Letho could feel him staring. She kept her head down to avoid his intense gaze until she heard him moving away.
She followed at a short distance, noting that the sun was already much closer to the horizon than she had expected.

He stopped at the edge of a small cliff of a hill that overlooked a large expansion of fields as the sunset loomed closer to the horizon. He looked back towards Letho and waited patiently for her smaller legs to bring her to his side.

She moved as a normal pace towards him, but being smaller it probably seemed rather slow.
Letho hesitated for half a second before moving so that she was an "arm's length" away from him, and sat, staring out over the field and then squinting towards the sun.
"You're right." she practically whispered, "It does have a nice view."

"You are happy, then?" He questioned, tilting his muzzle down and looking towards her and then towards the burning sun.

Letho was not sure exactly how she should answer. It was a nice spot but she only stayed because she felt she should make some sort of ammends.
Was she happy with the spot? Well, the view WAS nice and she did ask Nightshade's Fury if he knew where there was a good one. And she did say that she wanted to see the sunset...
Maybe she really would come back tomorrow.
Instead of saying any of that she simply nodded, "Yes."

"Then I have done my job," he mumbles.
He didn't really know why she had suddenly wanted to see the sunset. It was just a sun, wasn't it? It was around from dawn to dusk, she must see many of them, even in her pasture. He seen the sun set even in his box... unless the flap was on.

"Um..." she looked around the rather empty field. Except for a bird here and there there really wasn't any other wildlife.
"Why is it that there are hardly any animals here?" she asked, returning her gaze to the skyline.

He looked right and then looked left. "Maybe I scared them away," he joked.

Letho looked up towards the deep blue fox-pony's muzzle and blinked. She thought he may have been joking but wondered if it was the truth.
But- "Oh." she replied, turning her entire head so that she was looking straight at the setting sun.
She squinted her eyes and fell silent as she watched the sun begin its descent behind the horizon, the sky was a beautiful pink and orange colour, just a sunset should be.
"Beautiful." she mused, mostly to herself.

Nightshade's Fury glanced from the sun to the other pony beside him. He scanned over her soft peach coat and pleasant teal hair, embedded with flowers and ribbons. A sight indeed.
"I've seen better things," he murmured.

Letho intended to ask "Like what?" as her gaze moved from the setting sun to Nightshade's Fury but the words were caught in her throat when she saw him examining her.
"Is something the matter?" she asked instead, attempting to change the mood a bit.

He stared at her more intently, his grin softening as he took a step forward, lowering his muzzle near hers. "I'm looking at it."
And then he pulled back, and looked back at the sun. "No, no, nothing's the matter. The sun still sets at the end of the day."

She didn't mean to, but Letho was suddenly holding her breath.
Her orange eyes widened slightly and then she closed them in the same instant that she let out the breath she was holding.
"I..." she took a deep breath, gasping slightly from holding the air in so long just a few seconds ago. "I suppose the stars are pretty here, too?" she questioned. Opening her eyes to stare up at the darkening sky.

He looked up at the sky, pondering for a moment and then back down to the smaller pony. He grinned, "Why don't you see for yourself."

"But..." she started. Her eyes roamed back and forth across the sky, picking out stars that were bright enough to twinkle through while the sun was still out, though just barely.
Truthfully she stayed a lot longer than she had intended; she'd wanted to get home before the sun set but it did not seem that would be happening... And she found herself not wanting to leave.
"I suppose I can stay longer."
