She kept his gaze as her eyes shifted from blue to a lovely purple. Quietly, Madeline asked, "Did it calm you down at first too?" she wondered if he had formed an addiction to the drugs he had been given. She doubted that the doctors were bother changing the drug much, so as his addiction grew, the more medicine he would need. But since his dose had probably not been increased, the prescription had become less effective. The bookworm of the group made sure to ask in a round about way, hoping that the memory would not trigger whatever sent him to the asylum in the first place.

"Used to calm me down all of the time... now it only affects me for eight hours... " He didn't have an addiction. Hector only took it when he had to. Pretty soon, he'll just stop taking them. "Soon enough, I'll be out of the mental hospital and into the real asylum... that'll just drive me crazy. Once they see that nothing's happening, they'll release me into the public, but that'll make things even more horrible."
((I'm dropping the stutter. Ignore it.))

Kia could feel the calm insomnia just like a blanket over her mind. She felt good, really peaceful. After a couple more songs her focus came back in as her eyes rested on Madeline and Hector for a moment before looking down. As the sickening calmness ebbed away she straightened up in her chair increasing the volume of the CD.

((Urg! gonk What I typed just somehow got deleted...like the page reset. *cry* Well, at least it's usually better the second time you type things...and I don't blame you Some Dude, I wouldn't even have been able to have kept it up for as long as you did. ))
Madeline licked her lips. Even she, considered the smartest of the four, did not know what to say. In the little time she had before being shipped to Sunny Heights Mental Hospital, she spent their time studying. Through books and the internet, she gained the knowledge, and she knew the laws. If the nurses in a mental hospital, like Sunny, deemed one of their patients as incurable, then he or she would be sent to the true asylum. It was the state's way of saving money. The mentally insane were only worth a couple of years max of treatment. And if they were not a threat to the public, then they were once again released into the public. She wondered how long that Hector had been here. He'd probably been a while if he'd already grown resistant to his medicine and was almost eligible to be sent to an asylum. She would have to know how long he'd been there to help him. And what made him come? She pushed Kia's warning out of her mind, telling herself that it was necessary to help him. But curiosity filled her instead of concern. She opened her mouth to ask, but was cut off, surprisingly by Matt.
Only a sound emitted from her lips, before they turned into a boyish grin, almost out of place between the strawberry pigtails. A perfectly waxed eyebrow arched to complete the face. He also wasn't sure what to say, but he knew that Hector deserved enough respect to let him keep his past hidden. Even Mattie kept hers hidden from Madeline and Madd for a while. Madeline was a good person; she just sometimes forgot in her desire to learn. No one really minded when she forgot a teacher was human, but from the reprimanding the other two girls were giving her, it was obvious of their displease. Matt left them to their work, replying to Hector only a few moments after his smile, "You don't want to leave, even if for nothing else but to get away from those guys?" he motioned to the nurse hiding all those CD players behind the desk. He doubted there were many under their watch who wanted to stay there.

“I want to get out of here, but I don’t want to get out of here.” He longed to look out a window, but there were barely any in there. Hector wanted to get away to where he was safe by himself and need no one else. “If I get out, I’ll either be in the public or in the asylum. It’s a lose-lose situation. No one wants to approach me in public, they run away when I freak out… I can tell this place doesn’t want me anymore, it’s like I’m the first piece of candy on the shelf, they want me to go first.” He seemed as if he was on the verge of tears. “In the asylum, I’ll go crazy. I’ll start hearing voices in my head and I’ll just be driven insane by them, they’ll point me in the direction that’s probably going to be my future. I swear, eventually I’ll kill myself. Whenever I go to sleep I can hear my mom and dad, I see them getting killed, and that’ll make me absolutely mental. I have no one around for me and no one will ever be so I might as well face the facts. I’m a waste of space, a waste of time, and it’s no use helping me." Hector buried his face in his knees. Although no one else could tell, he began to cry.

Matt tried to joke, to tell him hearing voices in your head weren't that bad. But the more Hector continued, the more unsure he became. Like most males, he wasn't sure how to comfort those outside of his sisters. So, admitting he was a coward, Matt jumped back into his mind, letting one of the girls take care of him. He did care about Hector. But tears scared him, and he knew that he'd need more than the pat on the back that he automatically wanted to give him.
Madeline gasped, and instantly felt guilty over the near miss of her question. Thanking Matt for cutting her off, she promised that she would never be so heartless again in this hospital.
Mattie instantly slide back onto the surface of her mind. She smoothly knelt in front of Hector, placing her hands on his knees. "Hector, look at me," she kept her voice soft. Even if she never ever comforted anyone, she'd been comforted plenty of times. So she knew (hopefully) she could at least help. She leaned her head low, trying to catch his eyes, even though they were buried. "The nurses here don't care. That's true, they hate all of us, and I wouldn't be surprised if they hated those who were 'sane.'" Mattie desperately looked to see if he was actually crying. But either way she kept her tone soothing, "And you aren't alone now at least." She gestured to Kia then back to him, "Kia's your friend, and I may have just met you, but I want to be around you too." Mattie wasn't scared of other people's fear. It was their anger that frightened her. "You may not be cured here, but that doesn't mean your incurable." From Madeline's records, there weren't too many things implemented to help patients improve. Mattie wasn't even sure if they had a therapist.

"I barely know... Kia, we just met... today," he said between sniffs. "And besides... you two haven't... seen what it's like when... I freak out." Hector un-buried his face. It did look like he was crying. "If you knew me better... you'd probably change your mind about... being friends."

[[keep going guys. ur doing awsome. i'm grounded right now so i won't be back until Tuesday. but keep up what you can. hopefully something can be done with this.]]
A tall woman entered the building and signed into the front desk. Looking around at all the patients she smiled and raised her voice. "Okay everyone! The therapy days have been rescheduled. I'll be here all day, so sadly no activities. Feel free to come to me first if you feel the need, but otherwise I'll go alphabetical which will make...." The woman paused pulling out a piece of paper. Her brunette curls bounced slightly as she looked from the paper then up at the patients again, "Miss Anderson. So any volunteers?"
The sedative was completely struck from her system when she heard her name come from the therapis's lips. She rose to her feet when it fell silent. The heads turned to her and an older man sitting in his chair leaned forward, "Nurse! You've got a runner!" Nurses blocked the doors and a nearby window as they closed in on Kia. She backed up and looked around, "No, she isn't talking to me again." She said backing up her voice cracking.
The male advanced slowly staying calm, "Now Miss Anderson. Please. Just talk to the woman. It will make you feel better, released. Don't run again. Please." his voice dripped with false security as thee nurses moved in on her. The one with the medicine smiled happily holding up the needle at the ready.
Kia's crying increased as she watched the needle. Sniffling she glanced at Hector and Mattie whom she had walked around. "Don't touch me. I'm not speaking to her, sorry." She hoped that the extreme stress she put on the words would catch Madeline's attention as she felt hands pulling her hair and grabbing her arms. She felt a needle slide into her arm and she screamed. Scream loud, and long, screamed like the rare screams after a death in a movie. She kicked out and grabbed the needle in her elbow ripping it down her arm. It was sharp enough.
"Get her to the emergency part of the hospital! NOW! DO IT NOW!" yelled the male nurse as another rushed over to the phone, calling in the emergency. A stretcher was brought out in which they forced a crying, screaming Kia down onto. Strapping her in they directed her through the room and down the hall through the hospital, a puddle and smears of her blood covering the floor.
Kia hoped to God someone in there understood her message, because she wasn't going to be seen in a long time. Not until they felt fit for her to be sent back in. She felt blood rushing from her arm as they pushed her into another hallway. A heavy blanket was falling over her now, then everything went black.

Hector watched the event. He was afraid of what would happen to Kia... she probably wouldn't get out for a while. Hector pulled his legs up into his seat, afraid of what would happen when it was his turn.
Eventually, she called out his name. "Evans, Hector." The therapist turned towards him and beckoned him forward, but Hector shook his head. "Evans, come here." He slowly stood, but she was far away from the hallway. Most of the doctors were distracted with Kia... he could get to his room! Hector first pretended to go to her, then turned and made a mad dash for his room. He made it there, but got pricked by a needle containing a sedative and something that knocks you out. Hector barricaded the door with the bed and a chair before he passed out on the bed.

((Okay, I hope you get free sooner. I'm sorry that I haven't posted yet. And I'm going to make part of this post black b/c its including multiple thoughts.))
Madeline reached squeezed Hector's knee, shaking her head, "You don't know that. And I admit that I don't either, but I do know that you're not going to hurt me, and that's all that matters." She gave him a small smile, trying to make it as comforting as Matt's was to her.
She spun around when she heard the the woman speaking. Instantly her skin crawled at her fake smile. Even though it wasn't her name called, she flinched hearing Kia's fall from her lips. Her head turned quickly towards her friend, watching her look terrified. They widened when she caught her eye, and instantly she fell back into her mind, letting Mad take over.
Still kneeling in front, Mad lurched forward, onto her hands and trying to crawl as she stood to help. The awkward movements gave Madeline enough time to stop her. She still snarled, fighting Madeline as she tried to take over. But the fight keep the body's control out of either of their hands.
Madeline knew that it was hopeless. And she also knew that Mad did too. As she gained control, she once again sank down into the chair beside Hector. She instantly understood code, and gasped shaking her head, "No, don't be!" She chewed on her lip, unable to help the crying. The three of them tried to cover Mattie's eyes, as she was dragged away.
Matt came out, being the calmest of the three. Mad was right beside him, keeping watch of everyone. His green eyes with their red tint flicked to Hector when his name was called. He was horrified when he watched he too run away. How bad could this be? How frequent was it? Our name is going to be called, what are we going to do?
Run. They aren't idiots, it has to be bad. They were warning us.
No, remember Kia's warning earlier? When we first met? The memory of her speaking appeared in their mind. She was sitting in front of each of them, in the exact way Madeline remembered her.
The girl in front of them had the cocky, obnoxious look from before, and little details, like that she fiddled with her nails, and a piece of hair was sticking out. Her voice also sounded a little different, but was close enough that everyone recognized it since the memory was fresh in their minds: "If you get the rules on the wall the first time your safe, once everyone's seen you around enough you get to bend the rules."
Madeline made the memory disappear shaking her head, We can't get a bad reputation this early. But--No, besides where can we run to? She knew that it was a good point, and no one could argue it.
Then they heard it. Madeleine Rollings. Together, Mad and Madeline turned to look at the therapist. Matt stayed deep inside her mind, holding Madeline, promising they were okay even though he wasn't sure. Pursing her lips together, they rose and went to her. They did not return the lady's smile, but followed her out. Mad stayed tense, ready to pounce. She still believed that being sedated was better than whatever was going to happen. Madeline however was studying the therapist, trying to find little information that they could possible learn about her.
((Wow that took forever to type for some reason, sorry. And there are so many color changes! There needs to be a easier way to do that.))

((Ugh! I don't know why the BBC code does not like my posts! I have so many different commands they'll all tangled up. I finally got it the right size (because I used [ /size] for every 2 paragraphs.) And a couple of them are the right color. Sorry for Madeline's statement that's black, you acn see the color beside it though. I really wish it was easier to change colors.

[[back! now i think there needs to be a time skip, just since we're all in different places and such so might as well bring it all together]]
Kia blinked and looked at the nurse. Time to go.....great. Sitting up she kept silent and got to her feet. Moving to the bathroom she got dressed and then got ushered directly back to the mental ward. After they checked her in and got her information she gave a false smile. "Nice to be back." she teased finally walking into the main room. She inspected the giant bandage on her arm before looking up.
