Malik cocked an eyebrow at the "adult movie store" comment, but passed it off as something he probably didn't want to get into - especially if it involved the runt.
He nodded in response to Atem's answer, then stopped at the Pharaoh's abrupt outburst. "Well, yeah, that'd generally be a good thing to do - considering you're his friends and all," he quipped sarcastically. He smirked in amusement when Atem cursed. "Smooth move," he added on reflexive response.

"Oh shut up." Atem half-growled, giving Malik a look. He might have forgiven him, but the I-like-you-you're-my-friend factor was still riding pretty low. He gingerly lifted his feet away from the mess and snapped his fingers, expecting some minimum wage slave, err...employee to come clean it, pronto.

Rackenov Jou growled and stalked over angrily. "Dammit, why are you always so rude to me and my friends?! I can understand your rivalry with Yugi and the Pharoh but you've always just put me down and made me look like an idiot! You don't know what my life is like! I work almost fourteen hours a day at that friggin diner because my dad finally decided to skipped town with all our money and savings. I'm stuck in that God frosaken apartment because of our year contract and the bills are killing me. So until you know what I have to go through, stop calling me an idiot, a wuss, and an inu!" He shouted, right in Seto's face, his honey eyes blazing and his whole body trembling from fatigue and rage. Well, this had definetely taken Kaiba by surprise. Had he ever see Jououchi have an outburst like that? I mean, sure, the blond was known for not being able to keep his temper, but this was beyond temper. Kaiba had to admit to himself that he felt a bit guilty-just a bit-for how he always treats Jounouchi. What to say, what to say... Kaiba had no smart comeback, so he settled for just saying, "Instead of working yourself until you faint to get out of financial crisis there are other options." Then he turned away feeling embarressed at how much that outburst had taken out of him... and Kaiba wasn't even the one who had the outburst!

The blonde sighed, turning away as well and running his fingers through his shaggy hair. "I know... I've been trying to get on financial aid but the bastards I'm stuck with are hard to work with... I've also discovered it's kind of immposible for me to get welfare since I'm all alone. If I had a kid or a younger sibling that lived with me yeah... But obviously, I haven't knocked up anyone and my sister's with our mother. Mom can't and wouldn't help me even if she could..."

To be perfectly honest, Kaiba actually wanted to give Jounouchi some help money-wise but didn't want to appear "kind." That just didn't work for Kaiba. Besides, Jounouchi probably wouldn't accept because of his pride. Then it hit him: offer Jounouchi a job, one that isn't minimal wage yet also not slave-driving like that restaurant. But then again, Jounouchi Katsuya working for Kaiba Corporation? It didn't seem right... but Kaiba decided to try it anyway, "Well... Kaiba Corporation has some job openings... I may yell at my employees a lot but they're payed well and, surprisingly, aren't overworked. Actually they're quite lazy... but anyway, you can apply for a job at the front desk." Kaiba felt like he was making some progress, but lost that progress when he unintentionally said, "Of course, I don't think you're very qualified for any of the jobs open, but it's worth a try." Damn.

"Make me, fern-head," Malik shot back. "And I'm sure the busboy will clean up your mess," he added. It was too easy to make jabs at the Pharaoh, and it's not like he was in dire need of his friendship anyway. His job made him grumpy. Atem was an easy target to take it out on.
Either way, it looked like they were going to have to rescue that Katsuya idiot from the clutches of Kaiba the superiority-complex poster child - well, Atem and Yugi had to. Malik would just tag along for the sake of something different. Maybe he'd run into Bakura or Ryou on the way - actually, he was hoping he would. Atem might just inflict bodily and/or psychological harm if Malik didn't keep his mouth shut.

Jou flushed at the insult but for once didn't retaliate. "I'm probably not..." He admitted, turning back around. "But why are you trying to help me?" He asked, sounding just a tad suspicious.

our bat-wing fiend walked around the city, looking for the darn directions of the place. somehow the owner of the bar made some "special" offerings from this company and he was to pick up the liquor.
"damn it, where the heck is it? he said, looking at the directions. then he noticed a small blur on the paper, he quickly made it into a paperball throwing it on the floor. "ok, i did this because ....im either crazy or pretty dumb. however the ink was wearing off so the letters didn't come out right..he comment as once again he pick the paperball.
"maybe someplace can get me the real directions. i know the place name' said bakura. looking around he saw a restaurant but he also remember thats where the baka no pharoah hang out with his puppy slave. "i hate Ryou's friends, expecially pharoah." then he went inside to ask, ignoring the presence of atemu.

Kaiba's face tinted pink. He wasn't really trying to help Jounouchi of all people, was he? "Help?" Kaiba pfted, "I'm not trying to help you. Kaiba Corporation has been in need or more employees lately so I thought I'd suggest it." he lied.

Jounouchi smiled softly and snorted at Seto's feeble excuse. Anyway, he thought thought the blush was sort of cute. Er... Where had that come from? Seto? Cute? He shrugged it of mentally. "Whatever..." He murmured, walking over nd holding out his hand. "Thanks, man..."

Kaiba blinked a couple of times trying to figure out why Jounouchi was holding out his hand. Then he nodded in recognition and-though hesitating-shook Jounouchi's hand very business-like, even though there was no deal involved.

Kaiba blinked once again. Jounouchi had managed to thoroughly confuse him. The two were so different, it was just so hard for him to understand what he was talking about all the time. Then Kaiba looked a bit suspicious, "What are you sorry for? And what do you mean by a hug?"

"I suppose you don't feel like being on this earth tomorrow then?" he asked, his eyes dripping with that familiar urge that he'd gotten SO GOOD at curbing...it was just so hard! Once you destroyed one soul, you could just keep on going...
