Carmen just stood at the wall listening to everyone's tales. The more she heard; the more she started to realize that maybe everyone had been given a different story. Why was that? Was this a camp for the fine and performing arts? That had to be it... right???

She looked up at the girls who had been gathering around. Geez, she'd like to go sit down already. All this standing around like this was getting to her. If she wasn't going to be in motion going somewhere or doing something, she'd at least like to be able to sit down.

"I came here because I was told it was a camp for entertainers. I was told that if I came here for a few weeks; I'd almost certainly get noticed by people looking for new talent for their web shows, but I mean... What camp would provide drama instruction and woodshops? That sounds really bizarre."

Ratchet was right. The more she picked up around the room. Something didn't feel normal. All you had to do was see the variety of people in here. Some of these kids were barely a teenager. Were they ready for a week in the wilderness with teenagers pushing adulthood? Some of them looked almost menacing.

Annabel had almost lost focus on her objective; so many other Audios were starting to fill the messhall, and it was making her slightly uneasy. Particularly the big group in the middle- she'd had an interest in at least speaking with the girl in the cravat, but now... no thanks, man. Too many Audios around her.

"I guess so," she murmured in agreement, turning her focus back to the nerdy audio. Well, that was a perfect setup, if she'd ever seen one. Offering a more tentative smile- one that'd give off a more shy feel, she supposed- she glanced to the floor in 'embarrassment'.

"Making the most of it.. would you mind if we stuck together? It seems like a good idea to get a good group.. at least, that's.. the way I'm seeing it." And, bingo. Looking up, she flicked her hair slightly. This was perfect.

"Y'know? I think we could really help each other out."

Finally, the brit mod had gotten the one piece of hair to lay back. When he looked up there were even more new faces. Noel blinked and looked about, surprised.

He was just fine sitting on the bench saving it for his potential buddies he had met. The teen mod shifted back in his seat a little more.... model like and just watched everyone, not really paying attention to what was being said.

All he could think of what was being served. He was hungry man and really wanted some tea at the very least. He pouted silently, in an attractive way, as he waited.

Amused, she looked up" This loud enough for you?" She said, eyes twinkling. Looking around Helena regarded her question. What was in store for them? "Hmm, I was told I needed to go here for my sponsor to get 'squirrels with swords in them' from some guy. I'm not entierly sure what else is going to heppen. If our arrival here was any indication I would say bad things. Awful things. Maybe things even worse then in Final Fantasy games." She shuddered, thinking back on her favorite games, momentarily distracted. "But, my sponsor told me nothing of building, character wise or not. And I could have sworn video games were mentioned." With a quick glance around the room she sighed. "Definitely no video games here." Besides the ones in my bag She added to herself, smiling slightly.

Cotton snapped her head up, her eyes as wide as laced doilies. She then looked back down at the ground and nodded, holding her bottom paw up so the ducky could be seen easier.

"T-Thank you..." she spoke, her voice slightly more audible. She tilted her head to the side and looked at the personification of cute that was standing in front of her.

"I-- I like your ribbon," she spoke very quickly, "I... I wanted to say it wh-when you first came in, bu-but I..."

Beneath the chatter of the newly arrived campers, something was going on in the kitchen. There was the occasional sizzle, and the scent of hot pancakes filled the air... as well as the splurt of pancakes missing the frying pan in mid-flip, accompanied by the murmured "Oops. Heh heh."

At last a stack of pancakes was dropped on the counter, next to a pile of plates. "Heh heh," Chef Hatchet chuckled softly before grinning widely. "COME'n'GET IT before it gets cold!"

...At least the pancakes looked okay. Several bottles of maple syrup (Canadian made!) hung out on the far edge of the counter for campers to swipe or add to their pancakes.

Food. That was all that was on the brits mind. The smells were sweet and at that point in time he didn't care what it was.

The mod just waited at the table he had saved assuming Carman would make good on her word to bring him back a plate. The mod shifted his stuff under him and just sat there looking like poster boy eye candy.

@Chobi - Nigel looked up from his face plant and gazed across his table. He noticed some familiar colours on the mod-ish male that sat at the table in front of his and his ears perked up with interest. Had he actually found himself another Brit in amongst all this chaos? Well that would be fortunate!

Pulling himself to his paws, Nigel padded confidently over to the Brit-Mod’s table. Leaning on it casually as he looked over the guy’s outfit. It was definitely a tribute to back home, even if it was a little bright and over the top for Nigel’s taste. “Hey” he said, raising one paw in a sort of half wave, “You from England too then?”

((I might not be here for much longer, so if I suddenly stop replying, just assume Nigel is following along with the group silently ^^;; lol and I'll catch up when I get home later))

Damn Skippy! Carmen was a blur grabbing a few plates of pancakes, a bottle of butter, some glasses of water. She crammed them onto her tray, and she bustled her way to the table next to Noel.

She was glad to be sitting down finally. She was also glad to have space from the ever growing crowd of campers up there. Sure, she wanted to meet a few people. Then, she felt like she had suddenly been thrust into a huge group.

Not like any of them were specifically talking to her a lot anyways. She figured it wouldn't matter. She passed Noel his portion of things on her tray. She moved hte syrup bottle to the middle of the table after she created a small lake of it on her stack.

"Oh thank goodness. These look just as good as any crappy diner pancakes."

The LARPer was taken aback by the girl's sudden display of shyness. It made him feel a small handful of emotions, one of them being relief that he didn't seem to be the only one here who was a hundred shades of nervous at his situation. That in turn allowed him to feel a little more confident, so much that his face managed to twitch into a weak smile.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," he nodded, and whatever else he was going to say evaporated in his mind, the familiar scent of pancakes taking over his senses. The chef made him jump a third time, but... at least the food looked edible! He'd thankfully gotten over his little problem with flour when he was little, otherwise he'd have been screwed.

"I almost forgot that I was hungry," Simon remarked shyly, before slipping off his seat to file himself into the line for food. He figured (or hoped) that the girl would follow.

(( No worries Were x 3 <3 ))

The brit mod was taken aback by the other brit. TWO BRITS! Noel smiled his bright flashy smile at the other glad to have some one from his home land here.

"You better believe I am," He gave the other an approving nod, "Come sit with us theres plenty of room." He smiled wider ,"Names Noel Johnny Noir, mod, at your service."

Before introductions could be completed Carmen sat down next to him. Thank god, she had food! He was happy to see her but even more so when she delivered food. Oh god the food. He gave her a bright smile before he started to pick at his own meal..... a hair..... a speck of dirt. The brit frowned but took a bite any how

At his smile, Annabel had known she was golden. She couldn't have managed this better if she'd been God. There was a tiny voice in the back of her mind, telling her how absolutely wrong it was to use the poor boy, but luckily she'd gotten good at ignoring that. Practice with betraying a kind-hearted nature made you good at that sort of thing. She'd opened her mouth to speak again, in response to his agreement, when he'd gotten distracted by the smell of food.

Well, she was a bit peckish- and by that, she meant effing STARVING. Following along as the boy moved to get food, she walked daintily and quietly, not wanting to startle him out of the still tentative alliance. Standing next to him as they both waited for pancakes, she glanced over.

"So, would you mind if I asked your name? Can't exactly be friends if I don't have anything to call you." She said gently, mind reeling with joy in just how easy this was turning out to be.

"But what?" she said, genuinely curious. Then the smell of pancakes wafted over to her nose. She turned to where it was coming from and giggled. "Let's go get some, yeah?" she said, turning back to the camper she just met. She seemed shy too, but more than Helena. She giggled at the thought and smiled pleasantly at her. "By the way, my name is Helena Rose. You can call me Helena if you want to. What's your name?" She said, trotting to the pancakes.

Nigel smiled back at Noel before taking a seat, “Thanks mate. I’m Nigel Blackwell… sooo this place is pretty insane ain’t it?” As the girl joined them at the table, Nigel tipped his hat politely before resting his head on his paws and staring at the food she had brought with her, “Well…that looks less then appetising don’t it?” he started to wonder if he was really as hungry as he first thought, “I wonder if this place serves anything that doesn’t look like its been swimming in a toilet, then cooked in a clothes dryer on warm”

"Oh, I... my name's Simon," he answered as a small pile of pancakes were flopped onto his plate. His smile faltered a bit as he noticed that one of them had little grey bits of something embedded in it, as if an overenthusiastic pan flip had launched it at the ceiling and a few chunks of plaster from it had just been cooked right in. The thought made him cringe, but he supposed that he could pick them out. He did that anyway with dishes that had rice in it.

The syrup was something he skipped on, though; putting that much sugar in his system at once would have been a surefire way to get a headache.
