'If thats the case, I could always knock you out." He shrugged. "Either way, if thats not Edward then we are in deep s**t. After all, could you imagine if both Ana and Brannon are turned? We'd be in for one hell of a war right there."

Jonas did a facepalm. "Phantom, its this way." He lead her out of the ruins and towards Basil's Dark forest.

The twins studied the ruined buildings from the top of a large wall, Darian playing with a crystal ball as Abel stared pensivly down at the ground below them. waiting for a few more moments Darian let out a sigh, saying shortly. " we are going to be here all bloody night, arnt we? What about that lass in the pub, i was going to ask her out when you dragged me out the door."
" Come off it, Darian. would you really choose the wench over finding what we are after?" the corner of his mouth twitched as he glanced at his twin, adding with a devilish smirk. " besides... do you really think she is clever enough to play the thief game with us?"
" Not likely." In perfect symphony they both answered the question, sharing a knowing look before Abel returned to studying the ruins. no one could match them when it came to a game of snatch and sell.

(--Three Years Later--)
The beast didnt move anymore.. the chains circled already bloody skin around his wrists, ment to hold him up.. but he didnt feel them anymore, simply standing and waiting for a chance to strike out again. he looked human now, his hair darker and longer and his hieght increaseing.. that ment time had passed, didnt it? he didnt care.. everything bled together into one long second, what did time matter now? a flash of black fur danced in his closed eyes, a soft voice asking him to stay.. but stay where? who was she? every time he reached for her face it fled into his mind, leaveing him to the vampires games alone... his eyes opened, gaze harsh as he started stait ahead in the darkness. it was safe to be alone.. before she came. it is her fault i cant die.. i close my eyes to end it and she keeps asking that i stay.. "Why?!!" infuriated he tore the chain on his foot from the wall, amber eyes cold as he rasped out. " let me die, damnit!"
It was later that the vampire came back, his amused gaze takeing in the broken chain as he chuckled. it was no use talking to the beast, no human was left to converse with anyway.. so he simply pressed a hot iron strap against the beasts leg in punishment, curling it around the skin and sticking it in the wall as a new chain... but the creature never made a sound, and Connor fled the room as soon as he could. he had wanted a beast.. it seems he finally had made on. locking the cell door he returned to the hidden stair well, walking up to the ruins and turning back to stare down the dark steps. " What a pitty.. doesnt even fight anymore."

Aeryn could smell him. Relic was so close. When a man apeared she ducked behind a big bolder and held in a growl. Her body shook in rage, smelling Relic all over the man. She looked over at Ilasis and pointed to the man, and smiled. She mouthed, He's mine. before shifting to her human form and walking up to him. "Excuse me sir, I've seen to have gotten myself lost." She waited a moment before her rage completely took over and she began to snear at him.
Ilasis came running up and landed on a bolder in front of Connor. "I believe you have something very important to us." She smiled and growled, taking out a small blade. She stalked towards him, never breaking eye contact with him.

He studied the women for a moment, then grinned as he turned and started back down the stair way.. oddly cheerful as he mused. " Took your time, didnt you? dont worry i dont mind, he is perfected... come see." He seemed fairly saine, his voice calm and movements smooth.. but a look in his eyes shown how far he really was from the real world. opening the door he flicked the carry-around lamp on, looking at Relic's slumped figure as he clicked his tongue. " Now now, you'll cut your wrists again. it isnt polite to bleed infront of guests."
No responce came, the man allowing the shackles to hold him aloft as he closed his eyes. so be it.. guests ment a beating.. with luck this one would end him.

Aeryn ran down the stairs and stopped, staring at Relic. She ran up and hugged him gently, not wanting to her hurt him. "I found you, I finally found. you." She started to sob and sank to her knees.
Ilasis stayed behind Connor and bared her fangs. "Let him go. NOW!"

Connor blinked owlishly, looking at Ilasis as if he couldnt catch her words. finally they clicked and he chuckled slyly, snaping his fingers and saying in a sing song tone. " As you wish.. Beast, kill these two and ill give you what you want."
His heart stopped beating at those words. he would kill him.. finally, he would be set free. the woman infront of him continued to talk, her voice too familiar as he stood strait. with a body jerk he snapped the chain links holding his arms, takeing another moment to break the bonds on his legs before lifting the girl by her neck. Dark amber eyes studied her face, and he lowered her slightly so his hold wouldnt hurt her. in a rough, whispering tone he asked as he stroked her cheek with his thumb. " you... why wont you let me die..?"
" She wants to hurt you, kill her so i can end your suffering Beast." Conner said lightly, as if the jackal were a fool for not imidately attacking the girl. he didnt even know the beasts real name.. over the years it hadnt mattered much, he doubted if even the beast knew its name now. stupid thing wouldnt even talk to him.

Aeryn cried and put her hand on top of his. "Because I love you Relic." She moved closer to him and placed her head on his chest. "You are safe now. Please come home with me. Please come home."
Ilasis growled and grabbed the vampire by the throat, squeezing. "I would kill you, but I think someone else wants to do that." She hit him over the head with the butt of her blade really hard.

" Aeryn..?" his eyes faded to a dark teal as he frowned. but.. she wasnt real.. was she? a few sketched memories came to him, the woman near them standing with him at a cave entrance.. then backwards to Aeryn calling out as he finally broke the fever that held her. what was real? the sound of Connor hitting the ground made Relic tense, his eyes flashing back to Amber as he crouched and froze.. waiting for something to attack as he kept one arm around Aeryn's waist protectively.
Connor went down without a fight.. stoping his heart and lungs as he watched the scene through slited eyes. oh.. his job was done. that one would return to Asa's home, then kill everything that set him off.. but that girl.. she wasnt in the plans.. snaping up he caught Ilasis's throat from behind, his chin on her shoulder as he chuckled. " mabye i grabbed the wrong one that night.. either of you would have been better than this failure. he wont even kill on order anymore.."
There was a two second space before he sank his fangs into her skin, Relic pulling Ilasis behind him and shifting as he tackled Connor. there was a sickening crunch as he bit throught the vampires neck.. then nothing but the jackal standing there panting.. ashs trailing from his mouth to join the pile on th floor.

Aeryn walked up beside him and grabbed his arm. "Come on, lets go." Her voice was soft as she tenderly pulled on his arm, getting him to walk forward. She got him outside and stood there, looking him over. "Oh god." Her tears started to flow again at what she saw and looked up into his eyes. "I wish I would have found you sooner. I wish I wouldn't have let you go to talk to Ilasis."
Ilasis came out of the cave cussing on her way up. "Stupid Vamp." She walked up to Relic and sighed. "Will you let us help you home? Or do you want to try to be a tough boy and walk home yourself?" She knew how Relic had been, but so much has changed in three years.

He let out a low growl at Ilasis, ears pinned back as he started off on his own.. only to pause. unable to speak in his jackal form he shifted, his eyes teal once more as he looked at the two.. almost.. sheepishly? " Where is home..?" he couldnt understand the 'three years' bit just yet.. so he chose to fight the urge to argue, and forced his voice to work.

"Ilasis, you go on a head. I will take him home." She walked up to Relic slowly, holding her hand out for him to take. "You and I will go home together." She stood next to him, close, smiling a little.
Ilasis nodded, walked passed them and gently patted on Relic's shoulder. "Its over now, you can do what you want with your life." She smiled and headed back to Howlers.
After Ilasis left she closed the space between her and Relic, holding him tight but not too tight. "I thought I lost you. I couldn't find you Relic. I couldn't find you." She cried and held onto him, afraid he would leave her.

Disoriented he held her close, breathing slowly as if controling himself before he relaxed. couldnt find me.. " you searched for me..?" it didnt seem to click for a long moment, then he stiffened and hugged her tighter as he grounded out. " I almost killed you, Cara.. i wanted to. you wouldnt shut up, every time i almost made it to the darkness you would call me back.. how long was i held here..?" he was glad now.. that he hadnt ignored her, that that voice in his mind was truthful. she had found him, though.. there wasnt much of him left to find. as they spoke he started walking, encourageing her to help him leave this place. if he staid.. he was likely to turn rabid.. again.
