Curiosity overcame the old lion, as well as a touch of humor. This next one was a little different that many. Little may be underestimating it. He seemed to have quite the confidence in himself. Which could be good...or a touch dangerous.
He offered a nod, gathering up the offering before droping it into the flames. He could feel his eyes slightly watering from the heat, even though the early evening brough cool into their small valley. He could see a little of the lion in the smoke. If he wasn't careful, he could be a little much for the clan he was to go into. Though, it seemed that he had some interest in the pride as a whole that was genuine. The old lion relaxed, clearing his throat before he spoke.
"You belong in the Bird Clan, Mavunde." He said quietly. "Go with pride, as well as respect. Your new home awaits you, as I am sure you do as well."

Tawa'di was surprised at the fraily of the lioness that approached him next. He first assumed her to be old, but when she had gotten closer, it was not the case. Severe starvation seemed to be the cause. He didn't understand why, but let his eyes fall into the thick smoke that her offering produced. It was there that he got the hint of a curse, something regarding how she consumed food, and what it would do. Worry enveloped his mind, but he did his best to push it away. Perhaps it would be best for her to be within a clan, one that could take care of her. If she couldn't eat often, then she would be able to save her energy instead of wasting it wandering.
"You, my dear child, belong with the Earth Clan. They will take care of you, and I am sure that you will help take care of them. You have a long road ahead of you, but your love and faith will keep you going."

The next lioness to approach was young. And quite pretty, actually. She seemed a little nervous, but the old lion was only surprised with the ones that weren't nervous at all. Surrounded by strangers, accepting their fate, it was a very important day for them.
The white hair burned almost instantly, but the smoke lingered in the air. It was a very basic story. Tawa'di was mildly surprised about how many Pridelanders had made their way over here. He knew of the lands, and what they held. Perhaps the children born there wanted something different.
"Ma'rihn, your bright, smiling face will be most welcome in the Mantis Clan. You have an infection smile, and you will certainly keep the hearts of all high. Welcome home, dear child." He offered a smile.

Njozi bows respectfully once more, and returns to Makonde's side. He's still getting used to the idea of a pride like this, so open and welcoming and... safe. But with a smile on his muzzle and a new spring in his step, he's beginning to feel something strange. He's beginning to feel at home.--- The Bird Clan! How auspicious, he thinks, pleased at the new potential for plays on words. Cloudy skies, birds, darting about and singing... already he can imagine the tattoos he'll request, when he feels that he's earned the right to decorate himself with the markings of the pride. With a respectful dip of his head Mavunde is off, wandering in search of the other new Bird Clan members he'd seen be chosen earlier.

Though only a ghost of a smile touched Hai's face, there was true warmth and relief in her eyes as Tawa'di offered her kind words.
"Thank you. I will try to deserve those words." she assured him, then moved away to allow the next lion to approach Tawa'di. He'd seemed like the kind and capable sort; she liked him. And the Earth Clan? That seemed to fit her, she thought, and she wondered if that was where her son had ended up.
A dizzy spell hit her as she moved towards the group. Hai slowed, closing her eyes against the reeling world and the sudden increase in the cries of the Hungry. Soon, she promised herself. Soon. Then she might eat her fill, and feel like a living being again.

Paka sighed with relief. The Sky Clan was where she belonged. She bowed to Tawa'di in gratitude and moved silently away for another to take their place.
She moved towards others who had been chosen for the Sky Clan and waited silently for the end of the ceremony. Then, and only then, would her search continue. For now she would rest and celebrate with the other members of her pride.

((So sorry just got back from holiday))
Hakima arrived with his gift, it was a few feathers of various colours that he had found laying around. They were beautiful and so he decided they were more then good enough for a gift. He stepped forward towards the elder lion and laid the feathers down by his feet. He hoped that these would be good enough.
"Hello... I am Hakima and I have brought this gift in hope that I would be allowed to stay in your lands." He was a little shy and was obviously submissive. He wasn't even sure what to do which made him feel a little awkward but he hoped he would be allowed to stay as some of the others here had been.

As the late evening turned into night, the old lion nodded at the next one to approach. He seemed a little nervous; normal. Perhaps that was why he was one of the last to approach him. If he could see into the darkness, only a little more than a handful remained.
"That will work," he said softly, dropping the feathers into the flame. Though it seems he had only had them recently, they still told a bit about the lion, and about how he probably needed a good home to be in.
"Your soul belongs with the Shadow Clan," he said gently, a smile on his face. "You will find comfort there, and grow to find these lands are as your own, and not something you are merely living on."

Hakima nodded at the old lion,
"Thank You, I do hope that is true."
The Shadow Clan. He smiled to himself repeating the old lions words in his head. A home at last, after all it was what he wanted and here he had been given a home and placed in a clan. Now all he needed to do was to find the rest of the clan members and to meet them.

A new land, a new people, a new home...and with it, a new adventure! Etana'Dalila glanced skyward as she waited for her turn, trying her hardest to fight the urge to wander off and explore her this new place. She held a curious expression while she waited, proof of her minor internal struggle. Thankfully, she was somehow able to calm herself.
When her turn finally came she approached the elderly lion with stride, a smile spread wide across her maw. Tana bowed her head politely before offering a small, very worn, necklace. It was one she'd made when she was still young, so it no longer fit around her neck now. Still, it was a cherished craft all the same.
"Hi!" she said, a bit of her bottled excitement escaping into her voice. "I'm Etana'Dalila. If it's alright with you, I'd like to stay and call this place home." Hardly the proper introduction, but in all her excitement she really hadn't given it that much thought. The words just...came.

Tawa'di brushed the necklace into the flames, sorry to see it go. The choice of what to offer was up to the participant, and perhaps she felt like it would show what she wanted most out of her life. The smoke rippled upwards as the flames consumed the necklace.
"Bright child, Etana'Dalila. Your excitement is visible in yourself, as well as in the smoke your offering has shown me. You will reside in the Sky Clan, where you will discover yourself and your purpose there. You will have much to learn, but your personality will shine through, and you will adapt well. You will become a child of our lands. So, welcome." He finished with a nod.
There were so few to go, and he was greatful. The moon was shining her glow on the lands below, where the flame's light did not reach.

Tana felt almost regretful that she'd offered the necklace, however as the smoke lifted and he spoke, the feeling quickly passed. With the smile still unwavering, the lioness returned his nod with with one of her own. "Thank you." After bowing once more the lioness took her leave.
"Sky Clan huh?" she murmured, her smile having been replaced with more of a curious look. "I wonder what he meant by 'much to learn'..." Though she was still somewhat confused, she was never one to think too much over any one thing, so after only a few seconds Tana gave a shrug. "Guess I'll have to wait and see. Bring it on!" she said as she approached the other future Sky Clan members, the smile on her face as bright as ever.

Worry was plain on the young lioness face as her turn finally came about. Ruko'miale usually wasn't one to over think things in such a way... But, when trying to enter into a pride with ideals and traditions so different than the one in which you were born, it was hard to be carefree. Though her mind was indecisive, her paws had apparently already chosen for her. Slowly, she came before Tawa'di, bowing her head low as she sat before him.
Carefully, she slid a bracelet from her paw, placing it before him. It was simple, and crude at best. Crafted from bone, and rabbit hide. It was the only physical tie that remained from her life within the Motoujamii lands. A gift from her father. And to see it burn would bring her nothing but joy. A true and definite release from the darkness and violence of her past. A new start.
With the offering before the old lion, she again bowed her head to him respectfully, her tone kind and nervous as she spoke. " Tawa'di... My name is Ruko'miale. I have heard much of your pride from one of the younger members... " She spoke out slowly, her mind drifting to Kohana. She wouldn't dare hope to enter the clan of his family. Right now her only thought was to be accepted at all. " I give this offering in the hope of being accepted into this land... May I stay..? " She asked him softly.

(sorry for the wait! ;; )
The old lion could count who was left on one paw. Amazed that they were reaching the end, though also greatful, he gave a bow to the small girl approaching next. She seemed anxious, and the old lion could only wonder why. Perhaps the idea of living somewhere completely independent of your family.
He nudges the bracelet into the flames, the smoke swirling immediately from the hide that was left. It showed of a land that he had only heard of, things that he didn't agree to, and the young girl didn't either. She had wanted to find a home that she would feel comfortable, and perhaps safe in.
"I see, Ruko. Perhaps this is the home you seek. Only time will tell if it is indeed that, but for now stay within the Shadow Clan, where you wish to live. I will keep what I saw to myself," he promised with a soft smile. "Go, and enjoy life."

[ Quite alright, Saf. ^^ ]
Shadow Clan... Then she would see Kohana once more! A smile split across her maw, nervousness replaced quickly with joy as she gave the old lion one more bow. " My thanks, Tawa'di. I have faith that I have followed my path correctly. Please be well. " She returned to him, before finally raising to step away and allow the next lion their turn before the male.
A sigh of relief escaped her as she padded away, finally feeling comfortable enough to take in the peaceful land. Her step was slow as she made her way to the members of the Shadow Clan. Her new home... No matter what the future held, she would not doubt this peaceful path.
