Takeko chuckled. "Well, perhaps the gossiping foliage might know something more than the other Pae will in that case. Alright, to the HQ then." Smiling, she lifted Melek into her lap for a moment. "Hear that, honey? We're going for a walk! How about you run to the kitchen and grab us some fruit to take with us for breakfast on the way?"
Yay! Family walk! Excited, Melek wiggled out of Takeko's lap and onto the floor before skittering off to the kitchen on his short little legs. Using a stool, the child managed to climb up onto the table and started picking through the bowl of fruit, looking for his favorites, as well as something for his parents.
Hmm...an apple, a couple bananas, ooo...a pear! He'd take that. He continued his 'shopping' on the table, setting things aside for them to take when they left.
---
It had been an honest question that had started all this really. Kane wasn't really comfortable or familiar with the whole world of 'magic', so it wasn't something he understood all that well. Then again, did anyone really?
Still, with the exception of that odd experience with a plushie (turned clingy Fae-thing) as a child, he had little to do with 'magic' for most of his life. Well...up until the whole 'tiger transformation' had started. And while practice had finally allowed him to control his shifts to his other form and the instincts that came with it...he was still no closer to understanding HOW it worked exactly.
"Well, obviously," Kane spoke up again, "whatever put us all out did so for a reason. A skewed belief in protecting us or whatever it was supposed to be. And if they were powerful enough to do that, why couldn't they also keep us from flying out into oblivion?" Still, the thought of a being with that much power was...unnerving.
More unnerving though, at least for the solitary Kane who'd taught himself never to depend on anyone else...was that such a being used such power to protect the Pae, such as himself.

Waikiki KiKi couldn't help but giggle at Zuri's explinations. She smiled as it sounded neat. "Spirit one huh? I've never seen one at all, only pictures and then my waves ones." She had liked shaping waves to look like the dolphin.
Waikiki KiKi looked at the water, sand and waves. It was just like her great grandpa had talked about. He told the stories as if he had really seen it, but then all knew he hadn't.
She ran to the water and wadded in. It was cool and yet warm. It was definitely different then the water of the lake. She liked it. Waikiki KiKi saw a big wave, biggest she had seen and then shaped it into a dolphin for Zuri.

"True. Something with that kind of power would no doubt be able to keep us flying into the sea. The question is moreso a 'what has that kind of power?'" Texas Pete bit his lip lightly. Did the Guardians have that kind of power? They had the power to create life in some way, so certainly they could put life on hold, right? But yet, he still felt the Guardians had nothing to do with the occurrences.
Although the falling may've been what they had nothing to do with. Maybe they were trying to protect them for some reason? Texas didn't know. He looked to be deep in thought, debating two sides of an argument in his head.
"I saw we keep exploring. Maybe taking a look at the other side of the isle too will reveal the answer to that question, too," offered Magnus. He really didn't want to keep walking, but he did like how pleasing it felt to know the answers to everything. Maybe he could reason out some more answers if they kept moving.
Texas nodded; it sounded like a good idea to the demonic. "They may have left something in their wake. And even if they didn't, maybe there's some other strange things we should know about this new Isle." The demonic began to head towards the other end of the isle, but soon noted that they would get closer to the volcano.
"Maybe we should go another way. The volcano smells horrid."
The faerie nodded vaguely. "I hate the smell of that sulfur."
-----------
Aysu nodded. Yeah, it was just the wind, that was it. There was nothing moving in the shadows or in the grasses that she needed to worry about. The naiad was just being silly! This environment and the strangeness of everything she had just heard was making her hear things that weren't really there because she was assuming everything was far worse than it was and she really needed to stop this before she slammed into a theortical wall and began to flail in all of her nervousness as it took her over within.
She let out a deep breath, before nodding. Right. "Let's get to the shore," agreed Aysu, before swimming on ahead. Maybe seeing some other people and being able to ask them what happened would make her mind stop going at a million miles per minute because her being nervous made Noel nervous and now Aysu was even more nervous because apparently she was hallucinating and she really needed to stop it.
STOP IT!
Aysu took in a deep breath. She was okay. Noel was okay. The shore wasn't too far off. This would be fine.
-----------
He liked hearing her giggle at him and grinned at her, glad that he had been amusing yet descriptive in his little explanations. That meant that he definitely knew what he was talking about. After grinning proudly for a few moments, he realized that Waikiki Kiki had gone ahead and headed into the water. Whoops.
Zuri Seabrook dared to edge a little closer to the water. Then, he looked up to the dolphin that Waikiki Kiki had shaped. "That looks exactly like it!" exclaimed the naiad, amazed. She was getting even better at this than he remembered from when he was a child. He ran into the water to get closer to the dolphin.
He hadn't quite noticed yet that he had gotten himself in the water. "These waves are a lot bigger than the ones in the lake. Okeanos will definitely like it here," noted Zuri, his mind immediately going to the brother he knew was now obsessed with the idea of creating and making waves. He glanced from left to right in amazement, before looking down and noticing he was knee-deep in the water.
"Well, I guess this isn't too bad." For now, anyway.

Aspen chuckled you could aways count on his Mom to know gossip about the Isle and what better place to gossip than the HQ. "I think ther is no place better."
Aspen waited until Melek was out of the room and walked over to Takeko. He put his arms around her and kissed her. He then looked deep in her eyes. "I love you." He had a scare earlier and wanted to make sure she knew that he loved her more than anything, just in case it was worse than first look.

For Kane, the Guardians had always been some vague idea that floated about, something that Pae referred to when they needed some idea to explain a concept normally beyond their understanding. Or when they couldn't handle something, so it made them feel better to think that some higher power was taking care of them.
And so, the Guardians didn't often cross Kane's mind. He lived in a world where he relied on his senses to survive. As far as he'd seen, the Guardians were only an idea. There was no proof that he'd ever seen that they existed. If others wanted to believe they did, then fine, whatever. As for him, he'd not really give them much of a thought until they made a real impression on him, such as telling him to his face that they exist.
Kane stretched, bounding back down the rocks and rising to his feet. "We'll swing wide and go around. We'll see more of the land that way, as well as avoid the sulfur. That crap screws with my senses anyway," he admitted with a growling grumble.
---
Takeko was taken by surprise for a moment, but only blinked and automatically embraced her mate. What brought this on? Granted...the situation was unnerving and she needed to be there for her family as much as she needed them to be there for her.
"I love you too," she murmured, smiling and resting her cheek on Aspen's shoulder. There was nothing like being held, warm, in her love's arms to reassure her that no matter what was going on, somehow, it would all be alright.

Texas knew that the Guardians existed. He had received a note from them and had been gifted with a power shortly afterwards; it certainly proved it. It was moments like this that made him doubt their abilities, though. If this really was a case of fading magic, why didn't they fix it so the isle would be undisturbed? What would be more powerful than them that would make them continue sinking anyway? Perhaps they weren't so powerful after all.
Admittedly, that thought was a little frightening, too. ... Swinging around would take longer, but, "Anything away from the damned sulfur is good with me." Briefly, Texas became jealous of Zuri's new complaints. How he would love to not be able to smell that sulfur. ...Of course, that would also mean that he couldn't smell the pleasant sea air. Maybe that wasn't a good idea after all.
"Well, let's get going." Magnus motioned to Kane and Texas before heading in a direction that would allow them to swing around the bloody volcano. That sulfur choked him... but he really didn't want to walk so much, either. Which was why he wanted to get it over with as soon as humanly possible.
Texas chuckled, following after the faerie quickly. "You're awfully motivated."
"Yeah, well, I like getting some damn answers." And he liked being able to figure out what the answers were.

spookyx7 Ivy wasn't sure she had all the answers, but attempted to answer then anyway. "Oh, dear, no I've looked like this for a while. I'm an Elder of the Isle. The Elder of Flora to be exact." She smiled sweetly at the girl, were elders that few and hard to find that some paes had never met or even heard of them?
"As for the Isle, it has sunk into the ocean. Well, according to the letter on the door, from the Guardians. That's all I can tell you. We'll have to explore to see all the affects of this move." She wondered what else had changed and had a small urge to explore the Isle herself. The memory of the other Elder Alaera had met flooded back and she suddenly felt rather silly. Though with the chaos seeming to surround her right now it would have made some sense at least.
But hearing the news this Elder had to give her, the demon had to blink a few times. Fallen into the ocean? She couldn't believe it. At that explained the lighthouse she supposed.
"Note? What note?" She turned around and started looking around her.

Noel could tell Aysu was still nervous, she slipped her hand over and grabbed Aysu's hand and squeezed it. "It will all be alright, I just know it." She wanted to make sure Aysu was reassured because she needed her to be.
Noel guided the two to the shore and happily stepped out onto the land. She shook her wings out so they would dry. "On to the HQ?" She asked as the waited for Aysu to gain her legs.
***
Aspen smiled and just held onto the moment. It wasn't often he found these moments with Takeko. The older you get the less romantic you get he suppossed.
Aspen kissed her cheek and then broke the hug, "Let's go see what Melek has packed for us, ok?" He reached down and took her had as he wanted a part of her with him.
***
"There is a sign outside the HQ with a note from the Guardian's reassuring everyone." She wasn't sure if it would work for everyone, but that was what it was for. Ivy smiled at the pae and walked to the door, "Come see." The girl could read it for herself.

Right. Everything would be alright. Aysu relaxed into Noel, letting the angelic guide her back to the shore. Being tense and nervous wouldn't get much of anything done.
When they got to shore, Aysu seemed to be feeling much better. Of course, even when her legs formed and she got on land, the naiad did a quick scan around to make sure nothing had followed them. She couldn't help the uneasy feeling that was still sneaking up on her, but she muffled it when she thought she saw nothing of major importance.
"Yeah, let's head off to the HQ and see what they have to say." She took Noel's hand before heading in the direction of the Headquarters. Maybe they would know about something strange lurking in the shadows, too.

Noel nodded, "I'm sure someone will know what's going on." How else had the Isle changed? Noel hadn't seen the new location, so that will be something new.
"Do you want to lead the way?" Noel had been there a few times, but got lost on occasion. She was usually following Cinna who knew her way around much better. Now that her mind was on Cinna again, Noel hoped she was ok. That mate of hers better be taking care of her.

Aysu didn't visit the Headquarters all that often, but she was sure she could figure it out. It had to be in the forward direction somewhere. "Sure," replied the naiad, leading the way.
From time to time, the still mildly nervous Aysu glanced from left to right to make sure nothing unfamiliar was following them. She was probably being overly cautious for no really good reason, but after hearing something that didn't seem to exist, she couldn't help being careful. Maybe that thing had moved away before she had really noticed. "I don't go to the Headquarters that often," offered Aysu, attempting to defend how cautious she was being. "I'm just trying to find a familiar landmark that'll tell me that we're definitely heading off in the right direction."
The naiad then looked down. It seemed there were heading in the right direction. The grass below them looked rather matted down, as if a lot of people had recently headed this way. So there was probably nothing weird on this path. Finally putting it to rest for the moment, Aysu looked ahead.

((I'm just throwing her in if anyone wants her. lol I can throw in others as well. biggrin ))
Karma yawned and woke in her bed. She had been living in the HQ for quite a while now. Sol had left her ages ago, but she still felt this was home. When she woke, she felt something was different. She got up and looked out the window, there were pae standing around outside, but that wasn't as shocking as the fact that apparently the HQ grew upward, she was now in a top floor. "What?" Karma ran down the stairs and outside to see what was happening. The HQ now looked like a lighthouse.

Noel nodded and followed. She really hoped nothing was following them. She knew Aysu was just being cautious, but she could be right. Noel glanced around them and had her fingers ready in case she needed to defend them.
"This looks right." She followed and saw the crowd, but more she saw the HQ, "Whoa..." It was a lighthouse and she could her water. "Do you hear the water?" She asked and truned to Aysu.

Aysu's walking quickly slowed to a stop. "When did a lighthouse get there?" asked the naiad, bending backwards to see the top of the lighthouse. She was about to ask why when the scent of the sea entered her nose. After Noel asked if Aysu could hear the water, Aysu asked, "Do you smell it?" The salty smell was actually rather nice. With a small smile, she started in the direction where the smell was coming from, only to remember that they came to the Headquarters to see if the Guardians had left something. Right.
Aysu decided to go to the crowd that was mobbing around one little area of the Headquarters, pushing through so she and Noel could get to whatever they were all looking at. "...What?" That may've been one of the oddest things the naiad had ever heard. "But we've always been in the sky. I'm sure a tropical paradise is beautiful, though." Aysu turned to Noel and offered a huge smile.

Waikiki KiKi nodded. "Yeah, they are big. I bet surfing in them will be a lot harder...but worth it." Still, being the youngest of the surfing clan she would try it without her family either trying it first or at least going with her.
The teen sat down and only put her feet in. She didn't want to swim without the naiad and she wasnt' sure he really wanted to. KiKi didn't want to make him do anything he didn't want.
Jazz waved to Ivy and the others that were there. "Maybe we should check things out?" She offered anyone in front of the HQ that wanted to.
