(( 18/20 ))

Yoder stood resolute amidst Tana's long incantation. With Tana's blade now enchanted with a layer of lava rock, Yoder prepared for his counter-offensive. As Tana's devilish persona flipped its way to him, Yoder spoke the words, "Noor Tahreec Sang Simin!" His miniature moon, which had been hovering in place since he commanded it to near the beginning of the battle, made an arc toward orbiting above Yoder's head once more. However, it would not remain passive when it returned.

Tana's multiple somersaults ended in an aerial downward slice position. Yoder had no way to know how strong Tana's sword would be with its magical augmentation, so he let his scythe lean by his side. His petite moon had returned to him by this time, and, with a two-handed pushing gesture, he launched the moon at his descending friend. Keeping one hand up to continue the motion of his lunar cannonball, Yoder retrieved his scythe with his free hand, and held it upside down (blade curving forward and up.

This would be each's final attack.

((You'll have no idea how hard it was for me not to just shout "Getsuga Tenshou" while writing this. It was also difficult to keep from laughing at the aforementioned thought.))

The attack was met by a moon projectile, though the Obsidian Spell did what it could to deflect the moon to the side, putting a decent crack within the rock-solid shell. The steel base held firmly despite being struck. Somehow after deflecting, his momentum had altered. Slowed down, and Tana's blood enraged self wouldn't stand for it as his body's weight was somehow shifted violently enough to catapult the bloody mass that was Tana's body straight at Yoder, his scythe in preparation for attacking and defense. As the sword caught itself upon the scythe's pole with immense rigor.

The red in Tana's eyes drained, but the smile did not. He had been watching the entire time from inside his blood-lusting eyes and simply went with the rhythm. Letting go with his left hand, pushing ever more with the right, he reached for his casting pistol once more. Raising it only merely out of the holster, he pointed it at the ground once more and fired. Raising himself up with some decent propulsion, he threw the gun aside, both hands again on the Obsidian sword and swung diagonally with his entire might and muster. If Tana were to lose again, he would do so giving the fight his entirety. Winning or losing didn't matter, it was enjoying the battle. This, Tana was definitely experiencing as his mouth snickered and laughed through clenched teeth.

(( 20/20 ))

The moon struck Tana, dealing little damage but altering his trajectory. No longer needing to control the moon now that it had served its purpose, Yoder let the cracked sphere land naturally. He now held his scythe with both hands. Tana's blade connected with the scythe's pole between where his hands were gripping the weapon. The clash made their weapons shudder, but both combatants seemed frozen in place.

Tana then quickly grabbed his magic gun and used it to propel himself upward. Yoder didn't expect this manuever, and his katana slid its way up the pole. Though Yoder's hand suffered a nasty gash as the blade rose, he held in firmly.

Not considering a defense, Yoder released his bloody hand's grip on the far side of the scythe's pole. Quickly lowering the end of the pole (though simultaneously raising the entire scythe higher) and raising his leg to meet it, he stepped on the end of the staff. This motion sent the scythe swinging toward and hopefully into (or across) Tana's back.

This weak final assault mattered little, for in taking the time to perform it, Yoder left himself in a terrible position against Tana's sword. The metallic shaft swung its way to the side of Yoder's head. The blade connected, and he felt it dig deeply into his skull. The force of the blow sent him toppling sideways, his mask shattering and his eye cover tearing. Landing roughly, his marble-white skin gained a fleshy hue as his vision gave way to crimson and finally blackness. Several of his ribs, having been fractured earlier, broke from the force of his landing. His cold white eyes squinted as he cracked a final smile, "That was fun, Tana..."

"At last . . . !" Magni races down the stands into the next available chamber as it opens. With the system up and running, he smiles and opens the profile manager. A new option or two comes up in the holographic interface, scrolling in a circle before him:

"System testing complete. Now fully functional. Would you like to resume preferences?"

"Show preferences." Magni stands with a smirk- the system recorded his last duel's mods and items. This could come in handy for quick resumes in later fights. For now though, he cancels out of that and leaves the comment floating in his mind of 'fully functional.' While that bounces in his mind, he has a brainstorm for this fight. Normally, he is a more fantasy and melee fighter. This time . . . this time he will be fully functional as well!

Making a series of choices that suits his needs, he grows more and more anxious to let the fight begin. Without thinking too much, he accidentally checks an option while finishing the setup. Labeled "Random Environment," Magni just prepares himself for a grassy field as per the normal. The wave of energy flows over him and his mind is assaulted with the sensations of his new outlook . . .

. . . and the smell of concrete. Opening his eye, he sees a desolate metropolis before him. Broken buildings, some leaning into each other line the sky. Here on street level, rubble litters the cracked and shattered roads. Cars line the street as if parked haphazardly and then sent through an earthquake. This place was once a commercial hub of business. Now, it is a pile of shattered life devoid of any activity. A feeble wind blows through stirring up some dirt, but that is the only thing that moves.

Standing in awe for a moment at the difference and devastation, Magni comes to his senses with a malicious smile behind the metallic mask he wears. Enacting his pack and boots, he leaps high- flying through the air only to be shadowed by five small drones. Taking a perch inside a nearby building window, he takes up a sniper position and scans the area with his tech eye. Taking out a blaster, he judges aim and range in this ruin. All is in place, now he has but to wait for Mirouni.

Mirouni stood slowly from his sitting position as he watched the current fight come to a close.
At last, it was his turn to have some fun.
He walked casually over to the now-open profile chamber, his hands quickly tapping out buttons to show his preferences for the fight. When he was satisfied, he selected the "join fight" option and relished the sensation of energy flowing over him.
He opened his new eyes in a world ripe with chaos and destruction. His right hand tensed over the energy-staff in his hand, and his heightened senses scanned the landscape, looking for some sign of Magni.

The lush landscape faded, and Yoder was left standing unharmed on the pedestal. Tough the word "LOSER" peppered the screens that he once used to select equipment, it didn't matter. He left the chamber just as Magni rushed into it, eager for his own upcoming battle. Taking a seat amidst the bleachers to spectate, Yoder thought, One tie, one loss, maybe next time a win?

Tana's form reunited with consciousness and he ran out of the control unit's room. Rushing towards his good friend, he leaped and hugged Snowman with mighty vigor. "That was fun!" Taking a seat next to Snowman, he too was eager to watch the upcoming match.

"And here . . . we . . . go!" A whisper escapes him as the visualization of his opponent arrives. The technical data of this form shows far too many weaknesses. Barely clothed, much less armored; a staff for weapon, possibly claws/teeth as well; only a azure flame field for defense. For a moment, Magni is dissappointed- but then remembers a tenet of battle: never underestimate the opponent. Sublimating his static field, his mental upgrade link commands the defensive drones to fan out in the area. Keeping his phase blade holstered, he wonders if blasters are a bit unfair here. An evil glint shows in his remaining eye as he thinks Cest La Vie!

As the zoom across the buildings and stick to the shadows, Magni covers their slight humm by opening fire. Leaping out of the window, he holds position in the air with his jet pack and boots in a hovering maneuver, using assisted targeting to aim a hail of blaster fire at Mirouni. Purposefully aiming around the target, he begins to descend, keeping a respectable distance. Once within fifty feet, he begins to change tactic with his blaster and begins to aim more at the staff.

"Here kitty, kitty, kitty. I do hope you are better than you appear to be!" The voice is calm and slightly condescending, a quiet chuckle barely heard in the near-monotone words.

Articx sat down in the seat behind Tana and Yoder. "A good fight. Perhaps after Magni and Mirouni are done, one of you would fight me? I welcome either one of you." Looking forward he waited to see what Mirouni would do.

Mirouni stood strangely still as he watched Magni's approach. His blue eyes glinting with a slight tinge of amusement at the taunts. He side-stepped the blasts that came to close to him for comfort, and deflected the ones he could not with a quick pulse from his energy field.
As Magni made his move, Mirouni followed suit, striking the ground with the end of his staff and launching himself into the air in a column of blue-energy.
He pointed the now-inflamed head of his staff and Magni, a thin smile crossing his face.
"Final Flash." He whispered, releasing a massive burst of fire and energy from the head of his staff in the form of a beam. Should the beam strike successfully, it should disable some of Magni's equipment.

"NANI!?" Not expecting this lepoard form to have such a power, Magni is stunned for a split second. That pause is all the time he needs to be at a disadvantage. Rather than taking the superior position in the air, he is on even keel and did not consider a direct assault. It seems he did underestimate Mirouni after all . . .

With a brilliant glow of staff heading right at him, Magni is forced to use something of his own that he had hoped to keep for later. Causing a minor overload in the circuts of his interface suit, a globe of electromagnetic energy surrounds him. The shock is painful, but not as bad as the strike would have been. With that etherial barrier in the way, most of the staff's energy is deflected- but some does get through and disrupts the field. Behind his cybernetic eye, Magni reads damage to the suit, and initiates a self-repair system. It won't be ready for a short bit, but the repairs are underway.

The momentum starts to send him down to earth, having caused a disruption in his commands to his pack and boots. As he falls, Magni redirects power to his chest interface and smiles darkly. With nothing to push off of, and such close range, this should hurt his opponent. The gem begins to glow brilliantly, and Magni opens his arms wide and yells his attack as well.

"My turn! PROTON CANNON!" A wide beam of energy as large as his torso emits from the interface, making a direct blast at Mirouni. The force knocks Magni faster to the ground, but if it connects . . . it will be worth it.

((Sorry that it's taken me so long Magni-sama, I've had some slow internet connections recently..))

Mirouni had to act fast to avoid the brunt of the massive beam heading his way. He knew at this point that he would not be able to completely dodge the attack, but he should be able to prevent most of the damage from making contact.
First, he fired twin bursts of energy to his left, throwing him into a spin, then fired a third, large blast to push him away, and a fourth to absorb some of the attack. When the smoke cleared, he stood with a few patches of charred skin and flesh, sparse droplets of blood accentuating the scene.
He smiled defiantly, and raised his staff over-head, charging up a large amount of power.
"Let's see how I do, shall we?" He said with a slight snarl, spinning his staff in a blinding circle and launching himself in the air with twin blast from his feet.
As the staff spun, his energy coelesced at the head, then begin to fire rapidly in the form of large balls of energy, each head straight for Magni.

Falling, pushed down by the cannon's blast, Magni desperately tries to re-initiate his aerial systems. A very unforgiving concrete ground comes up to meet him rather quickly until a breath of life comes from his pack, and he laughs loudly as a very nasty impact is averted. True, the impact is dodged by a very sparse few feet, but there was still a few showers of sparks as his boots slid on the ground.

His chest still smoking lightly from the power output, a HUD readout shows the systems coming back online one at a time. Connections restablished, including a counter or two to the newest threat. This time however, there is no shock. Having used an energy blast to rise, and then a charged melee strike, Magni is not caught off guard this time.

"Again? Surely this is not your only trick!" The taunt is backed up with a counter of missiles. From his shoulder-mounted launchers a salvo launches in a staggered formation. Each slightly more delayed than the last, they perform a dual function. Before, when meeting the energy of the staff, a counter of simple energy was not enough. Thus a physical object starts the counter and the subsequent explosion should be enough to stop the orbs. At the same time, those explosions will offer an optical barrier giving Magni a chance to move position in case more of those energy blasts come his way. Missiles are limited, but there is no telling if those blasts are.

Of course, three of the missiles are aimed mid-high, the final one is set on a lower scale. Firing beneath the blasts, it races through the turmoil and is set to track Mirouni himself. After that salvo fires, Magni fires up his rocket boots and uses them to dash sidelong into some more sheltered rubble, hoping he did not get seen in that flight. Either way, Magni starts up a link to his special little surprise, the HUD confirming that all five are online and waiting.

Mirouni's mind raced with a way to avoid the missiles, but still keep his energy from depleting to much. Deciding it was better to be safe than sorry, he surrounded himself in a web of energy with a twirl of his staff, and displaced his location to a new one several yards away.
Seeing the third missile swerve around to track him, Mirouni imbued a blast of energy with his dna signature, and fired it head-on into the explosive, essentially preventing it from reaching him before it detonated.
He let out a light breath, relieved that he had escaped the missiles, but upset that he had to resort to a teleportation. They were limited, and took a great deal of energy to perform.
Looking down at the ground however, Mirouni saw that his ruse had played out to his advantage, Magni had chosen a pile of rubble to hide behind almost directly below him.
He spun his staff above his head, calling up a great swirl of energy, then trust it downwards, releasing it in a large beam of power that twisted an undulated as it rocketed towards Magni.
