Lol, I don't have much culture, I suppose. I'll just talk about my state. We have the largest home in the US, scene of lots of movies including a personal favorite, Hannibal (and incidentally a favorite day trip spot of mine). Living in the middle of the state means that in under 2 1/2 hours, I can drive to either the mountains... or the ocean. As for what we eat? I eat more of this than anything. Anything traditionally considered a typical food of the South, e.g. grits, is something I probably won't touch for any reason.

Now that I'm 21 I plan on taking a trip back to Biltmore soon so I can enjoy the winery properly. Haven't done that yet. biggrin

Kay, I'd be living in the Aloha State.
 North Shore; each year during the winter, we've got three major surf competitions known as the Triple Crown. I've heard the Pipeline is the most dangerous, but since I'm not much of a surfer, it's only from what I've heard. I'm pretty sure that's Sunset Beach right there, but I don't remember that big rock. orz We've got waaay too many tourists here, but it's pretty much a third major income, the first being military since we've been known as the gateway to the east, and it's a pretty useful stop right here.
Jack Johnson is from here. x3 You can tell this place is pretty easy going. n.n <3
We have a pretty diverse group of people here, and culture shock is actually considered a problem for some of the people who come here. In my university, there's a lot of students from the exchange program from Europe, especially Norway and Sweden, and there are a number of people here from Japan, China, and Korea that school here. There's about a 41% Asian population which I suppose can be considered the majority, but that breaks down to all the Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Portuguese, etc, and everyone else who are multi-ethnic.
Which means we've got a ton of different food around here! Shave ice
 In restaurants, people also put condensed milk, ice cream, mochi, azuki, fruits, etc. In regards to plate lunch, Loco Moco is one of my favorites, which is rice, hamburger, egg and gravy. Usually accompanied with macaroni salad. xD;
I didn't know this, but apparently, our state consumes the most spam after Guam. And speaking of breakfast foods, the Portuguese sausage here is good too. We've got good coffee from Kona. o.od Kay, back to Hawaiian food. I'm sorry for the page stretch. orz
 Anyways, that's pretty much luau food right there, though there's no laulau... On the left side, is chicken long rice, going clockwise, that would be kalua pig, above the pineapple is guava chiffon cake (which tastes really good when you freeze it), under the pineapple would be lomi salmon/tomato, poi (pounded taro), I think that's pipikaula underneath those orchids, and haupia in the middle. The purple slices on the bottom left is Okinawan sweet potato. There's also a tendency for eating fish, especially ahi poke <3
Culture!
 Sadly a lot of the original culture has been lost considering when the missionaries and foreigners came here, a lot of it was suppressed because it was considered uncivilized, but there are a few groups here that want to try and preserve it. The Hawaiian language isn't really used regularly, and most people here speak English, though a number speak pidgin, which is a sort of slang here. Speaking of preservation, the native flora and fauna are in decline due to animals and plants being brought here from the outside. Mongoose and rats do a number on the native birds and eggs, and previously, we didn't even have mosquitos. We're trying to keep out snakes and fire ants since those haven't made it here.
Kay, that's enough from me, take what I say with a grain of salt considering I'm an outsider... And ending with Waikiki at dusk.

Silly RiRi In this thread, reppin' England.
 This is our flag. For the record, the slightly more recognisable Union Flag is the Flag of the UK, not England alone. If I remember correctly: Right? ninja
