"I don't know, maybe you just didn't notice you were overworking yourself, or perhaps you got chilled working with those coolers..." He shrugged though knew what she really meant. "Oh, wait, how come I'm doing all this?" He got her settled, pillows propping her up a bit as he made sure she was comfortable.
He pulled back, stretching a little and shrugging again. "I dunno... just bein' neighborly maybe?" Though they both knew that was BS. "Eh, I just stopped by to return some of your tools, and saw you needed help." He looked at her with his brownish green eyes, just stating the obvious. "what kind of person would I be if I just left you in the condition you were in. You were about to pass out. I may be a useless b*****d, but I'm not heartless..." He had this complete nonchalance about him as he just looked at her evenly.

"You're... you're not a useless b*****d." Teagan stared down into her soup for second before taking up the vitamins and glass of orange juice. It was an awkward moment as she tried to drink as neatly as she could, but being sick made her motor skills a little off, so there was just a bit of dribbling down her chin. Her cheeks went red as she anxiously wiped it all away from her chin and neck.
"No, you're definitely not a useless b*****d. I'm too hard on everyone. I just want them to save themselves from whatever it is I think will get them..."

"Hm." Nat smiled slightly, looking down and shaking his head. he said nothing else for a moment before looking up a bit, stuffing his hands into his pockets. "Nah, I am a useless b*****d. I have abilities and the means to do things I just.... Don't." He gave her a charming smile. "So that makes me useless..." He looked down at his feet again, finding it all very amusing. "I appreciate the worry though..." He glanced back up at her, afraid to let her see he was actually thankful. "It's nice to have people give a damn you know?" He looked down again, shuffling his feet a bit before reality hit him. "But I gave that up awhile ago on my own terms. So...thanks but no thanks." He looked up, nodding again, but this time, giving her a gentle smile instead of a sarcastic one.
He turned around to the door but stopped. "Oh...I finished the order. I'm just putting finishing touches on it now. Finish eating and resting a bit more and I'll let you see it. After that, I'll jstu stick around until you have color back in that pretty little face of yours...besides orange I mean..." He gave her a wink before smiling and heading out the door, before she could get a response in.

"You finished? But--" But he was gone. He'd actually had a real conversation with her that hadn't involved yelling or criticism for the other person. And he was gone in the blink of an eye, to retreat into the house area below.
Teagan did finish the soup and orange juice. Regardless of how badly she wanted to go back to sleep, she moved the tray to the floor below and scooted out of bed and out the door. The way downstairs was a little shaky, and she had to rely on the railing or a good bit of stability, but she made it down into her work area to see Nat toying with some greenery. The arrangement and the directions for it were sitting on the table, looking beautiful.
"Nat..." she croaked. "Nat, that's just what they wanted... But you need the ribbon. It's in a box over here..." Teagan pointed to a white cardboard box upon a chair. Inside was a large ribbon with the company name printed on a plastic disc right in the middle. Just that around the vase neck, and it would be ready for pick up the next day, at the crack of dawn.

Nat raised his eyebrows, turning to look at her, then to where she pointed nodding. "Ah, i was wondering where the ribbon was..." He took it and promptly attached it to the arrangement. "So...its good right? look it over, let me know what i didn't do right." Usually that'd be a dare from him, but this time it was more of a honest request. He knew this was her livelihood, it paid her bills. It had to be right.

Teagan nodded a few more times than she needed to and said in a voice rough with sickness, "It's beautiful, Nat. There's nothing wrong. Really. We just.. gotta put it in the cooler and everything will be fine."
It was a very large arrangement that was rather unwieldy for one person to carry over, so she took one side of the vase, and waited for Nat to open the cooler before taking the other. She was so emotional seeing the finished product so close that her eyes began misting up. Not only because she was so touched that Nat would help her after she'd been so horrible to him, but because she was so incredibly frustrated with being sick. There were so many other things that she had to get done, but she couldn't ask Nat to do any more than he had.

"Ah- no, no, no... You're too physically weak right now... I can manage, just open the cooler door for me hm?" He offered, taking it all by himself. Nat may have looked scrawny but he had built up a good build over the years. Maybe not as buff as Richard, but her was toned very well and could lift his own body weight plus some in certain situations, so this was fine with him. "Now that this crisis has been averted, I'd very much appreciate if you;d go back to bed so I can get back to work." He held up a list he had found of various tasks that needed to be done for the day. "I already straightened up the work area and even did a little bit of weeding while I was finishing up cutting the flowers you need. I might as well finish up things around here."

"Nat!" Teagan made an exasperated motion to cover her eyes and uncover them as she spun in place out of sheer frustration. "I can't have you doing things around here when you're not working for me! I-I've got so much to do, and I can't sleep!" Even if she looked like she was ready to keel over, Teagan was holding firm to her motto that if she could do it herself, she would.

Nat sighed, rubbing his eyes out of his own frustrated. "Ok...how's about this...As of today, I'm working for you. You can pay me once all my work is done and we'll figure out how then ok? So its official. Now I want you to march your arse up those stairs and get back into bed or I will force you." This threat was given with a bit of a gleam in his eye.

Teagan took his shoulders in her hands and shook him once. "I don't know how to pay you! I'm just getting by as it is. I bake a little for the shop in town, I do flowers for people when they need it, and I'm stupid and said I'd do Lorey and Richard's wedding flowers for free when I need that money like there's no tomorrow!"
Hr hands let go of him to wrap around her own frame as she took in how much lost tie she'd have while sick. Usually she could just work through it all, but this was a bad fever that she might not get over in one night.

Nat smirked, an idea forming. "I didn't mean cash..." He chuckled a bit, rubbing his neck. "How's about in return for me doing all this work for you...you go out on a date with me?"he raised his eyebrows in expectance of her to blow up but extended his hand nonetheless as if wanting to confirm their business deal.

Whether it was the fever or her strong desire to just get back to bed, Teagan took his hand and gave it a violent shake. "Alright, alright. A date. A... date." Common sense was lying somewhere underneath her sickness, which made her head spin at the right time to make her seem completely out of it. Teagan was perfectly aware of her state, and even laughed at it.
"I... I should go back to my room," she said with a slight sway. "...after I just get this order logged." And with that, she turned away and began a swift shuffle towards her log book that she knew she practically agreed she wouldn't touch.

Nat sighed, exasperated as he came towards her. In one swift movement, he swooped her up and swung her gently over his shoulder. "No you're not. I'll take care of it, you're just going to get some rest!" He tried to explain again as he trudged upstairs to put her to bed himself.

"NAT!" Teagan swung her feet and beat his back twice before falling limp over his shoulder. It was no use fighting, but talking! Now that she could do.
"Nat, you don't know how to log my orders, there's a system. A system, and if you don't let me show you, then everything might get messed up and you'll have to show me anyhow what you did so then you'd have to let me down there in the shop anyhow!" Once inside her room, she gave one last huff and struggle. Clearly he was not one to negotiate unless it was for a date.

"Look, I'll figure it out. You just shut that adorable but big mouth of yours and get some sleep!" he raised his voice only to get her to hear over her own before flashing one more smile and heading to shut the door. "Oh, and if I find you snooping around to make sure I'm doing ok, then I wont hesitate to take drastic measures ok?" He smiled once more, shutting the door quickly.
