that reminds me of when our English class had to read Animal Farm ("What is the law? NO SPILL BLOOD!!") and to go along with that, we had to make projects relating to the topics of the novel. Point being, I had to research capitalism, and my first thought was, "Gee, I should blast "Capitalism" really loud, and dance around like Danny. " xd
ninja hey, it could've been fun *shrug*

Heh, we had to do a report on a musician for English and bring samples of their work along with illustrations of three of their songs. Well obviously I chose Danny, because I wouldn't be telling this story otherwise. It was weird, because I didn't have to look anything up, I just wrote it down off the top of my head. For the songs I did the Santa/Boogie duet, Controller, and Perfect System. I got a 100.

That's really cool. I wish I could have done that for a report. However I can do a music video, and it can be any song I want. And I'm just not sure which song to do, because they all bring up nice images in my head, and they would all be cool.... But I don't want to do one that already has a music vid of course. So, hmm.. Ideas? Oh yes, for that introduce thingy
Name: Ok, I go by Sojuske on every other forum thingy I go to. But my name is Sharon Favorite Boingo/Elfman song: I can't decide! ask me when the world ends and I'll get back to you. Although at the moment Glory be is in my head, so for the next 10 minutes, that's the song Favorite band member: Danny, followed by Steve and Avila. Favorite movie: Edward Scissorhands followed by NBC and Corpse Bride Other bands I like: Dir en Grey, GacktJob, Beatles, a great variety really Favorite food: Chocolate. I guess. I mean, that's what I was eating. I like all types of food actually Favorite actor: I canna choose! Okies erm... *ticks off* Johnny Depp. If only cause I remember his name. Favorite color: Red
And I came here because, I found it a few months ago. But I was inactive as hell because I found other forums (halloweentown and tbc to be specific). And nothing seemed to be going on here. But I decided to check this, got an inactivity warning, checked again. And went. "oh man, I need to stay here, I know people here and it's a great opportunity to meet more!"" so I am here. I was surprised to see Shell on here, but not too surprised. I wonder how many others I know are lurking around with different screennames than I am used to...

I did a report on 1984, and I'm dying to play the song 'Wake Up' to go along with it, but.. I don't think that's going to happen. whee
Also, does anyone match "Controller" to be about Brave New World? Besides the general idea and feel of it, and the title? And you mentioned Animal Farm and "No Spill Blood," which I also thought of listening to the song, but I think it's actually about the movie "Island of Lost Souls" ? Anyway, that was the clip they played before a concert in... '93, I think it was, and they were doing a big, "WHAT IS THE LAW?" kind of thing. It was.. really scary. sweatdrop

I mean, "we've simply done away with unnecessary friction" and they know they live in the the system. They just don't care. And No Spill Blood is about the movie Island of the Lost Souls, that is correct. Danny loves taht movie I think, and he wrote it based of that movie. ^_^ Those are clips from that movie when they sing No spill Blood. And that was the 93 concert. It starts out with clips from Island of lost souls, then tender lumplings (well, kindof) then insanity.

Ha! Awesome. And I had completely forgotten about Perfect System until now (I don't have a CD with that song on it, as of yet), and you're exactly right. Duh. *smacks self in head*

yeah, i've heard both; that it's based on Animal Farm and Island of Lost Souls
...and I can see why Danny used 1984 as the basis for Wake Up (It's 1984)...the book (for those of you that've read it), is....very Dannyesque twisted

I love that book. All of my favorite books have songs based off of them! Or, at least, songs that seriously remind me of them. And that is awesome. heart

I did like 1984. But, the way it goes... I read it while listening to insanity. That gives you an interesting feel when you read it. Insanity, seemed to match the book more than Wake Up from the beat.

Ah, I can definately understand that.
"Dead or Alive" will be forever linked to Stephen King's Pet Semetary in my mind. For obvious reasons. sweatdrop
