"I'm not sure if it is a problem or... I suppose all I can do is let time reveal what the solution is." Filix felt tired, and a little slower than usual. It had to be the shock, she decided, even if she normally wasn't quite like this.
"I'm not uneasy!" Filix protested, and grinned feebly as she poked Aesculus's unprotected stomach. "I'm not sure what I am. I might be ill? If so, it's nothing to be concerned about."
She peered back at Cervus, waiting to see what he'd find out.

The strange string of information she fed him made hime even more inquisitive. She wasn't sure if it was a problem, a solution would take time... he could perhaps understand that... but then when she suddenly denied her uneasiness and declared she might be sick he was confused. True, he was no doctor, but she hardly seemed sick. He shifted a bit and put his hands in his pockets, leaning against the wall, closing his eyes.
"If you are sick, my lady, it would be best for you to retire. Exhaustion furthers sickness, I assure you, for I have put too much stress on myself when I have fallen ill and it only made me bedridden."

"Trying to get me to leave so quickly?" Filix teased gently, leaning on the wall beside him. She signed a little, and leaned her head on his shoulder from the side, almost like a test.
"I'm fine, I really am." Filix told Aesculus stubbornly, even though she knew he was right. Something felt off about this sickness though. "If I feel sicker though, I will retire."
Her eyes continued to watch the room, but Filix wasn't as much aware of the room as she was the adult beside her. She felt like a teenager again, and the feeling made her uncomfortable and confused. She wasn't one, after all.

After sliding her mask off, and giving Muris a rather blank stare deciding not to awnser since Alces already had, she shook her head. "Did they take off with one of ours?" She sighed, looking around. "Too bad. Perhaps I should have brought my Kithain." She muttered to herself, before nodding. "Well the three of us shouldent stand around like fools, should we? Of course not." She hesitated awkwardly as she looked at the three of them. "Funny. Do you feel funny?" She pressed her fingers against her forehead, and then dropped her mask all together. She eventually glanced at Aesculus and Filix, managing half a smirk to herself, 'Oh. Aesculus didnt run off with his brethren.' She thought to herself, before that thought too became lost in a swirl of thoughts taking over her mind.

Aesculus paused to look at Filix as she leaned on his shoulder. This made him sort of uneasy, but not because he was afraid of her affections; that idea had not yet occured to him because he was of the mind she was ill. The fact she was now leaning on him only made him worry more, of course.
Reasoning and his personal experience assured him that often things were worse than one would tell... and tonight had been taxing enough.
"Countess Filix, if you were feeling ill earlier, you ought not to have come at all. I fear this night might have already made you worse than you were before."

Filix stood back up, shaking her head. "I'll be fine... it's already passing. I just feel a bit strange headed, and I didn't feel it when I came down. That's not important now."
She kept her eyes stuck straight onto the ground in front of her, waiting as everyone else seemed to, for news. Filix also felt guilty, as it slowly dawned on her that the fact that everyone had been claiming that their kithains wouldn't come down, yet there were larger numbers of guests anyway. She muttered, "I cannot believe that the Moon Court were here, and no one noticed."

He kept looking at her as if to assure himself that she was not deathly ill, and then turned his attention towards the other Fey that were gathered there. "The deed is over and done with, and now all we can do is learn from our mistakes, dear countess. Mistakes of past are easy to see, and mistakes for the future and impossible to forsee."

"I know you're right." Filix muttered. "I just feel a little angry at myself for not seeing it sooner."
She stood there awkwardly, not able to bring herself to look at him again. The shoulder thing embarrassed Filix, and she hated feeling helpless with this. For all of his books, he seemed to either be avoiding it, or completely unaware of it.
This wasn't the time! Filix scolded herself angrily, as her slightly muddled mind remembered the bigger issue on hand. She forced the other out of her mind for now, stranding straighter and letting both arms hang at her sides. She needed a clear mind right now.
"What do you think the King will do?"

"Cervus? I am sure he will come up with an excellant plan once he has assessed the situation. I am quite sure we will retrieve whoever is missing with whatever means possible. I have faith in our liege." He was surprisingly calm, as if this sort of notion didn't bother him at all.
"I do admit I am a bit surprised the Moon Court has been released and have grown so rapidly. We were not prepared for this... I suppose that we had been so naive."

"Of course he will. I have faith in him also; I just cannot help but think about how it might be done. Their magic seems quite ...quite..." Filix's mind went a bit fuzzy and blank again, but she continued anyway, "... a bit stronger."
Filix finally looked sideways at Aesculus, and patted his shoulder with one hand. "We are not native now, though, and that can only be a good thing for the court."

"I doubt it is all that much stronger. They only had the element of surprise on us, and that is all. You need not worry, I am sure now that they have lost their masks and the surprise, they will not be as powerful of foes as many may fear."
"You are not well, are you?" He furrowed his brow at her. She was trying hard, but her lapse in speech made him worry even further. Added to her previous statements and actions, he was becoming convinced.

"You are probably right, as usual." Filix gave him a weak smile, adding, "It must be a habit of yours to see things more clearly. But in some things, you seem to be as blind as a bat."
She gently elbowed his side, teasing him. Filix wasn't going to explain what she meant, of course, only shook her head and added stubbornly, "I am well, really. You don't need to worry. But it is nice to know you care."

Lupinus nodded at Winny. "Of course you aren't a baby. Hold on tight." He took her hand and helped her onto the wolf's back before climbing on behind her. He put one arm around her to make sure she was secure, holding on with his other hand and his knees, and they sped off into the woods with the rest of the pack. "Home," he told the wolf. "Back to the castle."

Cervus moved into the center of the room after a headcount.
"All Fey and Kithain are accounted for. Kithain, please ensure all of your family and guests are present. Especially any children."
He had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach as the old ways involved the harming of children.

The wolf's sudden movement away caught Winny off guard, and she clung on tightly to the fur, unable to think of what else to do. Already, they were moving fast and Winny could only press her headwings to her head tightly and wait for it to be over. She couldn't even ask were they were going, her voice got caught in the wind.
