"But I want what you want, Kaoru... your happiness makes me happy." FD tore off some more bites with his shishkabob - he loved anything with a good kick to it. Besides... Fire Dragon thought to himself, what I would be unacceptable behavior in such a public location. "Well what sort of games are there, anyway?"

Leon went to the man at the front, a pirate by the looks of it, and told him that he wanted to enter in the next round. When asked what he was willing to wager... he was cautious. Didn't want to lose it all, or he wouldn't be able to put food on the table. Instead, he wagered just enough so that if it doubled, he'd have a little extra, and if he lost, it wouldn't be huge. "720 gold." He said proudly.

After paying his wager, he strolled inside the arena, full of confidence. He didn't fight without Anri that much, but he had a point to prove, and no time to fetch his steed from Leena. He awaited his challenger's accepting of his call to arms.

Annis the Raven

PostPosted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 3:48 pm

Annis nodded absentmindedly. That food smell was getting stronger now, and she couldn't concentrate on much unless she could get something in her belly, and fast. Whoever said birds don't eat much was a dirty liar, a very dirty liar, indeed. "Uh-huh. Watch where you're going from now on, all right? Don't think you want people trampling you because you fell over." Annis offered a very small smile. Around that point, she spied the stand selling what looked to be beef sandwiches. Annis was off in an instant, wings dropping a pair of dark black feathers to the cobblestone street.

Food! Annis hurriedly paid for her sandwich and watched as the woman took a hunk of bread, slapped on a few pieces of beef and ladled some sort of dressing on top, then pushed on the top piece of bread. Annis managed to remember a "Thank you" before settling rapidly on top of the short stone wall nearby, taking a large bite out of her sandwich.

Food. Annis chewed contentedly, the growling in her gut ceasing to exist. After a few rabid bites, her eating pace slowed, and she found herself content to watch people come and go around her, watching the arena nearby in vague entertainment. Have no idea how to fight, she thought as she bit into her sandwich again with gusto.

"Uh thanks." She said as the woman walked away from her. She continue to look for food. Shortly afterwards she found a stand that sold fish. She ran up to it and paid for one filet and started to eat it.

Much to Ephraim's surprise, there wasn't anything else that could be done without having kids and parents look at him like some kind of weirdo.....He was getting weird looks for carrying around a teddy bear also and at the same time, several passing kids looked at it like they wanted it or something. Although the bear wasn't all that visable since it was hiding a little in between his arms.

He spotted Nils with another person at some restaurant and Blossom and Aiden while was passing by. They seemed to be having fun...maybe he should have asked Sophia to come..it'd be more fun that way. He frowned, and passed a candy apple stand before hearing a very familiar squeel. He spun, taking a look around his surroundings before spotting Ninian a good few feet in front of him with Alihi, the tactition. You'd 'think by now he'd actually learn everyone but its never easy being a new comer. Ephraim blinked and approached the two ladies until he realized it wasn't two..rather three..Amara was there too but with the crowd he couldn't exactly spot her. "Hello Ninian, Alihi..Aaand" he looked down at the little girl "Amara~" a little glad he actually spotted some people he knew..but then again..it didn't surprise him..after all, Alihi was very protective of her daughter..what parent wouldn't.

((Sudden approach~ Sorrez if it ruins anything O.<))

Arashe tightened the string on his Hero's Bow, making sure that it was in prime shape for the arena. He'd been in the waiting area for quite a while, declaring that he was "not prepared" to have more time. Really, he wasn't prepared at all. Sure, his weapons were in good shape, but he was a mental mess, all kinds of stressed for the outcome.

"I've put my own money into this, and I'll not let it go to waste with a loss, for sure," he murmured to himself. "And maybe I can make some money to replace the dent this jacket made in my pockets..." A gruff voice called to him, beckoning him to the gate. With an annoyed sigh, he stood up, making sure that his arrows were securely in the quiver, which was firmly on his back.

As he walked out into the large, sandy pit, the sun's glare made him shield his eyes with a hand, his eyes straining to see the opponent. Making out a figure, he drew his bow, waiting for the signal to begin.

"Well, well, challenger. Let's see if you're worth the money!"

"A sniper, eh?" Leon smirked, knowing that at least this duel would be both honorable... and possibly winnable. "Well, good luck to ya, but I ain't a pushover."

Taking a hand axe from his belt, the now horseless axe warrior prepared to meet the expert archer's arrows with his own range. He was waiting for Arashe to fire... just so he could find the right way to counter and close in.

...What?

Aidan gave Lance a puzzled look. "Lance, you're acting kinda funny today..."

He nodded at Blossom's words. "Yeah! We can all do something together. D:"

Nils blushed slightly. His own happiness... made FD happy? It made sense, yes, but still... He stared at his skewer, now with no food on it. "I think there was a darts game and a ring toss game. What else..." He stared up to the sky for a moment before looking back down. "... I can't remember what else."

---

Amara whipped around and gasped, a huge grin coming to her face. "Big brother Ephie!!" The little girl let go of Ninian, squirming slightly out of her grip, and immediately latched on to Ephraim's cloak, climbing it. "Ephie~" She giggled, grinning up at Ephriam.

Alihi cracked a smile, nodding slightly.

Sue dismounted Andre, tying him up outside to one of the posts that other mounted fighters like herself used. She took a step inside the hospital where her friend and Host Lord, Rhys worked... overworked. It was an old building, but surprisingly clean for Learania's standards. They did good jobs here, all of them. The nomad was proud of these healers. Coming up to the desk, she noticed the receptionist. "Um... excuse me. Is Dr. Rhys here today, at the headquarters?"

Amelia followed Leon to the arena, standing and watching as Leon finally decided on an amount of money to bet, then stepped onto the pit. She shifted a little as the opponent took his sweet time in coming out to fight, getting impatient. It had gotten a little hotter outside as the man finally emerged, and Amelia had to pause in rubbing the back of her neck to stare.

Arashe? That was... definitely unexpected. "Hey, Nancy Boy! Good luck! You too, Leon!" Amelia shouted from her spot in the audience, making a couple men nearby chuckle at her. She still hadn't gotten around to asking him about that bowmanship thing... Amelia had been able to at least teach herself a few basics on her own, but her skill with even an Iron Bow was still pretty lacking.

"Don't lose in front of the Captain, Leon," Amelia murmured.

Durbans returned to the party, trying a random assortment of booths. He came up to a "Test of strength" and looked up the pole at the bell, taking the hammer in his hand. He raised it easily with a grunt and slammed it down, and a smalll shockwave crashed as the bolt shot up at the bell, cracking it in two. "Erm....Perhaps a little too much."

“Ooo, thank you,” the fox said as she gratefully took the steak on a stick and bit into it. It was much better than she had expected from festival food. Normally she would find such food repulsive and disgusting, certainly not worth her time, but FEF’s festival food was different from the rest. It was truly, actual, edible food!

“Wow, I don’t think I could last that long without eating.” Hatmon’s animal survival instinct certainly wouldn’t let her go more than a few days without a meal. The girl’s soft black tail twitched for a moment before settling back down, but this time around her back as a sort of pillow. It was times like this that Hatmon had to wonder how humans managed without tails.

“A show, huh…” Hatmon said, more to herself than at Ganon. Kris having left her; she was on her own, and it wasn’t exactly like Hatmon knew a lot of people, so trying to find others wasn’t exactly an option available. What did she have to lose anyway? “I have nothing better to do, and I show sounds like fun, s I guess I’ll stay. What’s it a show about?”

"Why don't we try the dart throwing one then?" FD suggested, consuming the final pieces on his skewer. He tossed the stick into a trash bin adjacent to the bench. "It could be fun." He stood up from the bench and turned to smile the bard.

Arashe glanced up, a sneer at the young General. He'd heard things about her being an aspiring Archer, and Arashe did need something to pass the time. Making a mental note to ask about it later, Arashe focused back on the opponent, a large armored man with axes. The only reason he'd known about the axes was because... one was hurtling towards him.

Taking a few steps to the side, Arashe pulled out an arrow. As his vision focused further ahead, he rushed to the left, firing the arrow while making his way to a nearby pillar. Safeky behind the stone slab, Arashe put a hand through his hair, brushing it up from his eyes, and taking in the cheers around him.
