Esta's mother and father both died in battle. Needless to say, this isn't as tragic — and certainly not as unexpected — as it would be in other prides. Still, a loss and loss, and she mourned for her parents in her own way.
She eventually gave birth to a meek, sickly cub that was cast of the pride due to these shortcomings. Esta doesn't entirely begrudge them for this tradition. Instead, she has become all the more dedicated to winning the constant struggle for resources once and for all, so that all cubs have an opportunity to thrive.
Esta plans to have no further offspring and it's been something of a "common knowledge" she'll die in combat as her parents did.

Kya was abandoned as cub in the Roguelands. To this day, she isn't sure why. Regardless, she was brought to the Bloodletters and raised there. Due to her lack of filter, know-it-all attitude, and other, um, unappealing quirks, Kya struggled to maintain genuine friendships. However, she was generally respected for her intelligence and awe-worthy memory. This and her vocal support of the new Bloodletter earned her a promotion to his personal guard.

Kya is a beautiful lioness, though lacking distinct markings -- or any at all, for that matter. She eats well and keeps up with grooming, so her black coat maintains a nice gloss. Her small frame is outsized by most other lionesses.

Kalenorava was born to a group of peaceful nomads comprised entirely of leopards. From a young age she exerted minimal effort to relate to her peers. Her attempts, few and far between, resulted in failure. She was too eerie for the upbeat and for the most part too solitary to find a place amongst the misfits.
The sighting of a Goddess spurred an interest in the supernatural. As an awkward adolescence, she sought out stories of magic, ghosts, and superstitions. These inquiries eventually led her to the Bloodletters cult, where she gained membership and climbed the ranks to become Lead Infiltrator. Her promotion was not without drawbacks: Lena made several enemies along the way.
