[Mind telling me whats going on before I bring in a symbiote possessed Hulk?

(( Oh, jeez, like Hulk needs to be any more powerful... ))

Joker heard a loud blast of sonics, but had been prepared for it since hearing the word 'symbiote'; he knew the weakness after working with Carnage, and had prepared. He pulled out a set of earplugs and put them in, effectively shutting out the most debilitating portion of it. He'd need to find the source as soon as possible and end the noise. Then he saw them: those damn Bat-bolas of the World's Greatest Detective. He saw two of them, and immediately read Batman's plan. He dodged the one aimed at him, and used the momentum to launch himself into Gossamer, trying to pushe her out of the way, and hope that it would carry him out of its path, or maybe she'd grab hold of him in surprise. If she did, that would be sure to move him out of the way. Not by much, but enough. Mid-flight, he found himself wondering why the Hell he was helping somebody, even if that somebody was a sexy spellcaster. He chalked it up to a combination of her sexiness and his wanting a little help in taking Bats down. He was also trying to remember if he had brought that extra pair of earplugs.

'Thank God...' Joker thought to himself, as he felt Gossamer grab a hold of him. Her grip, combined with his own momentum, forced the both of them out of the second Bat-bola's path, but just barely. The bola passed mere inches from the sinister clown's shoe toes. He pried himself loose of Gossamer, and stood up saying, "Hey, Guano-For-Brains, let's try something original, shall we? Bat-bolas have been used to death... Let's try something that's been used a lot less often..." He dug around in his pockets, and found a purple belt, similar to Batman's old utility belt. "A relic, from my 'harmless prankster' days in the 1950s... the Anti-Batman Belt! Let's see... where did I put it... AH! Here!" He pulled out a grappling hook and threw it onto a roof in the direction of the building, then remembered: the Belt has earplugs, too! He hadn't used the damn thing in so long, he'd almost forgotten! He pulled them out and threw them to Gossamer, then climbed up the rope to the roof.

(( The Anti-batman Belt really DID exist. Joker used it once, but when it didn't work right, he scrapped the idea. But, I felt like diving into vintage Joker, just to see what could happen with that little Belt in the hands of murderous psychopath Joker, as opposed to harmless prankster Joker. And by the way, yes, I'm perfectly aware that it just screams 'Hokey' ))

Joker heard the loud release of the flash capsules, and looked back at Gossamer. He looked out in a direction that Batman could be in, although he wasn't sure, and yelled out, "Now, now, darling, you mustn't waste all of your tricks on the third wheel, or you'll have nothing left for me! But I digress..." Joker then threw his own pellets at Gossamer, and immediately after landing by her, they also perform their function... they released clean air, displacing the worst of the gas and smoke. There was no way that he'd be able to get rid of it all, but the way he figured, a Bane-sized headache and grogginess was better than unconcsiousness.

Sapphire had made it to the edge of the rooftop and starred over at the next one. She could feel that her powers still weren't working...and she doubted she could jump it without smacking onto the side of the other building, and with her arm throbbing, that wouldn't help much. Plus that noise was giving her a migrane. There wasn't even a ladder on this thing, she had no idea what the stupid little test toys did because no one told her...how was she getting down? And if it was Blackstone...him being the reason she couldn't use her powers...and Gossamer down there...
Suddenly she felt someone pick her up and turned back towards the man in the dark costume again. She held onto him the best she could with one arm. Jeeze this was embarrassing...

Batman flinched as one of the bullets clipped his arm, and immediately disappeared down into an alleyway. They'd continue on the street level, and at a slower, more cautious pace; they couldn't afford to be seen again. And...Were they outside of the bast radius? He did some quick calculations in his head... Yes. Probably. He paused, quickly checking his the wound from the bullet, then dismissed it as superficial and continued. Still, he couldn't help gritting his teeth against his simmering anger; if Joker wanted 'Batman time', he'd have all the Batman time he could stand when this was over.

Just then, each and every one of the 11 batarangs stopped making that awful sound. It was like the sonics had been cut off with a knife. There was a beat or two of silence, and then... CHAOS! There seemed to be explosions coming from every direction, including one that came from just to the right of the Clown Prince of Crime. The firework show actually wasn't that serious, at least as far as the buildings were concerned; the explosions might take out some bricks. It was, however, a supremely effective distraction. Like the pellets Batman had thrown earlier, but multiplied by ten.

The farther they moved away from the others, the less Sapphire's arm hurt. After a moment, she could actually move it without it hurting, which usually meant that it had healed itself. Which meant that her powers were back...which meant that that probably was Blackstone. Not good...


Gossamer sat on the ground, holding her head with a rather angry look on her face. "Been better..." she mumbled, not looking up at him. She was trying her best to keep Jade from slipping out. She was angry enough, and her head hurt enough that it would be easy for him to. She didn't know who this Batman was, but he was definately on her list now. He would not do that to her again.
