Ember's face was stony against the clans. "I knew my punishment before I did this. He was...lenient to me." Taking Ariluna's hand, he pulled her back. "Let us leave these forests we love. Forever wanders."

Ariluna's father's face softened. "You would leave me for this man?"
Ariluna turned to face her father. "I would leave you for true love since you will not except it."
Her father shook his head. "I can't lose you, Ariluna. Not after your mother. You're all I have.."
"Then stop this fighting and accept us for what we are; love. Surely you know what it's like."
"I.. I will accept you both and the love you have for each other. I can see that it is true and I can't deny you of that. Ember; since you have been banished from your clan you may stay with Ariluna."
Ember's clan leader cut in. "I don't think so." Ariluna's face pained and she bowed her head. "He has not been banished. You are the greatest solider and friend I have had, Ember. It would be wrong for me to banish you and my wife would never let me hear the end of it."
Then, he turned to Ariluna's father. "It will be hard for us to continue fighting with an arangement such as this."
Ariluna's father nodded and held out a hand. "An end?"
Ember's clan leader took it and gripped it tightly. "And a new beginning."

Ember bowed. "Yes, my master, my brother." Turning to Ariluna she smiled, "We've found a way. We have been granted and blessed to live our lives together in this place we love."

Ariluna launched herself into Ember's arms and held him tightly. They were finally accepted. They could begin their life together; happy and peaceful. No more hiding in fear of being caught. They would soon be a family.

"Rosa and Gylden I'm sure will help us with the birth. Rosa was there for Gylden's and Gylden's already had children. Food we can get easily. I don't know about shelter. What could we use? Calm down, love." Ariluna shook her head, giggling slightly.

Ember smiled. "You've always had the more level head." Sitting down, he thought aloud. "I could take some branches and make a nice little hut or we could use a cave if there's one over there." He pointed a short ways in the distance. "Which do you prefer?"

Ember walked slowly so that Ariluna could keep up. Scanning the line, he saw a likely spot. Pointing about thirty feet ahead, "I think there's a cave there."

Ariluna waddled after Ember and walked the distance to where he'd pointed something out. "Yeah, I see an opening. Should we check it out?"
