Alexis's face brightened, she found the right person! "Thanks for helping me." she told Thali as they entered the class room, and then she dodged the airplane. When Thali threw the plane back, the teacher seemed to not notice the plane hit a student in the eye.

Alexis found a seat in the back, feeling lucky for finding her spot. She wasn't sure which topic to learn about, and didn't care, so she didn't write a subject on a piece of paper. She leaned in her seat, watching how the rest of the class acted.

Thali smiled as students filled the hat with their papers. "You guys done?" She asked. At the confirming nod, she took out three pieces of paper. "Pirates? Hm.." The elf looked interested. "Civil War?" She made a face at that one, her opinion of war was clear. "And the last one... It's blank." She said, blinking.

"Does that mean I get to pick?" She asked, and suddenly there was a look of mischeif on her face. "Well then. Let's learn about elves." She said with a grin. "Real elves."

Alexis straightened up. Thali chose her blank paper? Of all the luck . . . She wondered why Thali would bring up elves for a lesson. This is history, right? Not some creative writing class. Alexis began to doubt that her parents signed her up for the right school.

"Well, let's have a vote." Thali said with a shrug and a smile. "Those of you who want to learn about pirates.." She waited for the class to raise their hands. "Or elves." Pirates had the most popular vote. Thali sighed, but smiled. "Pirates it is then. What would you like to know?" She asked.

Extremely confused, and irritated, Alexis raised her hand high so the teacher could see it. "Yeah," she said. "Why pirates? Why elves?" She noticed the classmates began to turn around and stare at her. "What does all of this have to do with anything?"

Thali blinked, she was surprised at the question. "Because pirates are an important part of the world's history--and even current times." She shrugged. "As for elves.." She grinned, and moved her hair so the class could see her ears.

"Elves are an important part of my history, that I would like to share with you." She said.

Alexis had nothing to say. Starting a debate on the first day of school with a teacher was never a good idea. "Fair enough." she simply replied, leaning back in her seat again and tightening her lower lip.

Vate, who has been wandering around the school, couldn't help but to wonder why Thali gave him the job to teach. He thought his career as an assassin was perfectly normal, and really enjoyed the job.
"It'll be a great experience!" he remembered her telling him through a letter. "It'll help you break out of your shell. Come on, take the job. For me?"

The dark elf frowned, knowing that he was going to regret it.

Thali nodded, and smiled towards Alexis. "Not convinced?" She asked. "What would you like to learn about most?" She asked, with a polite tilt of her head. She looked genuinely interested.

Joshua was walking down the halls, he had a free period this hour, and was looking for something to do. Instead, he bumped into a tall, navy-skinned elf. The boy blushed, and mumbled an apology. "Mr. Zulpen, right?" He asked. "My mother told me about you."

With a shrug, Alexis spread the palms of her hands. "Whatever you have planned." she replied, a bit sarcastic, but she meant to be honest. She wasn't in the mood of arguing, Alexis decided to ride through it.

Vate stared down at the child, blinking. "Who is your mother?" he asked. How could a boy his age know about Vate?

Thali frowned slightly. "You don't have a favorite part of history you'd like to learn about?" She asked. "A favorite time? Knights? Florence? Um. The black plague?"

"She's the history teacher." Joshua provided helpfully. "The only teacher in the entire school that doesn't let students call her by her last name." He said proudly. "You used to be her boyfriend, didn't you?" He asked. "Why'd you leave her anyway? She's so awesome! I mean--a Princess, and she's smart--and why'd you leave her again?"

Alexis quickly grew irritated. "Again, I don't care." she snapped. "Just teach something!"

Vate fought the urge of drop kicking Joshua. "It's---complicated." he said, trying to find the right words. " 'Leaving her' seems a bit too simple." Deciding not to bring up his marriage with Thali, Vate asked, "Where is she right now?"

Thali sighed, and started to teach about the pirates who once sailed the seas stealing from English and Spanish sailors. She felt awkward teaching like this--she liked to get to know students, not just tell them the facts.

"Oh. Complicated." Joshua nodded as wisely as a boy his age could. "I'll show you--she's in class right now." The dark skinned boy lead Vate to the history class room. "There." He said, pointing.

Alexis turned her head, and so did many other students, towards the door when she heard someone knock on it.

"Thali, someone's at the door!" A student said, feeling there's a necessity to point out the obvious.

Thali moved from the front of the classroom, and walked over to the door. She opened it, and was surprised to see Josh. "You're supposed to be studying..." She started sternly. "You have a test later.."

Joshua merely pointed at Vate. Thali stared for a moment, before going back to the front of the class. "Class demissed!" She announced. "Have a good evening, four sentences on what you think pirates were really like for homework! Due tomorrow!" Clearly, she was in a hurry. She never gave homework.

Jessica wandered among the halls of the school, looking for someone to tell her where she was supposed to go. She forgot how exactly how she got into this teaching job, and she was scared out of her wits. Clutching her book on Shakespeare close to her, she came across a classroom that looked relatively empty except for who Jessica figured was the teacher. Taking a deep breath, she opened to the door and walked in.

Attempting to tighten her ponytail with one hand while simultaneously stumbling, Jessica thought that she must look pretty foolish... and like she didn't what she was doing. Which is partially true, she figured. Looking up from the floor, she noticed the teacher appeared to be a teenager like herself, perhaps even the same age. Sighing thankfully and feeling a bit less awkward, Jessica walked up to the busy-looking teacher. "Excuse me," she started, "But I'm a new teacher here, and I'm not sure where I'm supposed to go. My name is Jessica, by the way. Jessica Drunshild. The new Drama teacher?"
