 "Don't pout, I'll play with you after I eat, I promise. I'm just hungry." He tilted his head to lean over and nuzzle her slowly before leaning down to take another bite of the cheese, chewing quickly before switching to the bread.
It was good and after a few more bites, he decided he had eaten enough and stepped to the side to let her eat the rest, watching her absently. "I think you and I were destined to meet." He lowered himself down onto the ground carefully before continuing to talk. "Like.. I think what happened in the woods, I think it was fate. We make a good match and I don't think either of us would have realized that if we didn't get a little push and I think what happened in the woods was the push we needed."
He gave a slight nod of his head, waving his tail back and forth lazily.

 As she nibbled at another piece of cheese, Dolci decided that... yes... she liked the way that sounded. That fate had intervened somehow and brought them together was a very romantic notion -- one that she agreed with and made her immensely happy all in one.
Maybe it really had been destined for them to meet? For Yuuki to save her and for Dolci to fall for him? It wasn't so far-fetched, sillier things had happened in the fairy tales she heard older ponies reading to the younger ones. And Cinderella was always happy in the end, wasn't she, when her Prince finally found her? There weren't any pumpkins or wicked step-mothers (though Peophynnia might be a little evil at the moment in the horrible mess of her kitchen), and their story had been more real than any fantasy, so was it so hard to believe that a force outside their control had brought them together?
No, not really!
Dolci nodded once as she finished off the last little bit of cheese, swallowing it down after chewing to reply.
"I think that could be true," she answered. "I mean, we get along so great, right? And even the friends I've known for a while...." Pausing just a moment to duck her head, hiding the bright blush rising in her cheeks. "...I don't feel as close to them the way I do to you."

"I've been around a little longer then you have, but I've never felt this way about any of the other ponies. " Yuuki cocked his head to the side, smiling before scooting over to make room for her to come sit down next to him.
He would play the games with her eventually, but right now he just wanted to talk with her for a little bit. "I think you were meant for me and vice versa." He looked up at her, nodding slowly a few times, squinting a bit when the sun hit his eyes.

Dolci was practically giddy, all disappointment over a lost game of tag totally forgotten about. She grinned down at Yuuki and bounced on her hooves quickly to fling herself onto the grass next to him.
"Really? You really think that?!" Her voice was just barely above unintelligible squeaking and her smile dripped into her speech to make her words so happy that Yuuki could probably reach out and touch it.
"I mean, of course. Of course I feel that way too." And she nodded her head with such vigor that it was a wonder her head didn't simply bobble off her neck. "I'm very glad we met--.. that fate brought us together."
Just to prove the point, she wriggled her way in up against his side. Then tucked her head down and leaned it underneath his muzzle, nuzzling her mane against the underside of his chin. "Very glad, Yuuki."

Resting his head against hers gently for a moment, he smiled before mumbling quietly. "I guess I'll have to take the full blame for the commotion in the kitchen so Peophynnia doesn't take you away from me."
He closed his eyes slowly, shifting his weight to lean against her side, perfectly content to stay here for the rest of the morning, drying off in the sun. "I'll just tell her I was trying to bake you a cake to declare my love for you." He nodded once, folding his front legs underneath himself carefully.

"Wouldyoureallytellherthat?!?!"
Oh, c'mon Yuuki! Do you really want to make Dolci's heart, head, and entire body explode with glee? Do you!?
"You could tell her that, I guess," she replied at a more normal speed. "But she's just a softie on the inside." Punctuated with a nudge to his side. Yuuki was a softie too encased in a grumpy outer shell! "She won't do anything but huff and then feed us pie!"
Closing her eyes slowly, Dolci pressed up closer. Uncaring that the warmth of the sun was more than sufficient to leave the chill off as her pelt dried off, she leaned into Yuuki's body heat and sighed in ultimate contentedness.
"So um..." Hm. How to word this? "Are we.. you know." Scrunching up her face at stumbling over her own words, she nudged at the ground with the tip of a hoof. "..Together? ...YouknowwhatImean?"

"Hmm..together?" Yuuki tilted his head to the side as if he were in though, taking a deep breath in through his nose before mumbling quietly.
"If you'll have me, then yes, we are together." He liked the sound of that very much, his heart was racing in his chest.
He gave a slight nod of his head before resting it against hers again gently, nudging her back before laughing quietly. "Pie sounds good, she can feed me whatever she wants really. I'll eat it without complaint."

Dolci, right in that moment, was so happy... so content... so relieved.. so everything, that she very well could have exploded with glee without Yuuki having to say anything else. The entire world could have shifted and turned black around them and she wouldn't have even noticed. Peophynnia could have found them and stood over them, lecturing on why cleaning up after yourself in someone else's kitchen is important and mannerly and Dolci would have easily tuned her right out.
Nothing else existed other than herself and Yuuki and after he agreed that they could be together, Dolci could have cried she was so thrilled!
"Yes, I'd like that. That's what I want," she managed to get out, followed by a quick series of nods. It was definitely what she wanted, she could think of nothing else in the world that could make her this happy!
Pulling her head back from underneath his chin, she beamed at him brightly. Her smile was wide and (hopefully) infectious and was completely genuine -- she wasn't smiling because she wanted to, but because she could do nothing else but smile.
Well. Nothing else but smile... and.... press a nuzzled kiss to the side of Yuuki's muzzle.

Yuuki went wide eyed for a moment before tilting his head slightly to lean into the kiss, a slight brush showing up across his cheeks. He wasn't expecting that at all, it was his first kiss and the thought of that made him smile wide for a moment.
His tail swished lazily from side to side and he watched her intently before leaning in to return the gesture, planting a kiss against the side of her muzzle gently before ducking his head down to nuzzle her slowly.
"Still want to play tag?" He mumbled quietly, shifting his weight to lean against her further.

When she noticed the faintest hint of blush in Yuuki's face, she blushed herself. Warmth rose in her cheeks and she closed her eyes -- only to have her pelt feel like it blazed even hotter when she blushed deeper at his kiss in return.
That felt nice.. Nice and very right, she couldn't imagine a little touch like that feeling any nicer from any other pony.
After she nuzzled him in return, and took a moment to breath in slowly (Yuuki smelled faintly like fresh water after it rained and bread dough, oddly enough), she murmured a reply.
"If you would like to." Smiling slightly, she bumped her shoulder into his. "You're still it."

Yuuki took a deep breath before leaning away from her to push himself up onto all fours carefully before he ducked his head down to nuzzle the tip of his nose against the side of her muzzle, mumbling.
"Now you're it." He smiled wide and before she could say anything back, he took off galloping across the field, kicking a few blades of grass here and there as he went, letting the breeze blow against his face, inhaling deeply to take in the fresh air. Yuuki was happy, very happy and it was all thanks to Dolci and he would do everything in his power to make sure that she felt the same way.
As long as he was around, nothing would hurt her again, he would see to that. There would be no more protecting the pasture at night, nothing ever happened anyway really.. From now on, Yuuki would protect Dolci, protect her and love her the way she ought to be loved and protected. Yuuki nodded to himself, getting lost in thought, so lost in thought that he didn't see the tree in front of him, but luckily before he went barreling into, he moved to the side, missing it completely.

Blinking slightly, it took a moment for Dolci to realize what happened. That the nuzzle she received wasn't exactly just a nuzzle and that Yuuki had ulterior motives.
To make her it this time!
Squealing in laughter, Dolci scrambled her way back up to stand. She watched him dart away and wiggled her backside, ready to take off like a shot after him.
Until, she saw the line of trees right in his path and she went wide eyed as he headed straight for them.
"YUUKI!!!! LOOK OUT, THE TREES--.."
But apparently he saw them too and skirted around them at the last moment. Way to make her heart race! So with that, she narrowed her eyes and went running after him, calling out as she went.
"You can't run faster than me!"

"I may not be able to run faster, but I can swim faster!" Yuuki laughed and with that, turned abruptly and headed right into the water again, trotting across the rocks at the bottom of the lake until it became deep enough for him to lift his legs and begin paddling out into the deeper waters.
He was just about dry, too before he dived in. Oh well, the sun was hot enough that it wouldn't take very long to dry again once they got out, so he circled around in the water to watch her absently, there was no way she'd catch him and he'd have to watch out for her and her dunking.
"Maybe after a little while longer, I'll let you catch me." He taunted, holding his head high up above the water.

Ah. Yes, unfortunately... this time, Yuuki was right. Dolci was smaller, more agile, and had youthful energy on her side. She could indeed run faster, and run for longer periods of time probably, than he could.
But swimming? There was no way she could beat him in a paddling race. For being a hefty, strong horse, Yuuki swam like he had flippers instead of hooves!
It didn't stop her from trying to catch him, however. She turned sharply and bounded off towards the water after he made his splash into it. Watching has he moved so deftly through the ripples, and realizing that she was stomping through the water instead, she giggled loudly and replied.
"You'll let me catch you?!" Hm... How to win this time?
Treading water when she got into the deeper end of the lake, she kept moving towards him. But stopped when she got halfway and stayed in one spot, fixing him with a devious grin.
"If you come back over here, I'll give you another kiss!"

Yuuki's ears perked when he heard what she said and he was sure that it was probably just a trap but he was more than willing to take the chance and with that, he turned around and started paddling toward her.
"If you dunk me, you are going to get it." He eyed her cautiously for a moment before making his way over to tread water in front of her carefully, leaning in to nuzzle her gently. "I'm ready for my kiss now."
He smiled wide and watched her, readying himself to move out of the way if she tried to do anything funny.
