"Of course." The tactician had doubts, if only for a moment, about Jin. Those were completely erased, though, with a bit of logic; he sounded convincing enough, and plus the other former Black Fang people that she knew and met were honest and good people. She had a feeling that he was the same way.
Alihi turned to Leon, who spoke in a rather... interesting way. She stared at him for a few moments, completely confused, before fully understanding what he said. She nodded firmly. "Yes. I want to protect FEF as well... This group has become precious to me." She scratched the back of her head nervously. Way to sound like a complete sap, Alihi.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed some movement. She turned, hand resting on the rapier. Her eyes widened with shock as she noticed the familiar hair and attire, darkened a bit by the shadows but still very much recognizable. After all, she and her daughter did hang out with this person recently at the festival, playing games and getting dragged around by an overly energized four-year-old. "... Ephraim? Is that you?"

Leon's attention shifted to the Renais royal. He looked more like a battered warrior than a former prince of a great country at the moment... again another beaten member of the group. At least their numbers were growing. He'd heard Shinon, but was more concerned for the injured warrior. "Ya need some rest, sir? Ya can rest easy with m'makeshift guard I be settin' up 'ere. Unless of course ya get yerself healed by the Druid that away.." he pointed to Canas. "He be good at what he does... I'd trust 'im. The Lady Bishop ain't well now... so let 'er rest."

Nobody seemed to have noticed him and as he got closer, Alihi called out to him which startled the man just a bit before he fully emerged out of the shadows and came into the light looking ragged and covered in dirt which Ephraim completly ignored about. "Y-Yea" he whispered, almost in a nervous way. "What the hell went on? The minute I leave you two, this happens." Ephraim shook his head and looked around before turning back to the tactician. "Just what WERE those things?" referring to the ones who made the attack.
His attention soon turned to the new face. "I'm all right" declining his offer. He wasn't bleeding to death at the very least, couple bruises here and there, nothing he hadn't experienced before but damn did he had to run like hell for the first time in his life. "I'm sure my injuries are nothing compared to the rest of you" eyeballing everyone else who was either, knocked out or about to be.

"Well, if ya think yer able then... ya can help me keep watch 'o these people here. They ain't in the mood nor condi'n to be fightin'. We might haveta if them morphs come lookin' for us. I don't wanna fail these people... sir. I be a Lieutenant of the Watch.." Leon told him solemnly, and then he reached out his hand to shake Ephraim's for his horse. "M'name's Leon, soldier. What be yers?"

The prince looked up, patting himself down from the dirt. "Hand me a spear and I'm all up for guarding" incase he didn't see, Ephraim didn't exactly have a spear on him...not currently anyways..the one he had broke. He reached up and shook the man's hand and nodded. "I'm Ephraim"
"Morphs hm?" his mind wandered for a minute, recalling to books he had read about these 'morphs'...if any..Ephraim wasn't exactly the one who loved to study...infact..he hated it. "What do you know about these 'morphs'..?" he questioned, wanting to know more about them at the very least..for if they encountered them once more.

"I know a lot 'bout 'em." Leon told Ephraim in an honest tone, looking to make sure that Jin and Alihi were too, listening... "I took some records of 'em durin' our conflict in Halloween, ya see. First, they look like people, but they ain't people. They got no emotions, some say 'tis be a lack 'o heart. They also look th'same. Gold'n eyes n' black hair... an' tireless. They only look human... like clone humans... but they ain't got weaknesses 'cept bein' struck in a places that'd kill a person...."
Leon explained all he recorded from his squad's dealings with them. They were in the background at the time when FEF sprang forth the resistance, but his Watch squad, the Guard at the time WERE helping. They were protecting everyone they could... and those were part of his findings while he did so. "There ain't much more I can say 'bout 'em. 'Cept that they gotta live offa quintessence, life force... or they turn to dust."

Alihi sighed in relief. "Thank goodness you're alright... Amara would have been so upset if you weren't." She laughed sheepishly for a moment but stopped when Ephraim asked her about the morphs. She shivered slightly at the mentioning of quintessence, remembering her almost-execution. If Rei, Mika, and Vaida hadn't appeared, then she wouldn't be standing around today. She would have died that day at Madriana's hand, right on stage, in front of the eyes of the FEFers.
She snapped back into reality after a few moments, though, and nodded. "... Leon just covered pretty much everything what I was going to say. To add on a bit, though, they're extremely loyal, too, following whatever command is given to them by their leader. Some can have some sort of... personality, but that isn't too common. There isn't much limitation on what kind of fighter they can be, either..." She rested her chin in the palm of her hand. Was there anything else that she was missing?

Silence filled the air. Ephraim eyed Alihi then Leon, then Alihi again while they were explaining what these 'morphs' were. Least now he knew what they were and judging from the tactician's reaction, not exactly something pretty. Some have personality? Emotion? Other then that they were simply dolls...or so he'd like to think.
One thing bothered him though. "You say they live off quintessence......" he started, turning his head back to look at the knight. "Right now..Whose are they living off?" that's what bothered him. Unless there was something he was missing here, if what Leon said was true then that meant someone was obviously powering these Morphs. Who was in question.
Ephraim turned over to Alihi and noticed a slight shiver before shutting himself up.

"I dunno 'ny names, but... a Lady Bishop called 'bout a Dark User whom was headed for th'mansion." Leon explained. "I dunno their face or anythin', but they be an Archdruid, the more powerful of the Dark Arts mages... yeah, their magic would pierce right through m'armor if they so wanted. 'Ny ways, the Morphs always needa druid... or they can't be gettin' their quintessence."

"Hm..." collecting every information given to him at the moment. It was alot to gather but in a situation like this, wasn't much for him at all. Druid? Dark mages...it was slowly sinking in but least he had a suitable knowledge on them. "Thanks" turning back to the knight before observing the others once more.

"But in 'ny case... " Leon said, while looking at his fellow fighters whom were agreeing to help him with keeping watch. He felt like he was now a leader... a Captain. Was this what it was like to lead and protect others? He always dreamed of doing this with a Watch Squad of his own one day... and if he performed well here, he could do this any time. This was preparation.... for the lives he'd have a responsibility for one day. "We gotta watch over 'veryone 'ere.

Alihi nodded slightly, trying not to remember the near-execution. After days of being locked up, being tired, hungry, and-- No, stop thinking about it-- beaten, she was brought out for the first bit of sunlight and fresh air. However, she was in-- That's enough. It's irrelevant now, in the past-- chains, placed up on stage for everyone to stare in shock and horror. To add salt to the wound, she was going to be used as a-- I am really not liking this flashback-- demonstration of Madriana's power, serving as a warning to the Resistance not to mess with her. She was moments away from having her-- Argh-- quintessence taken away, when help appeared out of nowhere and her life was spared.
The rest passed by like a blur.
She let out a small sigh. That whole scenario still haunted her to this day, hanging over her like a dark cloud. It reminded her of the price that she could pay for being so selfless, so self-sacrificial, so... how she was.
And yet... if she could go back to that day, she wouldn't have changed what happened. And if another situation like that occurred, she would let herself wind up in the same position again. That was just the way Alihi was.
Shaking her head slightly, she turned to Leon and Jin. Time to stop thinking about that and time to start figuring things out. "So, uhm, how do you want to do this?" She asked the two.
(( Oh geez, the first part of the post was so amusing for me to write. xD

Leon took at look at the other warriors whom had volunteered to watch over the rest. He imagined that the day he did get his own subordinates, they'd be just as ready and willing to follow him as anyone. Eying them, proud of these brave FEFers, he spoke like a true leader... sort of. "We'll be takin' our turns, makin' sure there ain't anythin' tryin' to ambush us. Then we'll be switchin' when ya feel the need to rest. 'Tis how we do it in th'Watchouse... always vigilant."

Blossom could feel lethargy pressing on her eyes, but she knew she shouldn't be this tired. She had been injured, yes. She had been poisoned, yes. But the others were worse off; she could surely take some watch duty. Blossom turned to Vika, gave a small bow of the head and wave to show that she hadn't forgotten her, then turned to look over at Leon in the near distance.
"H-Hey!" Blossom called. She rushed over to the man, her sword still on her back. It still smelled coppery. "I can... I can help with the watching, too, if you want!"

" I can take the first watch" Ephraim volunteered. He wasn't as famished as the others were and even while he was tired from running, could stay up for a good few hours or so as he had done before..well, while he was leading his army back in Magvel but even then, Kyle and Forde refused to let him keep watch cause of the 'formality' crap. He rolled his eyes at the thought. "Maybe two keep an eye? That way the other doesn't fall asleep" maybe, dunno, it'd sure keep each other company instead of having one awake and possibly falling asleep on you and getting everyone killed. Noooo wouldn't have any of that now.
