I got my period when I was 10 years old. and i had learned about it but when it happened i completely forgot. so i asked my friend about what she thinks i needed to do and she said she had never heard of a period besides the one you put at the end of a sentence. Her parents are very conservative to this day she dont know simple stuff like that.

i got mine in 7th grade at like 2 in the morning while I was at a bowling alley with my friends. .

Anyways, I was 14. It was a few days before I started highschool. I was a late bloomer. I was at my grand mas. So, me and my mom walked to the corner store. We bought some, then, I sat in the car for 3 hours, on the way home.

Well I'm 11 so I still don't have my period yet but I think when I turn 12 1/2 my mom started then(I'm growing...Big time though!)

right.... prepare to be confused, when i was ten i have my first period, i was at my dads and hes gay and I hated having to telll him cos there were no ladies in the house from then on he calls me a lady and it bugs me but then i didn't have 1 till like the next july and it was the day of englands first match in the 2006 world cup and me and my mum had gone to ASDA (what you american call walmart) to pick up things for a barbeque that afrternoon, anyhows we're walking round asda then i got a cramp then it got so bad i sat down it the freezer aisle and cried. The bad thing was though that next week i had to go on a school holiday and it was an adventure 1 arrgh i hated it, my instructor was a man and i had to tell him, soooo embarassing. the worst [art was havin top climb the tallest mountain in the lake distict with stomach cramps and no pain killers ouchie! anyhows can any1 beat me???? btw I'm 12 and a quarter

My period story is fun Alright here goes:
I was 13 (ish) and in 7th grade, all of my friends had gotten their periods already and I didn't really care about it or think much of it. At my father's fiftieth birthday party I was upstairs away from all the guests, went to the bathroom and ZOMG BLOOD!!!!!!!!!!
biggrin that was fun part number 1, along with having to find my mom in this party of 200 people.
Fun part number 2: My mother then gathered all our female family members and close friends of the family, we all wore red EXCEPT me (i refused to) and went to RED LOBSTER to celebrate that I had "become a woman"
There are times I wish that was a lie *shakes head* it's so strange.

I was living at my aunts house at the time...I was around 13
I was upstairs, and ironically enough, I was thinking about how thankful I was that I didn't have my period yet, when I went to flush. I almost gave myself a heart attack at how much blood had come out of me...
So what did I do...shoved some toilet paper in my panties, ran downstairs, and told my aunt.
She was thrilled...Don't ask me why..my family is a little odd.
She wanted to throw a "becoming a woman" party for me, and tell all my relatives...it was mortifying...

I had mine when I was 10 and we were at the swimming pool. I had to go to the bathroom and was having pains in my stomach so I asked my aunt to come with me; I started to freak out when I found blood down there and immediately told her. When she told me that we had to leave I started to cry and whine so she said I could just put a pad in the bottom of my swimsuit....Well...I decide to go off the diving board....and it came off when I came back up...I was mortified, grabbed the floating pad and ran into the bathroom as fast as I could. I made my aunt take me home after that.
Then, when I got home, my aunt told my mom who called and told the entire family that I had started [[ I have a big family...18 aunts and uncles all together. ~_~ ]] So I stayed in my room the rest of the time I was on my period. I've been irregular since ><

I was twelve andd I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst stomach ache ever. It hurt so much that I put my stomach on the edge of the bed and layed there since it felt slightly better. After that I went to the bathroom and saw a dark brown stain on my panties. I was confused.. it looked like poop and I think I would know/feel if I was pooping myself. Anyways I change panties, wiped (nothing there confused ) and went back to sleep since the pain went away. The next day I went to pee and I saw it again only now there was a reddish tint. I stared at it for a few minutes, slowly coming to a realization of what it was. I knew my mom had her 'period' when there was nasty stuff on this 'big tissue' because I always followed her into the bathroom so I called her over. As she came in annoyed I said "I got my period" and showed her the panties.
Now my cousin is in the kitchen right there across us reading a magazine and he's wondering why my mom is saying omg and running to her room and back into the bathroom quickly. Y'know it seemed like she cared but she threw the pad at me and said put it on. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO!! and I'm telling her and she says "open it and take the tape off and put it on the panties." i'm slow so i don't get it still and put the pad upto my v****a and then pull my panties up and walk around like i have a stick up my a**.
I came out embarassed because my cousin was asking my mom what was wrong and she wouldn't tell him but she was laughing. After awhile he was like "It's not like she got her period" smiling and i thought she told him so i was screaming "Mommy!" and she was laughing but shaking her head no while he got disgusted and left the room. I hated the most then because my first period was so uncomfortable and i took like 3 baths in a hour since that was when i was comfortable and my cramps would stop... ::sigh:: It twas hell. I got heartburn and the meanest cramps from hell. I still get them, it feels like the devil is in my lower stomach tearing at my flesh and i wanna go puke. I 'll make a thread about my other problem..

I got mine today the day before thanksgiving i have cramps, so far,I'm 11 ,i noticed my underwear was red i was like it's really it luckly i know where my moms pads are ha! tommow i'm going to visit my grandma for thanksgiving. thats it

Wow, my first period story is so lame in comparison to a lot of yours. sweatdrop
I had gotten "The Talk" from my mom, about sex and menstruation, when I was around 11. I spotted a bit the summer before 7th grade, but it wasn't really a real period. My first real period came the first week of 7th grade!
I didn't get it in class or anything. I got it at home the day before school started and because I had been briefed I knew how to deal with it. No big deal was made of it. no one ever congratulated me for becoming a woman or anything. So the upside is it wasn't a traumatic discovery, the downside was it was taken as no big deal.

I was 12 when i got my period and it was Feb. of 7th grade and so this is how it happened, i was out getting stamps for my mom and when i got back i had to clean my room however when i changed into my outfit for the day I left my pajamas on the floor with my underwear and when i went to put my underwear in the wash i noticed brown stuff and i asked my mom if i was blood and she said yes so we both went into the bathroom and she asked me to pull down my pants and see if their was more blood since ans sure enough their was. The most awkward moment about my first period was when i got back to school i felt i was wearing a big sign around my neck the said i got my period on saturday, or in other words i felt as though everyone was looking at me easpecially when i went to class in classrooms where the teachers were guys!OMG was that embarassing. my first period was horrible but now its like nothing anymore plus i am very regular so its like predictable. PLus this year i have all guy teachers so sometimes i feel out of place, but now that i know of so many more kids who have their periods its not so much of an embarassing thing anymore its almost like i feel older and more respected. Also the only other thing that scared me about my period was that i had a flat chest when i got it and i was afraid it would stay that way...im still waiting
