((7th grade here was pretty good...it was the 8th grade that sucked so bad... We had two foreign teachers in our advanced classes.....And so that year sucked...but 7th grade was pretty great...))

Dakota sighed. She interlaced her fingers and put her elbows on the desk. She thought about how to word it. "Jeremy didn't kill Steven. He couldn't..." She looked of to the side. "There's no way he could have. There's just no way." A tear started to fall from her face.

((I loved 8th grade.))

"I never took a fighting class. I detest violence," Aya replied.

"Then who killed him? And more importantly, who is Jeremy? Since you seem to know him well." If Yoh wanted answers, he was going to get them, no matter what it took. Even if it meant making a girl cry. He'd apologize later.

((Sorry, didn't see your post, Stefiesgarden. I'll make an Anna reply in a moment.))

Anna shrugged. "A lot of people I know think violence is a sin. I don't, but it's certainly a debatable matter."

"I don't think it's a sin. I just don't like it," Aya said. "I never did like violence, except in books."

Dakota took a deep breath and prepared to answer. She figured she was going to have to fess up to what happened three years ago but she wasn't ready for that yet. "I don't know who killed Steven." She stood up and walked over to the window, looking out the blinds. "Jeremy....well...Jeremy..." She couldn't continue. She didn't cry but she continued to stare out the window realizing one important detail. "'Stop this'? The wall said 'stop this'. Only the people working here knows what I...we're doing. Therefore..." Dakota spun around. "The person that killed Steven is probably one of our own....." For Dakota that thought scared her.

((Yeah...I've had two foreign teachers, one for science and he had a PhD, we just couldn't understand him... And the other was for Chinese, that lady was so stupid. Her kid could teach better than her. Like I would raise my hand, and ask a question, and when she couldn't hear me (b/c it was like teleconference) she asked the girl behind me what I said.))

Ainsley raised an eyebrow, at Aya "Reading violence in books is similar to the real thing, you just can't stop it." She looked back at Anna and said, "I'll admit I'm sort of a klutz, but it'd be nice to know at least how to defend myself with something other than pepper spray in case they steal my purse first." She smiled at her, glad that she wasn't hurt anymore.

"It's similar, but not the same. The difference is that it's fake in books. Most of the time, anyway," Aya said.

"Yeah, but a lot of people think it's a sin. Same people who wish for world peace. World peace never made sense to me. I mean, even if people don't fight wars anymore, aren't they still going to hate each other again after a while?" Anna was, unintentionally, changing the subject. It could be a interesting debate, if the three of them could hold interest in the conversation for more than ten minutes.

"Yes. You seem to notice fewer things when you're traumatized. You also just changed the subject. Fine, but I'll push the question later. Be prepared." Yoh shrugged and turned towards the door. "Oh, and you never answered. What do you want for dinner?"

Ainsley shrugged, willing to debate, even if she wasn't the best at confrontations. "It'd be nice to have world peace, and if it existed, it probably would include 'world...love'" It took her a moment to come up with the best term. "But as long as it doesn't exist, I'm willing to learn how to defend myself." Whenever she had to walk home from school or something, Ainsley's only defense had been her legs. She could run fast, but unfortunately her uniform skirt flipped up when she ran.

"Ah, yes. I've noticed that the best defensive moves are ones that use the enemies strength against them. For example-" Anna was trying not to blow this out of proportion, and was doing it fairly well, but couldn't last long, if she was talking about fighting. Her face didn't make it look like she was excited, but there was a glimmer in her eyes that hadn't been there before. "-If someone is running at you, you just have to hold your hand out in a fist a few seconds beforehand, and they'll run right into it."

Ainsley raised an eyebrow, "I think if I did that, my elbow would just bend and they'd run into me." She was weak. The only heavy thing she really lifted was her backpack. Hopefully, this friendship would improve her strength. And she prayed that she wouldn't be too embarrassed. "Besides, how do you know when exactly to make a fist? She had thought fighting was something that could be easily learned. She knew it would be difficult for her, but just because she was out of shape. It had a lot more technical parts than she imagined.

Dakota shrugged. "Tacos. Just some simple tacos should be fine." She walked back to her desk. "And I can't wait for you to push the question later. We'll see if I say anything then." She smirked and watched him walk off.

Aya, bored with where the conversation had turned, pulled out her book. Rather than opening it and reading, she looked out the window. It's strange. I just don't feel like reading today, she thought. I doubt my parents will notice my absence. They barely notice my presence! Why am I worrying about them?

Ainsley glanced at Aya out of the corner of her eye. She understood when she pulled out her book again, having done so herself many times. But when it remained unopened in her lap, she silently prayed that the earlier scenario wouldn't happen with reverse roles.
