The taller Grunt shuffled his feet, mildly kicking up some of the dirt from the ground, and made his way towards the reflective shards. He looked down at the shards of mirror, but overall, he didn't seem very impressed.

The Beldum continued to hoover about a bit, when something happened. There was a disturbance in the small magnetic field it had created. And it was not calculated. It was towards the left side of the Pokemon, in the middle of the shards which the other trainer had just decided to investigate. The Beldum turned towards its own trainer and sent a small magnetic pulse towards him.

The pulse was soon turned into 0s and 1s, which immediately caught 1337's eye. While he quickly deciphered the binary code, one of the mirror shards moved in a small circle in the dust beneath it.

"The Beldum has calculated that there are two disturbances in the magnetic field, both within the confines of these shards," he stated carefully. Whatever creatures were there, they were still invisible.

User ImageSmirking, Nadali waiting for Senka to approach her side, and nodded at the confirmation. She lifted a hand to signal for 1337 to back away, before looking down at her pokemon.

"Well you heard them, right Sen?" She waited for the nod before going on, "I hope you don't mind boys, but I'd like to rouse them the way that Senka rouses me...Thundershock!"

With the call, a flash erupted from the dark pokemon, heading in a streamline toward the glass and where 1337 said the pokemon were hidden.

Being the ever so "careful" lad he was, 1337 backed up one whole stride back. If the shock managed to get him, he'd just have the battery on his visor recharged that much more. While he watched the sparklers go off, his Beldum hoovered its way slowly, but surely next to him.

As the Thundershock's electricity lit up the area, two rather misty forms became visible. When the sparks shorted out, two Gastlies were staring with menacing grins at the two trainers.

"Gastly....?" one asked the other in an even more menacing tone. The two Ghost Pokemon looked at each other, and with a slight nod, they cackled out. One of the two vanished once again, while the other remained visible. Only once its ghostly partner vanished did the remaining Gastly glare at the Pichu with a Mean Look.

Was 1337 concerned? Not really. In an effort to be useful at this point, he pointed out quite casually "Don't forget the other one is still here."

Nikki nodded at the acknowledgment of her success from TRP. But she was surprised when her superior released her Chimecho and relieved Darkfeather of his ailment. "... Thanks" she responded, certainly grateful that Darkfeather didn't have to worry about that anymore. He still looked a mess though. But that was something she would have to remedy later.

Nikki then turned to see someone else coming in with their catch.

Well... Darkfeather wasn't in any shape to continue, and she had no more Pokemon. Thus she decided to sit and wait for further instruction.

Sam stared in horror as Sparx feel under the Hypnosis attack's hold. His small yellow body quivering. "Dammit Sparx! Wake up! We don't have time for you to fall under this spell!" Stomping her foot, the fiery tempered red head snarled with rage, "We're already behind because of you, can't you do anything right?!"

The small Pokemon eventually shook off the attack and looked back at his owner, alert now if a bit weaker, wanting to redeem himself. Sighing with relief, the Grunt yelled. "Use ThunderShock!"

((-Noms Dante.- Well aware it's early in the day. I have a tendency to type evening as I normally say evening at any point in the day ^^;. He's going to be hanging out down there for awhile anyway.))

User Image He eyed the Ghastly with a great deal of prejudice and smiled at the fortune. A pokemon was a pokemon in this case and he had yet to find himself needing to take a break. Obviously Azra was doing fine as the Haunter hadn't been able to do much to it. This was the perfect opportunity to jump and get himself a second catch on the day.

"Azra... Get it!"

His Absol charged forward immediately, launching a weaker Pursuit attack since this pokemon was definitely weaker than the last. It would not do them much good to knock it out. They might even luck out with the attack and the Ghastly would try to run. Who knew what would be in store for them next.

((*fails for taking so long to get back and finish her battle* XDDD

Beware the incoming text wall...gonna' finish up with my char and get her back to the jeeps, since I have to see an eye specialist tomorrow and probably won't be online tomorrow night.))

---

Dust and wind swirled through the alley and once or twice Sierra caught herself swaying and reached out for a nearby trash dumpster to steady her stance. Celeste was giving this battle her all, determined to protect her charge from the Gastly. The ghost type wasn't laughing as much now, instead growing angry as the whipping sand was making it hard to see. It blinked rapidly, thrashing about despite the Gust attacks.

However, the Gastly was battling the winds and creeping closer. Finally, he got close enough to lash out with a blind Lick attack. Celeste screeched, shuddering at the contact before managing to flap her wings and hop backwards from the ghost.

"Celeste! Keep your distance! If he can't get close to you, he can't paralyze you! We can win this if you keep your distance and alternate between Gust and Sand Attacks!"

They'd been lucky to endure one Lick attack without the bird being paralyzed...they couldn't risk another. Celeste trilled in answer once more, trying to shake off some of the ghost drool before taking to the air.

She kept alternating between normal Gust attacks to buffet the Gastly about and keep it at a distance, then Sand Attacks to keep it blinded. Celeste was tiring quickly, but she wasn't willing to give up. She was determined to protect her human from the attacking Pokemon. He'd dared to start this and she was determined to finish it.

Both sides were weakening, but the Gastly seemed to be learning. If it couldn't get close enough to attack, then best attack from a distance and disable the annoying bird. His eyes glowed and Sierra had no time to shout a warning to Celeste before the Hypnosis attack struck.

Wings flapping slower and slower, Celeste dropped lower before falling the last couple feet to the ground, completely asleep. Sierra cursed, catching herself before running forward as the Gastly darted towards Celeste as the winds stopped. It cackled, sensing its victory...before the red light of a Pokeball sucked it inside.

Sierra watched the wiggling ball, fists clenched. So help her, if it'd help, she'd go over and sit on the stupid ball to keep that thing in there. Wiggle. Wiggle. Stay in there...

*PING*

Yes! Victory! Surprisingly, instead of rushing to pick up the ball, Sierra hurried to check on Celeste. The Pidgey was cooing softly in her sleep, much like a human might snore. Sierra stifled the brief urge to smile, shaking her head and immediately checking for broken bones as she lifted the Pokemon into her arms. Nothing serious seemed to be wrong with her...she was just asleep, exhausted, and still a bit drool-covered. All in all, things could have gone much worse considering the situation.

Celeste was light enough that Sierra could hold her in one arm while she moved to retrieve the Pokeball. Stupid thing. She wouldn't have wanted to keep the thing even if she could have. HQ could keep it. Oddly, her attention was more on the small bird Pokemon in her arms as she clipped the ball to the belt and headed back to the jeeps. She'd assumed that Celeste was weak, for all the lovey-dovey crap she normally pulled with her trainer. And yet, today, she'd essentially saved Sierra, going against the odds to throw herself into danger...all to protect the human.

She could have put Celeste in her Pokeball, but chose to carry her all the way back instead. It wouldn't be long before the little bird would shake off the Hypnosis attack and wake up...and Sierra wanted to thank her. Sure enough, just as Sierra reached the cluster of jeeps, Celeste stirred, feathers ruffling a bit.

"That was...good work back there. Celeste? ...thank you." Sierra's words were murmured, but honest. Celeste responded with a happy trill, seeming pleased to rest in her trainer's arms, despite her disheveled appearance.

"Gaaastly!! The ghost Pokemon wailed, cringing against the attack. When the Thundershock ended it wobbled a bit before frowning and rushing Sparx with a Lick attack.

User Image His irritation level rose almost immediately and Azra seemed to share the emotion as he snarled and slashed his horn against the wall, leaving a deep cut in it. He wandered back over to his trainer and plopped down beside Claris.

"Well... now we wait I guess."

The young man seated himself on a step and crossed his arms indignantly, as if to defy the impish behavior of the Gastly as he brooded to let the day wear on. If the Gastly decided to come back and 'Play', they'd make short work of him. This one had proven it was not worth his time catching and he'd just pummel it into the dirt.

SEA ducked away from the barrage of bubbles, though still took a bit of damage from the small explosions that followed their popping. She held fast and kept her eyes on the opponent, used to the attacks. The Haunter however was slightly stunned, partially from the attack and partially from how his own move caused it. "Haun?" SEA took the advantage to pull out a duskball from the diverse collection of pokeballs stored on her belt. Another pokeball wouldn't cut it this time since SEA didn't think she was going to get anymore attacks out of her squirtle. She threw the dark green colored ball at the ghost pokemon, hoping the special pokeball did its work. The Hanter was pulled into the duskball just as Othello fell to the floor in the background and finally spun to a stop. The ball shuddered once... twice... and again, then stilled, letting out a sharp ping. "Yes!" SEA cheered and retrieved the duskball. "Mission complete." Only after the Haunter was tucked safely away in the pokeball on SEA's belt did Othello emerge from his shell. Despite the fact that he hid away during the entire fight, he looked rather pleased with himself. He must have figured that SEA would never have been able to catch the pokemon without his help (if you can call it 'help'). "Good work, Othello," SEA praised him anyways. "Now we just need to go report back to TRP." "Squirtle," the pokemon nodded in agreement. He walked ahead of her from the building, strutting his stuff, yet still trying to keep an eye out for anymore ghosts without being too obvious.

[[ Hope it is okay to use different pokeballs. I'll change it if not. ]]

User ImageNadali covered her eyes from the flash of Senka, blinking a few times when the glass reflected it back toward them. It wasn't the first time she saw the attack, but the bright light from the shock seemed even more intense in the dusty room.

As she pulled down her arm, she noticed two shapes appear out of no where. Frowning a moment, she lifted her pokedex and recorded them with a quick flip, just as she did with Beldum, and listened to their wheeze of a cry.

Than, just as quickly as they appeared, they disappeared, and Nadali was forced into a focus. She decided, more so the Ghastly did, that since it attacked her Pichu, she would simply deal with the one, and leave the other for 1337.

"Well gee..." She mumbled, before adding, "Just keep an eye on your back...Senka and I will deal with this one...As long as we focus on them, we should be able to keep track...plus your pokemon could probably scout out where the missing one went..."

Senka, all while this conversation went on, was looking eye-to-eye with the strange pokemon. She didn't realize at first, but suddenly she was entranced with the creature, and unable to get far enough away. The move must have done something, because she was trapped. However, it was not as if the creature intended to leave.

"Alright Senka...let's see if we can do a little Charm!" She smirked and called out, watching as Senka lifted her dark body and did a sort of twirl.

Rather than wait much longer, 1337 suddenly did something rather unannounced. He rather casually tossed a Pokeball at the Gastly.

"Gast...?" it managed to say just before the Pokemon turned into a sort of reddish light and vanished into the depths of the simple Pokeball. The button of the ball glowed red as the Pokemon struggled to escape.

It wiggled once.

Twice.

Three times.

And then the button ceased to glow and the ball was completely still. With a slightly cocky tone, the grunt uttered "You've just been PWN'D!" 1337's logic had been that the Gastly had already been weakened from the initial shock. It was just a gamble more than anything, but it was the best he could do for now, since his Pokemon couldn't really damage the ghost-types.

The Beldum at that point sent its trainer yet another magnetic pulse, which was translated into binary, which in turn, 1337 translated for Nadali. "The other one is right behind your Pichu... and if you know enough about Gastly, you know it's probably preparing a Lick attack..."

"Gas Gastly!" a haunting voice cackled as the second form reappeared. Its tongue was hanging out as it did attempt to Lick the shadowy Pichu.
PostPosted: Wed May 20, 2009 6:40 pm

The level five Pichu took the damage and began to look a bit worse for wear but was ready for the next attack. Shaking his head, Sparx looked back at Sam for his next command. "Use Static!" The high pitched voice issued from the Grunt's chest, worried for her partner. He wasn't looking good, no not at all. . .

The gastly winced and shuddered at the paralyzing effects of static. It looked like it was having trouble moving.

User ImageTRP smirked as more successful recruits arrived, "No one's called for help yet? Good to hear. Alright, there's enough of you now. If you've succeeded in catching a ghost and handed it over to me you can head back to HQ if you'd like.
