Karo lied down on the cave floor, a piece of grass protruding from his mouth. His hands were under his head and his eyes were closed. It was taking Enya and Fenrir quite some time to reach the cave. He opened his eyes and blew the blade of grass from his mouth, making it accidently fall down on his face again. He growled and blew it off. The others were talking further in the cave. Karo's eyes sealed shut again as he waited for their arrival.

As soon as Enya had changed back into her normal clothes, which made Fenrir feel more comfortable because not only was she protected by armor, but she had her weapons with her, and she didn't look quite so... After she changed he turned into his wolf form, and with an angry, silent Enya clinging to his fur and armor, he took off at top speed so that they could hurry and get things over with; it would probably be dangerous, Enya was completely vunerable when removing crystals.
The ground flew by beneath them, and before long the both of them reached the cave, Enya slipping off of Fenrir's back to enter first, while he remained in wolf form to appear more intimidating. Enya slipped her Tiger Claws on and moved into the gave, expecting face four giant wolves ready to fight to the death, but instead she saw, "Karoku?!"

Karoku let his eyes remain shut and simply smirked and lifted a hand to wave at them, not lifting his head to look. "You two took your sweet-a** time, no?" he chuckled a bit let his eyes remain shut. He stifled a yawn and used his ki to bring another blade of grass from outside to his mouth. A growl eminated from one of the tainted wolves next that was next to Karo, before the wolf could completely get up, a foot was shoved against it's skull, knocking it unconscious again. Karo was suddenly standing and glancing down at the wolf. He removed his foot and rubbed the back of his head. "Tch..."

Happy again and ignoring the four wolves, Enya moved further into the cave, "Fenrir insisted on trying to see me naked before we came here." She explained, teasing said wolf, who apparently didn't see it that way. Fenrir let out a low snarl, "I did not! I only said I'd seen you na- Why am I even arguing?! You can't hear me!" He yelled, but true enough, the only thing she heard was few barks and a long howl. "What are you doing out here?" She asked, pretending that Fenrir wasn't freaking out behind her. She motioned towards the wolves, seemingly amused, "And how did you manage to know them out? ... Actually, do you and your friends need to be healed?" She questioned, appearing very worried.

"Wow, what a pervert." He smirked, hearing his brother speak, but not really paying attention. He tended to yell and shout a lot in the background. It was just something you eventually got used too. "I have a good nose." He said with a slight chuckle, pointing up at his nose. It looked like a humans, but it was still enhanced greatly. "I found them easily and taking them out was a little bit of a workout, but not to dangerous." The others moved up behind Karo, revealing scrapes and small cuts on their faces or arms. Karo had a huge gash on his cheek and chest, but he seemed to not even notice them. He looked down at the one on his chest and laughed nervously. "I protect my pack no matter what the cost." Auso looked away with a scowl, having to admit that Karoku had actually saved his life kind of irritated him. He had made a mistake and it almost cost the wolf maolna his life, but Karoku interfered. Karo's ears twitched a little and his tail wagged a bit more as he smiled at Enya.

Enya smiled brightly at Karoku, she was starting to get used to the fact he turned down healing; she would've forced it on him like she so often did to Fenrir, but she needed to conserve energy anyway. "I'm glad for that nose, then, otherwise I'd be in a lot of trouble, so thank you," She said greatfully, bowing slightly. "I suppose this means, though, that you'll get to see me work." She explained, her smile relaxing as she shrugged her shoulders.
Sheating the Tiger Claws back at her hips, Enya moved to the closest wolf and climbed up onto it's back, finding a place where she could settle herself between two protruding, faintly glowing, crystals. Eyes closed, Enya placed both hands on the crystal in front of her. It hurt, a lot, the Crystal Goddess's voice was much louder, she was starting to get a migraine, but after a moment of concentration the light faded in the crystals and they slid out of the wolf, dissolving into dust when they came into contact with the floor.

Seeing Enya's ability had been one of his goals, so things were working greatly. His brow was raised as she saw her power at work. He crosses his arms and lifted one up, setting his finger against his tilted head. A slight grin formed on his lips and he began to applaud her once she was finished. "Excellent work, Enya." He chuckled through his teeth as he smiled widely. The only problem he found with the little purification, was that he could tell she was in extreme pain. He watched her, waiting for any signs that she may fall unconscious or stagger.

Rhia stood and watched the brief argument, fighting back a smile. She would have to get used the these scuffles, traveling with them, and Rhia figured it would be easier if she didn't take the quarreling too seriously.
"Well, Edane, that sounds very reasonable to me," she said offering her hand to seal the agreement. "And, Rothmet, while I deeply appreciate your generosity, if you find you would also like your pay by the end of the journey, it's yours for the taking," she added, her graceful hands gesturing as she spoke.
Rhiannon was relieved to have found people to help her. In Hikamitsu she had been with a group of people, all of them researching their own theories, and hadn't ever really felt threatened despite some of the dangerous surroundings. Traveling into the mountains of Rathbhin was not something she wanted to do alone, and finding Edane and Rothmet had been both fortuitous and greatly needed.
"Do you need to get anything together before we leave? Buy supplies and whatnot? I wasn't thinking we'd start traveling today, I have to pack," she amended, not wanting them to think they were going on the road immediately. That would be unreasonable.
"Oh, and if you need somewhere to stay until we leave, I have a house here in the city," Rhia added this as an afterthought.
She often forgot she even had her own house, since traveling had been such a big part of her life. Rhia really only used it between journeys, and while it was clean and well kept, something about it seemed empty.

Smiling slightly, Enya slid off of the wolf's back and onto the floor, bowing. "Thank you." She replied, looking immensily pleased. Enya couldn't help but slide a glance Fenrir's way, thinking to herself, 'You've never praised my work before...' With one wolf down and three to go, Enya moved slowly to the next one, again finding a spot where she could slide between the crystals. It was hard to believe no one else could hear it, that painful, high pitched sound, like thousands of glasses being shattered at once, and that voice, humming beneath it all.
Taking a deep breath, Enya steeled herself, and then placed her hands on the crystal, closed her eyes, and allowed her mind to slip into it in order to force the Crystal Goddess out. On the inside of the crystals, her voice was louder, but Enya continued on, ignoring the voice of the Goddess speaking to the wolf, trying to force it awake; until suddenly she was speaking to her. "So here we are again... the two of us locked in the dance..." The voice spoke calmly, as if from just behind Enya, whispering in her ear. "You trying to stop me... and I allowing you to..." At those words the crystals went dead and slid from the wolf, shattering across the stone floor.

Karoku's eyes stayed on Enya's face as she continued the process of removing the crystals. He didn't like the expression she was giving; one of pain. There was nothing he could do though, so he leaned back slightly on his heels and watched her closely. "Don't overdo it, Enya." he said, his voice becoming gentle and caring. He didn't want her to exhaust herself to greatly. After all, with both Fenrir and Karoku around, the wolves wouldn't be causing a problem and would remain immobilized until everything was complete.

After sparing a brief glance at Karoku's face, Fenrir returned to watching Enya carefully; he knew exactly what was happening, after all, he too had once heard the Crystal Goddess's voice inside of his head. Enya had told him how loud the sound of the crystals were to her, and very reluctantly she had said she often heard the Goddess's voice as well. He had a feeling that with this many wolves the Crystal Goddess was taking to opprotunity to mess with her.
Trying not to look as if she was in too much pain, or terrified, Enya moved from the wolf and moved towards the next one. "I have rather powerful magic, using it like this isn't a bother." She called to Karoku, but when she glanced over her shoulder she shot Fenrir a look of worry, then she climbed her way onto the wolf's back. She braced her hands and again slipped into the crystal, only to be greeted immediately with the sound of screaming; this wolf, like Fenrir when he was possessed, was trying to fight back... The good news was that this would make it easier.
"Do you honestly believe, my dear, that I'll allow you to continue without reprecussions?" The Crystal Goddess asked from inside the crystal. "I think, perhaps... yes, I think I just might test out your new ally's strength." She said slowly, and then she disappeared from the mind of the one wolf, allowing Enya to work without obsticles, but neither did she help her like the last time; no, instead she was waking the remaining wolf. As the crystals slid to the floor and shattered, Enya immediately turned and called out, "Karoku! The other wolf!" Just a fraction of a second after that, the remaining possesed Maolna rose to it's feet.

Kaledan and Malcholar glanced at each other. As much as he hated to admit it, they were both poor,m and only had what they carried. Which included little more then their cloths, weapons, and the feeble amount of money they both carried with them. Neither really worked for money, and Kaledan refused to steal money from the corpses he created. So they were both already packed, technically.
"I believe we are both ready to begin, but of course we shall wait for you to pack Miss Rhia. I wouldn't impose upon you by sleeping in your home untill you're ready though, there are plenty of places for us to stay in the meantime."
The matter was settled in Kaledan's mind. He had enough money for a room in the city. He had everything he needed to escort Rhia, all that was needed was for her to pack. Malcholar had an objection though, as he usually did.
"He can sleep in some poorly kept run-down room somewhere in the city if he wants to. I on the other hand would be glad to accept your hospitality Rhia."
Malcholar was growing every more tired of his companion's chivalry. If there was an opportunity to better his current position Malcholar was almost certain to take it. He had no problem accepting this woman's offer for a decent room to spend the night in. Besides, he would enjoy a night away from his companion.
"I couldn't possibly let a moral-less brute like him spend a night in the same house as you. I shall have to accept your hospitality as well."
Malcholar felt his eye twitch at the insult. He was an intellectual, not a brute, even if he was an intellectual who carried a shotgun and had the combat skills of a veteran warrior. Plus he had some morals, he just didn't have a book of them to follow like his companion. Instead of yelling though he let out a sigh of frustration.
"I guess it is decided then."

Karo's ears perked up as he heard Enya's voice. There was little time to react as the wolf pounced towards him. With excellent speed and maneuverability, Karoku flipped to the side, dodging just in time. There was no time to hesitate, so Karoku lunged forward and thrust his fist down onto the Maolna's head. It shook it's head, barely phased by the attack. Karo quirked a brow and jumped back, turning into a wolf. Although he was much smaller than the corrupted Maolna, Karo was still very deadly. He pounced into the air and head-butted the Maolna in the side, then turned back and performed a leg sweet, bringing the Maolna on to it's side. He spun around on the ground and pressed his hand against the ground, flipped his body, and brought his leg down on to the Maolna's skull, knocking it out instantly. He sighed and flipped himself up to his feet then patted his clothes, knocking the dust off. A yelp escaped his as his hand went over his chest. He looked down and saw the wound beginning to bleed again. He placed his arm over the wound and tried to hide it from the others. He nodded towards Enya, assuring her everything was ok now.

Enya let out a breath she hadn't known she had been holding. "That. Was..." She trailed off and shook her head rapidly, then began moving towards the wolf, but before she could reach it, the crystals slid out of their own free will, clattering to the floor, but not dimming or shattering like they should have if the Crystal Goddess was released from them. She froze in place like a deer in headlights, her body stopping midstep. "No..." She murmured softly.
Instantly Fenrir was human again and at Enya's side, coiling an arm around her and pulling her back into his chest. "Enya, what's happening?" He asked her, assuming that she knew, but she only shook her head from side to side. In one of the largest crystals, the image of a woman appeared, tall and slender with long white hair, skin as pale as snow, covered in twining silver tattoos, her eyes a glowing teal. "My my... aren't we quite the powerful pup?" She asked Karoku, and then she stepped forward, out of the crystal, and walked towards him.
The Crystal Goddess walked right up to Karoku and patted him on the cheek, smiling. "You should be glad you didn't remain in wolf form, or I'd be tempted to make you mine..." She trailed off, smirking to herself, and laughing in a manner that most only use when flirting. "I would love to be the proud owner of one such as yourself again... after all... my last was stolen from me..." And at that she turned her gaze to Fenrir and positively leered at him.

Karoku was forced to let his eyes widen when the Crystal Goddess came forth from the crystal. He remained still as she walked up to him and placed a hand on his cheek, saying she'd have liked him to become one of her brainless mutts. A short, audible growl rose forth from his throat in a threatening manner. He bared his teeth a little, showing his fangs and how irritated he was. His tail stood up straight as he glanced into the woman's eyes. Karoku was unable to determine what he could do. He was worried that moving would involve others in the room, but if he stayed, something would happen to himself. The obvious choice was to stay still and allow her to continue. If she went for another, Karoku would lash out at her, regardless of the consequences.
