His eyes widened in horror as he clutched his own tail protectively. He started shaking a bit as he thought of what he just been told. "People are really like that?? Why? I don't understand! Why would he want to cut her tail off?? That makes no sense!" he sniffed a bit feeling sad for the tiger-girl

Maralah nodded. "People in the towns often feel that we are evil. Her tail is snow white and midnight black striped, and also very soft. He thought it was beautiful, though he didn't like her. There are no real reasons for their cruelty."

He clutched his tail tighter giving a small yelp when he squeezed too hard. "Thats horrible! My mom and dad are always so nice to everyone.. how can others be so cruel??" He still didn't understand and probably never would until he had experienced their cruelty first-hand.

She sighed. "Those in Furlow are much nicer than those here. It depends on where you are I suppose. In the east it is much better for demons, only small places here are so lucky. You would not understand, but I caution you to not go into the town near here."

He nodded "I wont! I just want to find my mom and dad!" At that he sniffed and got a depressed look about him. He'd never been away from home before... and certainly not without his parents!

"How old are you young one?" she asked.
Meanwhile, Zeda is watching Toshi. "Who walks in this forest of bones?" she called, watching the young human. This was an interesting day indeed, another human had entered the forest. Zeda was of the Fenton wolf demon tribe, they shared the name of the foxes.

The wolf girl stayed hidden. "The name's Zeda, you have wondered into the forest of bones. What do you hail to?" she asked again. She still wanted to know what was up with this human being in the forest.
((Human years and demon years are the same thank you, they just mature differently. Remember, demons aren't magic or anything, they are just mutated animals basically)) Maralah smiled and shook her head. "You are older than my tiger daughter. But, I suppose coming from Furlow it is no surprise that you are so naive." she said, not meaning to be mean but telling the truth.

He blushed a bit "I'm naive? I guess I am... mom and dad didn't bring me out much. How old is your daughter?"
"Names Toshi.. I come from a town pretty far from here, called Rinbula ((don't ask)) We have no position. I'm heading for the next town to stock up on supplies before I go on my way again."

Zeda raised an eyebrow. "I see you are used to such exchanges. You can't get into that town without a pass, if you need anything then go to the Fenton fox village or the Fenton wolf village, they will trade or sell. There's plenty of preserved meat and fresh vegetables." She had heard of Rinbula, they were completely neutral. Come to think of it, he even looked like Rinbula type.
"She is 15, she has experienced much though and most do not believe she could be so wise for one so young. She can be naive sometimes too, and childish. It's cute in a way, like your naivety."she said, plonking him on the nose.

He beamed "She sounds nice. My mom always bops my nose... I never understood why..."
He sighed "I see... thank you for the advice. Do you know where I can find either of these villages? I'm not familar with this area.."

"There are red marks to indicate the way to Fenton fox clan, black marks to the Fenton wolf clan. Any other colors and I would turn away quickly. The fox clan is straight ahead, they are more hospitable than we wolves I am afraid. I suggest you head that way." she said, dropping out of the tree and looking at him.
Maralah grinned. "It's a mother thing, we do it when indicating how cute you are. Kira hates it, she bit my finger once." she said, laughing at the memory. Kira had been only eight years old and had snapped her mouth closed on the finger, then looking up at her mother with such innocent eyes. Too funny.

He pouted and crossed his arms.. his ears drooping a bit "I don't want to be cute! Thats embaressing!"
He glanced at her unfliching "I see... well thank you anyway. It was a pleasure talking with you Zeda" He glances around for red marks just to double check the village was ahead of him and starts down the path.

"If you happen to see a half tiger girl, give her my regards!" she called, then jumping up into a tree and taking off, patrolling as she usually did.
She laughed. "Children never wish to be as cute as their parents see them. But we love you so you will always be cute to us. One of these days you may toughen up, hang around my daughter and I know you will." She said, chuckling and mussing his hair.
