"Amelia, you escaped too!" Sue was now overjoyed to see her fellow host, and she wandered over to the last of the deer meat that had yet to be sliced...

She'd let her sleeping comrades lie until 'breakfast' was ready. Using her killing edge to slice again, the nomad begun to tell Amelia the tales...

Of the great morph battle, their attempt to escape into the castle, the rioting citizens whom were believed to be defending their heroes, their exile, and another great battle that followed to rescue Isadora and her group of escapees. The nomad added her own few words of her, Leon, and Blossom's struggle to rescue Lance, whom was now in one of the many makeshift tents the campsite had erected.

The story sounded like something Ganon would tell accompanied by music.

The paladin did not know she had fell asleep while Tuomas was galloping with Pitch following him. All she knew was that she needed rest. She was so tired from the battle and trying to stay awake. In fact, she didn't know someone came to stop the trouncing of the horses.

Although Tuomas followed no one but his owner, the horse halted when Sue grabbed the rein. He would disobey the person who grabbed it. However, he had no worry about it since his owner was on his back. If the person did anything harm, he would run away and wait for his owner to wake up.

As Isadora slumbered, she felt someone was stirring her. Someone asked her to wake up. Isadora moaned softly for a little bit before opening her eyes. She was too tired to wake up. The paladin could still feel the heavy sleep over her eyes.

"What? Sue?" Isadora questioned as she rubbed her eyes. "Where did you come from?"

As she looked around, she noticed she was in the middle of the forest along with the camp. There were few FEFers there. The paladin was confused.

"Sue, what are we doing here? Why aren't we in Eyris where our castle at?"

[Remember, the escapees did not know what had happened in Eyris.]

Amelia nodded and smiled faintly. She didn't know how many Heroes were left in the manor; Teifi was unconscious when she left, Kyros had brought her breakfast, and she had vaguely heard Castello shout up the stairs, but who knew about any of the others? One of them had to have summoned that dracolich...

"I... It was escape, or risk Rhys and Dad's lives... Teifi threatened to kill both of them to make her my sole family." Amelia shook her head, sitting down next to Sue as she removed one of her swords from her side. "I managed to knock her out and run, but... they're still at the manor. And I'm not letting her get at Rhys or Dad. She'd have to drag me to hell to let that happen."

Amelia listened in silence to Sue's story. Slowly, her arms tightened around Rhys' torso until he was in a protective hug against her chest instead of merely leaning there. The people thought they were the villains? "So despite stopping the morphs at Halloween, despite us handling the monster problem and stopping the source of it at winter, and then eliminating that darkness plague at Easter, they think we are the wrong ones?" Amelia demanded. How dare they...! "After everything we've tried to do to help, they've abandoned us. What fools..."

She turned her eyes briefly over to Ganon, where Blossom was still trying to comfort him, and then back to Sue. "Is that all that I missed...? Thank you..." she looked to the deer. "Um... can... I have some, maybe...? I never ate my breakfast at the manor..."

There had been so much commotion, that he hadn't known what to do with himself...The tactician had done everything in his power to get away from it all and to the safety of where he believed his companions had also fled.

"Damn..." Somebody had nicked his stomach with a poison-tipped sword, or something. The wound, though small, still stung, a harsh burn radiating from the little cut. He'd run out of Antidotes and forgotten to buy more--yeah, that was, er, mostly his own fault, but regardless, he needed some help at the moment.

"Hello?" he called as soon as he was sure there was human activity nearby. "Anyone home?"

Pitch trotted to a halt, sputtering and tired. The rouncey was still rather unexperienced, and as he had just fled from his first battle, Pitch was undoubtedly exhausted. There was no room for panic or fear. Now the horse simply wanted to find a place to lie down. He didn't know how to do that with an unconscious figure on his back, however.

Soren was out cold and breathing harshly. He wasn't about to wake up for a good, long while; using one's own body to channel Rexcalibur had some serious repercussions.

Blossom looked up from Ganon's shoulder as she heard a familiar voice from somewhere behind her. "Hello? Anyone home?" Blossom turned around and found a scruffy-haired boy in a green cloak approaching the campsite. Her grey-blue eyes widened, and in an instant, she was running right for him.

"Aidan!" she half-shrieked, pulling him into a tight hug. "Oh thank goodness, you're all right...!" she shouted against his shirt. She held on for a few moments, as if to make sure he was solid, then pulled away from him. Her eyes went to the cut on his stomach, and she frowned. "You're hurt... c'mon. If Victoria's up to it, she can heal you." With that, she took Aidan's hand in both of hers and moved towards the Bishop.

The spell that had come from Ninian's music had seemed to take Leon away into another place, at least within his now more pleasant dreams. Instead of the snow fields, the loneliness, the darkness of night... the fear... the agony, there was peace. Peace, tranquility... even a hint of...

Familiarity?

Yes, that was the word. Although he hadn't brushed nearly up on his words as he should be, in the company of those who valued weapons over book smarts, Leon still remembered what that particular bit of syllables meant. It was something he knew, and something he was comfortable with. There was a reason for this.

For in his dream, and only his dream... he was home. At the Watch House, just outside, that dirt pathway that lead to the doors that were so close yet so far away from him now.

There were silhouettes, a small group of them... and at first they seemed obscure. As he and Anri drew ever closer though, as the dirt path shrank behind them, he could see their faces, and he knew them all. His comrades, his dearest friends... his family.

"...guys?" Was all he could say, staring upon them in awe. How did he get to Eyris? He couldn't remember, and had forgotten that was was just a dream he was having.

"I haven't see you around lately. And I'm supposed to be the one disappearing!" Large exclaimed scornfully. The assassin, if he revealed his mask would surely be scowling.

"Our new Captain's calling us into action..." Needles, although a member of the Guard was still a close contact of Dan's squad. She only smirked. "You're a bit late if you wanna join, too bad..."

Clang seemed bored. "An' ya left us right when them riots were comin'. Ya scared of a lil' action there, Leon?"

Chickenwire, although thinking for a while finally did come up with something to say. "I know yain't gone for good, o'course... I know better than them rumors 'bout ya."

Even his one and only hero... Captain Dan seemed to be staring at the Lieutenant in disapproval. "Ach, boy, yeh can' take s'long onna shaman! Yeh get finished right up!"

Magnet, although acting tough by saying it in a strong tone was truly worried. "You're... getting hurt, aren't you? How many times did I tell you to stay out of danger, Leon?!"

Leena all the while just stared into his eyes, her gaze filled with a feeling of longing. "... Leon. You're coming back to us, aren't you? You haven't abandoned us..."

"I... I'd never..." Leon replied... it seemed to all of them at once rather solemnly. "I'd never leave 'ny of ya! Yer th' most important things t'me! I be comin' back soon as I can... but right now I be protectin' FEF. I gotta help 'em... they done so much for us. I might be in a bit o' trouble, but when ain't I anyhow? I can tell ya this though... I'll be returnin', I ain't a deserter, and I ain't a traitor. Eyris be m'home... no where else!"

Those words seemed to almost be as serious as when he took his first oath to be a member of Eyris's finest. Leon had his heart in them, because he meant every one. With that oath his eyes closed... and they re-opened in the campsite. Seeing the exiles, he no longer despaired... for they too had their own oaths to keep. And he noticed something... all whom were in the battle before had returned.

Hope was still there, and always would be...

"Ev'ryone, listen!!!" He addressed the exiles, again mounting Anri and pumping his fist into the air with joy. "Look at what we 'ave 'ere! We've all lived through the battle with the villains that'd forced us into exile! Although we'd not yet taken back Eyris, us havin' losin' no 'un meas the Goddess an' the Hero Anri be watchin' over us! We must be keepin' our hopes high, where they belong! We must believe! For... if we be believe... we will triumph o'er every'thin'! If we believe... we be havin' strength in times o' need! If we believe, we'll be returnin' to the 'uns we miss so terr'bly! An' if we be believe, in whate'er it is we believe in... if we be hangin' onto the hope in front o' us... even if the earth be torn asunder... we'll continue on, and we'll be takin' back what be ours, our dearest and beloved home!!!"

"Yes... we shall return home..." Sue looked upon the knight in the center of the exiled FEFers, in pure amazement. He could sure be a leader, just as well as she was when it called for it. She proudly announced.... "the food is ready! Let's feast for our day of triumph, FEF! Breakfast is served!"

Victoria headed to the center as well, again drawing upon the power of fortify. Even those whom were sleeping could feel the large area-wave healing spell withing the staff soothing their deep wounds into minor cuts. Victoria herself felt inspired, motivated to continue her holy duties given to her by the Lady Saint, that to heal those in need and purge the heathens. For now... half her holy duty was done. "That should cover everyone." She nodded. "Now... for some of that meat." The bishop rushed over, taking slices that the Nomad Trooper was handing out to everyone. Tasting the meat felt like tasting paradise itself... for it was the first big meal she'd had in days.

"Blossom!!"

He gratefully returned the hug, squeezing just as tightly. "You don't know how glad I am to see you..." He chuckled a little, wincing slightly at the pain. "Yes. I'd like that a lot."

"...Oh, and I wanna eat after." The tactician gestured to Leon. "Inspirational speeches make me hungry!"

Isadora couldn't believe her ears. Exiled? From Eyris? No, it couldn't be.... But it did. Why else would they be here instead of their beloved castle?

As much as it seemed to be a downer to the paladin, Isadora knew that what Leon said was correct. They would never give up. They would take back of what was rightfully peace before. She did not know how Mika was able to turn Eyris against them. But the paladin refused to give up without a fight. They would claim back their home.

However..... Right now.... Isadora needed to gather her strength and energy. It would be foolish of her to go into battle unprepared.

"I'll have some food." Isadora spoke up. It would be also foolish to run on a empty stomach. That was a lesson she learned from her fellow knight in Pharae, Lowen.

Blossom squeezed Aidan back, turning her eyes away whenever Aidan referred to Leon. "Yeah... food. But Victoria... she used a Fortify, so shouldn't your stomach be okay now? Or was it just not a normal cut?" Blossom looked down at his stomach again nervously. She rested her fingertips near the slash in his shirt, then pulled her hand back to her side. "C'mon. Let's ask Victoria if she can Restore you, that should fix it all, okay?"

"And we can see if Lance is doing better, too," Blossom added before guiding Aidan to the pit where Sue had the deer cut and ready.

Octavio was sitting on a large rock. He was very tired... As everyone was. He had already finished healing his own wounds and those of some others. He glanced up occasionally, watching those who were talking... Very hungry, he got off of the rock. He spotted Sue and walked over to her.

"Excuse me... Sue, was it?" He asked. He eyed her food ravenously. "Where did... you get that? Could I possible have a bit?"

He watched her for an answer. Suddenly he felt something... And it wasn't his own hunger. He whipped around and faced the mountains. "Oh no." He said quietly. "Loki."

He knew. He knew Loki was there. Far away, but his power was strong enough for Octavio to sense him from even there. Loki... That was how they'd have to end this...

He turned back to everybody... No longer concerned with his own hunger, he stepped back up on to the rock that he was sitting on before.

"May I have... your attention please?" He called.

Before Isadora could get something to eat, she heard Octavio spoke. She arched her eyebrow.

What could make this young man alert? There was no danger here. So what was it that made Octavio cautious?

Isadora spoke. "Yes?"

Amelia's eyes rose up from the deer and to Leon's face as he began to shout to everyone. It was a little hard to understand him in a spot or two--he had that nasty habit, like the other Watch members, of talking unintelligibly--but she got the gist well enough. Stick together. We can overcome anything. We'll take back our home and regain the people's faith.

She nodded once and smiled wide. "We can do it," she murmured, not quite up to shouting, like Sue or Leon. She gratefully leaned over, took some of the deer meat and ate in silence. Octavio's voice, though, drew her attention.

"Attention towards what?" she questioned after swallowing a large bite of meat. "Is something wrong, Octavio?"

Octavio shuffled his feet nervously. He nodded a little. "Yes... Something's wrong... Listen.. The one causing all of your problems... Isn't so far away. For those of you who haven't heard of him... His name is Loki. He's practically a God... But I don't think he's really immortal.... I was sent here to get rid of him. Supposedly I can take him... but I don't feel so powerful. Especially... Since that last battle..." He looked around at everybody. He realized he needed to raise the spirits a bit if anything was going to come of this.

"Everyone.. If we get rid of Loki, all of our problems will go away. I don't know how we can do it... But I think if we don't try... We won't be here very long... I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but he is the source of all the problems. Without him, everything else would go away..."
