rested was the farthest from the pool. Of course he was headed there. "I'll grab you something."

"But you don't even eat..." Lillian's words trailed off when Iorek quickly left her side, hurrying to join Tyson by the smorgasbord of treats. She'd get him to conquer his fears...but with a huff of frustration Lillian decided that it would have to wait. She needed to find someone to talk to since standing alone, during a party, just didn't appeal to the lass.

Connor grinned, genuinely pleased that the young woman had come over to speak with him. Guess this wasn't going to be as terrible as he feared, cast a draft in a social gathering of complete strangers. Especially if this aggressive woman was any indication.

He was never one to shy away from an opportunity to flirt, it was just a part of his nature to let his charm either work wonders...or leave him smarting with a hand print emblazoned across his face. The blond leaned back against his hands and gave Ebony an open, blatant look of appraisal bordering on inappropriate, grin getting bigger.

"Hot one?" he teased, unable to stop himself "You've got that right."

Her slender brow rose slowly in a quizzical manner, a tiny smirk spreading across her lips. Did this guy just use a line on her? Not that she wasn't flattered by the compliment, but couldn't a person make a simple engaging question without being hit on? Then again wasn't she just blatantly flaunting her stuff earlier? Oh what the hell, it was a lazy sort of day and Ebony could use a little flirty fun.

Seeing the way that viridescent eye looked her over as best it could with the Brit half hidden under water, "You get a good enough look there bloke? I think your teeth will fall out if you grin any wider." The woman chuckled light. "Ebony Shade. And you are?"

The demon did not like the Scorpion's frown, the look on the Sigel's face so different from anything he'd seen before that it made him feel a bit on high alert. Zul complacently stayed at Rivener's side, letting him do the talking; he managed to grin at his woman and give her a wink, which was rewarded maturely with her tongue being stuck out.

She brightened, however, at the name being spoken. "Sevvie?" she purred, not releasing the chef's hands, her fingers instead toying with his. "Please do! I'd be very happy to see my favorite ocean boy!" Alex beamed her permission at the two, but like the white-haired man, it didn't occur to her that they may or may not need a ride there. She was still pleasantly distracted.

Zul squeezed the Sigel in his partial embrace, eager to get out of the crowd (for now; he'd take a good look when they got back) and just be, like he'd wanted to since he got home from their excursion. "We'll be back soon," he offered, even if he didn't have a clue if they would be or not. His blue gaze briefly turned over another new Raevan with massive forearms. Yes, he'd have to do more mingling when they returned!

Alex also caught sight of Iorek, lifting her free hand out of the water and waving to the unhappy looking Frei. "Ioreeeek~" she called happily; she hadn't seen that one since he was born! Since he was heading to the snack bin, the Italian returned the full shine of her attention back on Aphismet - which may or may not have been a bad thing. Both hands now entangled with his one, giving him another light tug. "You were saying?" she prompted with a devious smile.

Rivener grinned at knowing that they wouldn't be forbidden to go. Having their two guardians being so wrapped up in one another was a great boon; it gave the two Raevans many chances to see each other, and at the same time the humans were not paying them too much attention anymore. Riv was of course also glad they enjoyed each other so much, but at the moment all his thoughts were only for Zul and himself.

"Alright, see you later!" the Sigel offered, grinning. He basked in the squeeze he received, squeezing back just as much. Eager to be alone with the demon, Rivener slipped on his jacket and floated quickly towards the exit. They'd take a bus, Rivener decided. It would take a little longer, and they could be alone that much more before Sevilin joined them.

Aphismet had to admit that he didn't find it so unacceptable anymore, Zul and Rivener. It was starting to be quite apparent the two of them weren't just out to molest one another. Riv was never as happy as when he was around the demon, grinning and smiling like that with perfect honesty.

That's about as far as Aphismet's thoughts went before they turned back to Alex fully, grinning as the woman called over to Iorek, drawing Aphi's attention. "Ah, Tyson and Lil must be around too, then-... ah?" The Italian grabbed his hand in both of hers and was tugging at him again, trying to get him to go in.

"Alright, alright, I'm going!" The chef laughed, pulling his hand free just long enough so that he could pull his tank-top off, piling it off to the side of the stairs, leaving him only in his bathing shorts. Grinning, Aphi hopped down from his seat, splashing softly into the pool with a pleased gasp at the cool sensation. Dark brown eyes turned to Alex over a mischievous grin. "Happy? Who knew you were such a water-nut?" Chuckling, Aphi slipped his hand back into Alex's, under the guise of pulling her away from the stairs and more towards the middle of the pool.

Ty and Lil! She was almost distracted again, green eyes starting to pull away, but they were quickly returning to the chef as he finally gave in to her demands. It was only then that Alex realized that he'd be taking off his shirt, and that she wasn't wearing much to write home about either; the realization was stark on her face for a brief second, automatically giving Aphismet a once over. Ohdeargod, she just gave him a once over!

His reaction to the temperature of the water broke her spell, making her laugh appreciatively. "I do uh..." she ducked her head a little, pleased as he took her hand to guide her further into the pool, "...like to swim, I just don't get the chance much. It's why I live beach-side if at all possible."

Either she was feeling brazen or the cold water had removed most of her sense, but rather than walk easily with the chef, she slinked behind him and sprung onto his back, taking advantage of the weightlessness the water provided. With one bare knee and one clothed knee on either side of the unfortunate young man's hips and her arms around her shoulders, she giggled softly against his ear. "Glad you came in willingly, I was going to have to barter a certain situation and my current my sobriety," she teased, hinting to her last statement from their first date.

So much for 'not staying long.' Alex decided she'd lost most of her sense, in that moment, but it was fun!

Aphismet hadn't noticed how she'd looked at him, and thankfully at that. If he had, he would have blushed permanently. At least he was damned thankful for Ebony's strict training schedules; it had made his body much less on the thin-side and more on the well-defined side. He wasn't a muscle-bound guy by any means, but he looked fit. He'd never thought he'd be so grateful for his physical looks.

"I wish I could live beach-side too, it sounds so luxuri-uhh..."
Aphismet's permanent blush threatened to become a reality as Alex jumped onto his back. OH god, he could feel her knees on his sides, her arms on his shoulders, he b-breath as she laughed near his ear!! Reflexively Aphi's arms wound down against her legs to hold her up, and he leaned forward to bear her weight although it wasn't much at all in the water. Even though she might not spot how red his cheeks were, surely she must see how crimson his ears were!!

"B-barter what now? Sobriety? Situations? Wh-what are we talking about?" Aphismet struggled to mentally catch up, clearing his throat and trying to wipe the big silly grin from his face. He was enjoying this WAY too much.

"You know my house is open to you if you ever need to get away." The woman was quite pleased with herself, smiling against the surprisingly warm ear. It was easier to play and be silly when she didn't think too hard on it, like how they were dating, or how her actions were rather flirty...

So much for not thinking about it.

Alex pressed her brow against his shoulder, laughing in a clear, happy sound. Okay, so she was flirting! But they were...dating, so it was okay, right? That made her cheeks warm a little, but it could easily be attested to the sun. "Nothing, don't think about it!" she warned him with more laughter. The last thing she needed with Aphismet blushing so hard was to realize just what she was propositioning. "Jeez, I need to get out more," she chuckled, turning her head to rest her cheek on his shoulder instead.

It was nice. This, Aphismet...it was comforting. She had missed him, ever since the crazy expedition her job had sent her on; it couldn't be entirely unexpected that the touchy-feely-woman would want to be close. As long as she wasn't b-being inappropriate, naturally. "I'm glad to see you," she finally decided to say, a warm certainty in her voice. She needed this, this...crazy fun with this man.

It seemed to Kuna that many of the people here knew each other quite well, for there was much flirting going on all around. Even two of the half-bodies had been entwined with one another not too long ago. Hm, I suppose I may as well go enjoy the pool, she thought to herself after a few minutes more of sun-bathing. It is why I came here after all. Not wanting to disrupt all of those near the shallow end, she stood up and walked over nearer to the deep end before slipping in. The cool water felt exceptionally nice after having been in the sun for a while.

Aphismet thought that sounded amazing. Just spending a week or something at Alex's house? That sounded so wonderful. Maybe a bit later he could ask for some time off and go?... Rivener would like that too, and maybe even Isi and Eiry would want to go. Aphismet realized he'd only added everyone else into this plan after he'd realized that he'd originally only imagined him and Alex, alone, enjoying the sunset on her porch...

The blush was getting worse, not helped by the breathy laughter at his ear and the Italian's head on his shoulder. After a short silence, Alex just quietly declared that she was happy to see him and Aphismet laughed lightly in turn, finally. He glanced over and hiked Alex up onto his back properly, finally snapping out of the unease and into the more comfortable feelings. "I'm glad to see you too! No matter how confusing your conversation was just before!" Grinning, the chef took a deep breath and dunked himself completely underwater, forcefully taking the woman with him.

He brought them back up a second later, laughing. "I missed you a lot, you know. What happened to us saying we'd see each other soon after that date, hunh?"
