"Gotcha, Renny! Ha!" boasted Ed with quite the challenging grin. She shifted into a stance that would, indeed, allow her to dance her way out of danger if need be, though she kept her sword pointed at the enemy. "Morphs? Well now they get the pleasure of my sword's bite! And it's got one appetite!"

Now, what proved to be a problem was the arrow Ed was staring down.

"Oh, well, shiIITE!"

She stumbled out of the arrow's path as it flew, then took that momentum, swung it around, and pushed herself forward. In a vicious assault she was suddenly matching swords with another morph. They were strong, oh yes, but Ed trained daily. Swinging and slashing she listened to the steel sing and scream, making poetry with her movements as other morphs closed in. As a morph approached from one side, she forced her sword with the enemy's into the approaching morph's gut, then twisted and kicked her rival right down the groin.

Ed leapt back and laughed openly as her rival tumbled. The second morph darted forward. She crossed her blade with the approaching foe's weapon, resuming her technique.

"Haaaahh!"

Aidan, having used a vulnerary on his wound himself, was now engaged in battle with a morph soldier. He thrust his lance, but missed; he narrowly avoided becoming an Aidan-kebab by diving to his left.

"Come on, why're you aiming for ME?" he whined, "Go for the other guys, they need the EXP more than I do!! Dumb RNG..."

Still on the ground, he slid his lance under the morph's feet and knocked him onto his rear. The tactician stood.

"Gotcha!"

With a nasty shunk, the morph was dead, and Aidan was moving on to the next target.

Amelia relaxed when the arrow barrage ceased. Renault was in less danger now, and she would not be putting herself into harm's way if she came back out to fight. Time to protect him; if he had practically created himself a new body just to live on for her, Amelia had to repay the favor.

The General went into action immediately, shouting to Rhys to be careful. A leap back, and then a stab with her Killer Lance sent a Warrior morph's blood spilling to the grass, and when she yanked back the weapon, he fell into the dirt, unmoving. She moved out of the way of a morph Sniper's arrow and instead moved at the Halberdier coming at her. They parried for a minute or so, lances crashing, until finally the Halberdier's neck was slashed open and he bled into the grass.

Her eyes turned to Domanova. The Sage with the heroes, he was protecting Mika with his spells... he would have to fall if they were to reach Mika. But to reach him, she would have to get through other Heroes... Rhys was close now, using his Nosferatu tome to regain power from each fallen opponent. "Who are we supposed to hit? Castello flies, and Mika's being protected by that Sage," Amelia shouted to Rhys over the din of battle.

Just as Leon had been cleaving his path through the morphs, joyfully watching them fall to his mighty poleaxe, he was about to hand Mika, the Archdruid a face full of metal when the tendrils of Espinne blocked her! How annoying. Yet another under-handed magic user. Completely overrrated the lot of them..

He turned around, facing Domanova now. "Get ridda th' sheild an' th' armor be easy t' pierce." he said to himself with confidence, before making a charge, slicing and dicing morphs along the way towards the Sage now.

He wondered for just a moment where his comrades were... he'd lost track of all of them except Amelia. At least if she was in his sight, Leon would be able to rush to her aid if necessary. He'd find the others... surely.

Raven Castello

"You can't ever fly..."

Castello roared in pain as Victoria's spell flashed in front of his eyes, but it didn't make him any less dangerous. Just less focused. He dropped to ground level and began to simply rage, ramming anyone in his way to the ground before he shook his head sharply, settling on the ground for a moment and blinking.

His vision cleared, and he screamed, spreading his wings and flying straight at Fa!

Hatmon’s footfalls were light against the soft grass, but powerful. Her sharp claws occasionally tore into the grass, due to their sharpness. There was no time to worry about leaving a trail, the others had left one already as it was. The fox would occasionally spot a foot print or a torn shrub to indicate she was traveling the right path. If that wasn’t enough, the trail still reeked of their stench, as it had not been too long since the group had passed through the area. It was easy to tell when she arrived at the sight of the battle; the sounds of conflict stinging her ears like daggers. She hissed as she dodged behind a tree to assess the best course of action.

While she watched for an opening to strike one of the Heroes a morph materialized out of thin air in front of her. Her head swiveled to look at the creation as it began to lower its large axe in a striking motion. It meant to clever her small body in half, but Hatmon had other plans. Her back paws quickly turned and pressed against the tree before she launched herself toward the abomination. With a single strike of her sharp golden claws, she tore the morph’s body in half; separating its upper half from the lower. She easily passed through the newly created gap and landed on the ground behind it as the morph crumbled to the ground.

The disgusting creature’s blood had stained her black fur though, showing that she was indeed a creature of battle. She licked her claw before making a face and shaking her head. “Tastes horrible, I’m going to need a bath after this.” There wasn’t much down time before another morph had made her its mark and she retaliated by jumping up and slashing the creature’s face. Her claws left their mark as they tore into the morph’s face, leaving a bloody oozing mess. One of its eyes had been split in two causing it to explode almost as the liquid from it mixed together with blood. Hatmon snarled as her nails passed clean through cheek bone and eventually traveled through part of the morph’s neck rupturing the Carotid Artery before they had finally finished the single slash.

She proudly watched as a the second morph met its end, and finding this to be quite enjoyable, decided she would help with morph duty while others focused on the Heroes. It was as she destroyed this morph that she noticed Chickenwire and Blossom were doing the same job. As she scurried over to them she pounced on a third morph, sending her claws through his chest and destroying both heart and lungs before she parted from the creature. “I’m here to help,” she hissed as she rubbed some of the blood from her claws and fur onto the grass. Having such a sadistic way of fighting couldn’t be good for her fur.

They'd seen it with their own eyes. Eight heroes, following one little girl, swearing vengeance on the people of Eyris for Madrianna. No, Madrianna was BAD. They remembered that much.

Eyes that once held doubt and distrust now hardened in hatred. What fools they'd been! They'd been duped! Whatever these heroes were up to, working to avenge Madrianna? No self-respecting hero would do THAT! Captain Ghis had been right all along... these rumors were no good!

As the arrow shower ended, they came out of hiding--under rocks, behind trees (some picked the wrong trees to hide behind and ended up skewered), or in Charice's case, well off to the side--and charged, the wrath of the Watch evident as they made their way to meet the morphs head-on. CLASH! A Halberdier's lance met Ghis' armor, sliding off as the General himself brought his Silver Axe crashing down. SLICE! And a Watch cavalier fell by an enemy Swordmaster's wicked blade! SH-SHUNK! Javert and Charice, despite being ground and air units, converged on a Druid, impaling it with their lances at the exact same time. Rushing two-on-one made for a good strategy.

... No. He wouldn't use his tome yet. Not against these pathetic creatures. They weren't worth it, not nearly enough to waste the uses of his precious tome. Instead, he stowed it once again inside his robes, resorting instead to the same style of fighting he had earlier that day. He dodged the blade of the first, grasping its arm and pulling its body over his own head. One hand to its chest drew the quintessence from it, using it to heal the wound he had just taken from the arrow. This was good. This would work. The quintessence was delicious.

In fact, he could feel it in the air. Every morph that died released the energy that kept it alive into its surroundings... but then it was whisked away. Odd, in a way, but it was easily explainable; the energy was being conserved. It was being collected, in one spot, for one being to use, and Renault had little doubt who that being was. The dark god, Loki. He couldn't track the flow of quintessence all the way; but that dark god was somewhere nearby. It would be soon... the Saint himself would find Loki and kill him. There was no doubt.

Soren glanced at his designated little sister emotionlessly yet critically. He felt vitality flow through his veins as Fa called upon the dragonstone's power, and as it surged through its draconic nature spoke directly into his mind, his blood, his capabilities.

Something about his eyes changed, something about his entire being changed.

"Don't push yourself, Fa."

Then Soren stood, renewed by the dragonstone, and turned to face the battle. Emerald blades of blade swirled about, warping the light and throwing translucent shadows across the ground. For a moment they warped so that he seemed to possess the countenance of a dragon, brimming with ancient power.

He turned his eyes up and threw his hand out. Orbs channeled along his arm, spiraling, and poured forth into a small company of the spirits. The Wind spirits immediately dispersed, engaging with the morphs, while Soren himself picked up the Elwind and Rexcalibur tome. A cannonball of Elwind slammed right into Castello's skull.

"Ok sowen. Fa promises not to push myself." Fa promised as she saw the raven flying towards her and she stood behind soren as soren blasted Castello out of the sky.

Sue didn't want to watch anymore to see if her arrow hit Shento, but instead she sent another shot of the sacred Bow of Winds in Castello's direction, this time to hamper his wings. He was grounded, making him a much easier target, and she wouldn't just let the raven hurt Fa! "You... will fall!" she declared as she released it with a raging fury behind her eyes.

Leon finally understood why it was he felt this rage, and this pure joy of slicing his enemies to tiny little pieces. Watching Ghis and his squad in action made him realize the same things as his fellow Watch members, they were deeceived, and all of them, all of them hated it. "This be happenin' when ya get payback!" he shouted, before holding his poleaxe in the air, Anri rearing, and then he crashed down upon three morphs: two swordmasters and one bishop with a forceful slice that left the three of them split in half from the waist.

The watchman continued fighting on... it was much easier to know that none of his opponents... none of them deserved the reverence of Eyris's citizens.

Isadora slashed the morphs with her sword while whacked the other with her shield. These morphs were going to waste their time. If the members were focusing on the morphs, they would have less energy to fight against the Heroes.

The paladin gave one last whack in the face of the morph before changing her weapon to hand axe. She admitted that she didn't have much experience with the hand axe, but she had to battle. Isadora then charged Tuomas, running in full speed. The morphs would either duck or be crashed by the charging of the paladin.

Spotted the Heroes in sight, Isadora had decided to fight against the man with the afro. The paladin stopped her horse as she unleashed her hand axe. The hand axe flew across the battlefield as it spun straight toward them.

"NO IDEA," Rhys roared as a Swordmaster got close enough. No time for spells; here was seperated magic boys from magic men! The Swordmaster swung down, and Rhys moved to his right, dropping the book so he could lace his arms around his opponent's sword hand. The pair struggled, moving around in a wild circle as the morph struggled to get his sword free, but too late! A Watch soldier ran up. Rhys saw him and turned around, showing the morph's back to the Soldier. The blow was nicely done, right up the back, but not so strong a blow as to pierce into Rhys' back as well.

"Thanks," Rhys said as the Soldier ran ahead, picking up the tome. "Now then, KYROS IS LOOKING FOR YOU, RIGHT? LET'S GO WITH HIM," he shouted to Amelia, getting close to her as they slowly moved forward to the Dread Reaver.

Now that more morphs were showing up John had arrowed more of em in the face. Seeing the Raven fly at full speed towards the little girl John shot an arrow towards the back of the raven with full strength to see it already blasted by an Elwind.

Amelia barely avoided an Elfire spell homing in for her as she heard the distinct sound nearby of metal slicing through flesh. She turned her eyes to see Rhys holding up a morph's body to a Watchman's blade. Impressive. "Kyros... yeah, he is," she called back. Amelia gripped her lance tightly in both hands as they made their way across the battlefield. Kyros, if anything, was one of their most dangerous opponents... if he fell, they would have a better chance.
