Marcus had been enjoying his coffee when he saw a figure walk in. Kimi. The apple of his eye, the... whatever. Marcus stared at her longingly for a moment, then went back to his coffee. She would never even give him a moment, not to mention a chance. But Marcus didn't mind. As long as he saw her, he was happy. I mean, come on, chick bassists were hot. Even if they weren't physically attractive, there's just something about chick bassists. Or, at least in Marcus' mind. Marcus sighed and took another drink, ignoring the stares and glares of the many patrons of the cafe for his blaring music giving the whole cafe a more rave-ish vibe. Marcus sipped away at his coffee, now going over various 'appointments' he had. Sometimes, Marcus wished he had a real job. Sometimes.

Kimi looked up when there was a change in the sounds of the cafe, the song changed on someone's music player that was up abnormally loud for people who attended this shop. She looked around searching for the source of the noise and saw... What's his name... He attended the same boarding school as she. He was dressed nicely and his hair caught her eye. She looked away only to look back and catch his eyes on her. Kimi laughed and stood approaching the unique boy. She sat down beside him and took out a card from her back pocket, placing it on the tinny table between them "I'm sorry I forgot your name?" She said her low voice just loud enough to hear. She looked into his eyes though the glass of his eyewear.

Marcus had been thinking with a scowl of all the people he'd need to meet today when of all people Kimi sat right next to him. He scooted his headphones down around his neck, now making the music much more audible. It was Du Hast by Rammstein. Then the question. Ouch. That hurt. Then again, he had never really made himself known to her, but ouch. It was still a bit of a stab to the heart."Name's Marcus. I already know you're name. Kimi. I think you're in a band or something?"Marcus at that point took another sip of coffee, now feeling elated. He was talking to his beloved Kimi. Kimi! Unconsciously, he grabbed one of the little plastic swivel sticks and began twirling it in between his fingers, something he only did when bored or nervous. And it was obvious he wasn't bored.

"Marcus... Can I call you mark?" She pushed the business card closer to what he had been working on and dropped her hands back down to her lap. "I'm so glad you know about the band, that's actually what I came over to talk to you about. We've got a performance tonight at this really happening club downtown and I was wondering if you would be interested in attending it." She was trying to get a crowd together for this thing so that it wasn't slow tonight, they needed a bigger fan base.
Kimi took a sip of her coffee and leaned back into her chair. She relaxed her shoulders and looked at him with half closed eyes waiting for his response. Something in German blared out of his headphones and she smiled, it was cute sounding, very original.

Marcus thought at her first question and kept on drinking his coffee. Then she asked him about attending the concert. He nearly choked. Trying to find a way to recover, Marcus tried to make it look like he had been going for the card, then shrugged. "Actually... I've been to a show or two. Pretty nice. Although, I've got to say, no offense, but your keyboards aren't the best I've heard. I'm not saying they're horrible, in fact, they're pretty good. It's just I've heard better. If you ask around, you can probably find a great one." Marcus realized this was odd, someone who knew the keyboards telling her to find someone else and not mention himself, but he wasn't the type to say that he was better at someone at almost anything. The only thing he did do that with was fighting, and that was generally followed by proof. Marcus felt his phone vibrate and swore under his breath. Of all times, now. Marcus grabbed his rather bad cell phone, looked at the text message, and hung his head. Work. Marcus put his phone back in his pocket and looked at Kimi apologetically. "Listen, I've gotta go. I've got work. But I'll see you tonight, alright?" Marcus downed the last of his coffee, and, absentmindedly, pecked Kimi on the forehead as if she were a child. Then again, this was his customary parting. He was weird, alright? Marcus wrote his number on the card she had given him and left it in front of Kimi. He went to start leaving, then realized he hadn't answered her first question. He whipped around, walking backwards, then spoke. "Oh, and just call me DJ, alright?" Marcus whipped back around, made his way out the door and down the street. He replaced the headphones on his head. He switched it to a much angrier song, and started making his way to another alleyway. At least these idiots had his money.

Kimi blinked startled. Her face was frozen in that small warm smile she always wore. “Uh, See ya.” She said. She wasn’t use to anyone ever touching her like that. People didn’t do that to her. They just didn’t. She looked at the card and slipped it into her pocket again. She swallowed hard and closed her eyes, her face burning up. Kimi put a hand to her forehead and rubbed incase he had gotten lip-gloss or something on her. She needed a smoke… Quickly she got out of her seat and walked outside taking out a cigg as she walked. She fumbled with her lighter and the second the door closed behind her it was lit and burning nicely.
“DJ, huh?” She said walking into the space between the coffee shop and the next building over, she leaned against the wall and tried to reorganize her thoughts. They were all jumbled up and she needed to smooth them down, it wasn’t that weird, people in France kissed all the time, right? But he didn’t have a French accent, where was that logic even coming from?

Marcus was leaning against a brick wall, one foot planted on the ground, the other on the wall. Marcus was leaning forward slightly, and again a cigarette hung from his lip. They were late. Marcus scratched his head (it itched), and then looked off to the side. Finally, they showed. They were two short but well-built men, walking shoulder-to-shoulder. Marcus had a good head over them, enough to where even when he hunched he had to look down on them, but in this situation, Marcus didn't hunch. He stood tall above the two, eyes as cold as ice. "You have my money?" One man handed over a crumpled bag which looked like it would hold some kid's lunch. This immediately irked Marcus, but he didn't say anything. Damn unprofessionals. Marcus grabbed the bag and immediately sifted through it. Yep, all two grand in the bag. Kind of pitiful, really, keeping two grand in hundreds in a paper bag. Kind of a waste. Marcus sighed and pulled a black notebook from inside his jacket. He took out a pen and crossed off their names and shooed them away. Marcus started walking, using alleyways as short-cuts. He wondered if Kimi was still at the coffee shop. Yeah, it had been a little bit, but it hadn't been amazingly long, so there was still the possibility. Marcus was lost in his thoughts when he saw a figure in the same alleyway as him. Female. Smoking. Attractive. Familiar. Long beautiful hair... Kimi! Marcus' eyebrow raised up. He wasn't aware she smoked. Marcus subtly leaned against the wall next to her, amused that she hadn't noticed his presence yet. However, this close, Marcus was finally able to admire her features. Her lips, her curves, her hair, her flawless skin... Marcus stopped himself before he started thinking too far. He didn't want to be a creeper. Well, a huge one.

Kimi turning her head at the sound of fabric rustling near her. She saw DJ and smiled. "Hey DJ." She tried to sound like his actions hadn't bothered her in the least. " I was thinking about what you said... Do you know any keyboardists in the area, I haven't found any." She kept her tone light and warm, her voice unwavering. She took another puff of the cancer stick she held in her left hand and exhaled deeply closing her eyes momentarily.
"I need somebody young, and interesting, with a free schedule too, my one guy kind of sucks because he's got a fulltime job that comes before the band for him." She shrugged. It wasn't like she could do anything about it except only play music with an optional keyboard line. She didn’t mind it was just one more line she couldn’t cross.

Cigarette hanging, Marcus began to think. Good keyboardists... good keyboardists... he shrugged. Might as well be witty. "Well, I know one guy. But he's only available tonight. He's... kind of like a freelance keyboardist. He's got some gigs planned for the next few nights. I know people are hassling him right now, but he's trying to be as flexible as possible. After that, though his schedule'll clear up. I find him kind of weird, I mean, dude has a tongue ring. Lots of people get freaked out by that, you know? Dude has weird habits, anyway. He's around our age, only problem is, he's a real smart-a**, even to his friends." Marcus took a nice long drag from his cigarette, and breathed out the plume of cancer-inducing smoke from his nose, killing his sense of smell just a bit more. Now, another thought came through his head. How did he make it obvious that he was talking about himself? I mean, he was pretty sure she hadn't seen his tongue ring yet, and that was just about the only distinguishing thing about himself that he had said. Without realizing, he began rapping his knuckles against the brick wall behind him, so hard that it was slowly tenderizing the flesh to the brink of bleeding. And they were already tore up from when he punched the idiots earlier, too.

"Wonderful." Kimi turned completely her shoulder still resting on the brick wall, but her body facing the young man. She had hope and optimism drilled into her eyes. "Are you talking about your self?" She asked and chuckled dropping the butt of her cigg to the ground. She stepped on it before putting a hand on her hip and grinning widely. "Because is you are, I would like for you to join me and my family on stage tonight." She winked and held out a hand for him to take. It wasn't everyday you met someone who was as willing to accept people for who they were as Kimi. She often didn't let anything stop her from loving the people who played music along side her, and nothing in this world was strong enough to keep her from keeping this band going, nothing. The sun was starting to come out after the storm and she glanced up at the sky acknowledging it’s comforting warmth.

Marcus blinked, eyes on Kimi. So she did figure it out. No wonder he had a thing for her. Marcus smiled and stuck his tongue out, flashing his tongue ring. It was a simple stud in the center of his tongue, and yet so many people here still got freaked out over it. Marcus bounced off the wall, hands in pockets, ignoring the hand. He didn't want to take it. Yet. Instead, Marcus put his arm around her shoulders and started walking back to the cafe. He did it in a way that somehow made it apparent that he wasn't being serious, but for most it would still be creepy. "Looks like you caught me. And I thought I was being clever." Marcus finished his cigarette and flicked it off into the street, letting the cars extinguish it. He let out one last plume of noxious fumes from his mouth before entering the cafe, where he finally removed his arm from Kimi's wonderful body. Marcus ordered himself another coffee, then sat where he had been earlier. He wasn't paying attention to his music, at this point it was just another relentless pulsating beat to irritate the other patrons.

"Cute piercing." She commented. Kimmi herself had many piercings but they were located in much less visible places. She didn't like to talk about them much, only because if word got out that she was some like of rebel she might loose her job, and she needed to keep that. She walked at DJ's side allowing him to put an arm around her, but sat down once he lifted it. She was use to being treated like an older sister by boys her age, that's just how it worked for her.
"So, do you know any of the music already? Or do I need to get that to you?" She titled her head to the side curious as to how much he had been following the band, if he was some kind of fanatic they had really gotten lucky.... Her mind wandered momentarily, she remembered that she needed to pick up more food for Tess's fridge, Gab would have emptied it by now... He was a growing boy after all…

Marcus blinked again when Kimi made her comment. He wasn't like some sort of groupie-stalker-nut that memorized each and every song or anything, so of course he didn't know their music by heart. "Yeeeaaaaah... I'm kinda gonna need that so I can brush up on it." Marcus blew on his fresh coffee, then took a sip. Ah, boiling-hot coffee. His favorite. Marcus leaned back in his chair, now playing with his tongue ring by rolling it on the roof of his mouth. It would occasionally smack on his teeth, creating a loud tap. It must have irritated the other patrons, because every once in a while they'd cast a glare his way. Not like Marcus cared.

"Oh, okay." She fumbled with the back pocket on her school uniform skirt for a few seconds before retrieving a small blue iPod with matching headphones. She turned the device on and clicked to her own music before handing it to him. "Keep it as long as you need to, DJ, I feel like I can trust you." She sighed and ran her free hand though her long now dry black hair. Her shirt and skirt were dry now too which was a very pleasant surprise. She had expected to be uncomfortable all day, but now she would be fine.

After Kimi got her coffee and wandered off towards some guy, I placed an order for myself as well as one for Tess. "One Tall Vanilla Bean and a Grande Caramel Cappuccino" I slipped a twenty on the counter and waited for the drinks to be ready. a few minutes passed by before they were ready and I made my way over to Kimi who was giving a kid her ipod. "Hey, what's up?" I motioned my eyes towards her, wanting to be informed on what exactly was going on.
I gathered myself together and pushed the car door open with music from our last concert blaring through my bulky DJ headphones, blocking out any other noise. The cafe smelt, well of coffee I suppose, and freshly backed brownies that made my mouth water. My eyes scanned over the room until I found Kimi and Trace with another guy who I believed was named Marcus. As I walked over towards them I slid the headphones down to my neck and sat on the booth with one leg draped over the other. A quick smile was given to Kimi to let her know I'd be okay. "Yo," holding out my hand to Marcus.
