[er... so i'm guessing Raijin's here, too..? maybe?]

Footsteps could be heard, echoes bouncing around the obsidian Court. The shadow's movements grew more agitated as the footsteps drew close. From out of the warren of tunnels that pockmarked the black rock, Jes emerged. She'd sensed Raijin and Sara returning from Ice's barracks, so her sister's-- no, Sara's-- training must have been completed.

She wasn't sure what she expected to find as she entered the main chamber. She knew it was silly to imagine her sister as being somehow restored to her former power, but she admitted to hoping for that very miracle. The sight that greeted her was nothing nearly so dramatic. Sara stood a little behind Raijin, and even from this distance, her wounds were apparent. A bubble of anxiety rose in Jes's throat as she approached. Drawing closer, she could see the extent of the damage the combination of Raijin's and Ice's training had done. Sara seemed to bear it pretty well, a sign that perhaps she was already growing desensitized to pain. Jes's colder half silently praised her fraccion for the training methods they had used. If Sara was to be a weapon, she should have no fear or acknowledgment of pain.

"This had better mean you succeeded, Raijin," Jes said, tone, as always, level. "If you have not brought her back to me with shikai, you may as well have killed her off. I have no need for weakness,"

[shoot-- how do arrancar heal? i've never seen it in the manga. in fact, i'm not really sure if they have healers in las noches >.>]

"Your confidence in your subordinates is everlasting" He said sarcastically rubbing the back of his neck. "She has achieved shikai as desired. Her swordplay have also increased dramatically. I think she'd be able to take a 3rd maybe a Vice Captain" He said confident in his student. "I was unaware if you wanted to heal her so I brought her back in this state. She would only have minor cuts but Ice has a more barbaric means of training" He said sighing. He walked over and picked up an apple before treading back.

As eye contact with Sara was established he glanced over to the table offering her food silently. He knew she'd be hungry, it was how spirits regenerated. Wounds, reiatsu, even sleep could be recovered from eating food. It truly was an advantage but then again they weren't among the living so their advantages could only go so far.

Sara approached the food warily, never letting Jes and Raijin out of her sight. Her body was tensed and hunched defensively as she half-expected a blow or some other attack to come her way. She reached her wounded hand towards a bowl of fruit and grabbed an apple. The fruit's skin was cool against her punctured palm. Quickly, almost territorially, she brought the fruit to her mouth, taking a bite before Jes, Raijin, or some other entity tried to take it from her.

There was a burst of flavor in her mouth, sweet and crisp and normal. Her shoulders relaxed a fraction as she finished her bite and took another. Her stomach rolled in a combination of ravenous hunger and anxiety. It made her finish the apple quickly, suddenly afraid the food would disappear like some sort of nasty prank. Her teeth were sunk half way into plum when her stomach gave a flip. She remembered fairy stories where food was only an illusion and gullible humans unknowingly ate stones or leaves-- or other things that were much worse.

She dropped the plum and it hit the edge of the table before glancing off and striking the floor. A bright gash had opened in the side of the plum, looking exactly like an open wound or a leering grin. Sara felt as though she might vomit.

"The food--" She backed away on unsteady legs, eyes wide and frightened. "You..?" The room spun alarmingly and she groped blindly for the sword at her side.

((paranoia win!))

"Las Noches has no healers. If she survives these wounds herself, so much the better. If she doesn't, she isn't fit to be a weapon to begin with. I don't want her crippled, either," Jes responded to Raijin's comments with no hint of either satisfaction or displeasure. It was a straight tone, analyzing as one would a mathematical equation or a test result.

Jes watched Sara inch towards the table laden with food-- it was laid out expressly for this purpose. Jes herself didn't not require food as so many arrancar and her lone shinigami prize did.

She watched Sara drop the plum, feeling the rush of sudden horror that shot through her heart. There was some part of her that hurt to see her sister so disturbed, but the greater part of her could see this as an exploitable advantage. As Sara backed unsteadily away from the table, Jes moved to her, wrapping long arms around Sara's much shorter frame. One slender, white hand gripped Sara's wrist, preventing her from drawing her sword.

"Hush, now, angel," She whispered. Her shadows were flowing from her and winding around Sara, naturally drawn to the shadows that were already part of Sara's make up. More inky darkness dripped from Jes's lips as she kissed Sara's cheek. They crawled across Sara's face and neck, seeping into her mouth. Using her power to feed on emotions, Jes pulled the fear from Sara's chest along with the pain of her injuries, replacing it with contented lethargy and security. By constantly feeding her these emotions bit by bit, Sara would become dependent on Jes, making her a very loyal servant.

And my sister will never leave me again.

Sara struggled for a second, then sagged in Jes's arms, eyes glassy and blank. Everything seemed to melt away and it was just her and Jes. The red-eyed woman's voice filled her head, as soothing as a lullaby. Something cold slid down her throat and the ache of her wounds melted away. Somehow she couldn't even summon fear or anxiety and she felt much like the helpless prey, hypnotized by its seductive predator.

Then that feeling was gone, too, and all Sara felt was safe, much safer than she'd felt since she'd arrived here-- or ever, really. She didn't want the feeling to fade. The longs arms that encircled her became less like a prison and more like a shield. Her body relaxed, hand sliding from the handle of her zanpaku-to and hanging limply in Jes's grasp. By now, she was growing tired, eyelids suddenly heavy and warm, and she rested her head in the crook of Jes's neck, apparently docile.

Raijin smiled watching the influence of Jes take over. That was one of the many things he appreciated about his master. The way she was just able to take any situation and make it simply melt away simply amazed him. He scrutinized the situation for a second, then took a silent step back realizing her was a third wheel. "I suppose I'll just go work on my sonido" He muttered so quietly that it was doubtful anyone heard.

It was a bit surprising how quiet Raijin could be when he wanted. He was able to walk without making a sound it was as if he wasn't even walking on the ground but on the air just above it. He silently strode out disappearing in the darkness within a few seconds allowing it to take him in and make the silence absolute.

In the shadows of the court stood a man, who was known by most arrancar as a disgrace, and to some he was known as a visionary, but he cared not for what people thought of him he all he cared about was ending war, something quite impossible, but who other then God could say it was so.

"I see you found yourself a pet Jes, one I saved awhile back."

Zane spoke from his spot staring at Sara, a girl he had met a long time ago,a girl who he had saved twice, a girl who he thought of constantly since he had met her. Stepping out of the shadows Zane looked different then he did before, more scars lined his body, but these were not self inflicted, more like torture marks, but that what you got when Insanity was a part of your Hollow soul, also he had bags under his eyes, since he had not slept in days, maybe weeks he lost count already.

"So tell me why is it that you are so interested in this reincarnation?."
PostPosted: Sat Sep 05, 2009 3:20 pm

"What makes you so sure she's a reincarnation?" Jes asked casually, apparently unruffled at Zane's sudden appearance. Still, she wondered at his knowledge of this particular spirit. So far as she knew, Soul Society was ignorant of her existence, and no one beyond Jes had actually known where to look for her-- or even recognized who she'd been in a past life.

She gently hefted the sleepy girl in her arms. Judging by the glassy, half-lidded quality of Sara's eyes, Jes saw that she was entirely shadow-drunk. That was a common side-effect of using shadows. Though it had no such effect on Jes herself, users were generally unable to take large quantities without falling into a sort of drunkenness. The doses she'd given Sara were both large and concentrated, so it was no surprise that most feeling and awareness had melted away.

Looking down at Sara curled up in her arms, Jes had a brief vision of her sister. Her memories of Rhia were always from the eyes of a young child, small and naive. It was an interesting reversal that the younger sister was not only physically taller and more capable than the elder, but the one who was doing the protecting.

[Aww... Bye, raijin...]

"I used deductive reasoning, I know a lot about my enemies, I have to and it wasn't all that difficult to figure out that Sara is the the spitting image of the former Squad Two captain Rhia so I added two and two together and came to find the answer that Sara here is a reincarnation."

Zane said a dark chuckle coming from the depths of his cold heart that flowed with black blood, or to be specific the black blood of insanity, and on that note, a black cat walked into the court, and jumped onto Zane's shoulder.

"Let me introduce you to Insanity."

He told Jes as he petted the cat, and as the cat was being it petter it let out a purr, that sounded a bit to nice for the physical manifestation of Insanity, but well Zane had rubbed off on him, and vice versa.

"Well met, I suppose," Jes said, holding Sara a bit tighter. By no means was she fearful of this man. She'd heard of Zane and his peculiarities, but she had never concerned herself with him. In any case, it was ridiculous to think that the Primera would fear an arrancar lower than herself. She was quite certain of her own abilities, and, given Zane's reputation, it was not a stretch to say that he would have provided an interesting meal should she have been so inclined.

On the other hand-- he looked at Sara almost hungrily. She didn't like it. Despite Zane's apparently strong powers of deduction, he clearly had not discerned Jes and Sara's relation. There was little doubting its obscurity, though, and she kept it quite a well-guarded secret. However, if he tried to take Sara from her... Jes would never let that happen.

"Might I inquire as to the nature of your visit, Insanity?"

"I here to offer a proposition that will allow us to both gain something, I would like you to help me spread madness into the Soul Society for far to long have they live in peace, and you my dear, are just the person I need."

Insanity said as he jumped off Zane's shoulders and landed on the ground, walking towards Jes, he rubbed against her leg purring while he did so,there was something about this woman that made her a perfect tool in his war against order, he was Insanity, he was Chaos, and he needed to spread his unholy disease.

"You see I need someone who can instill massive panic, that why I have Zane, but then I need someone of you caliber to take away all feelings of hope, joy, and happiness, I also need you in case Zane over there ends up attracting some captains, so what do you say are you in."

As Insanity spoke to Jes, about his plan Zane stayed where he was but he was staring at Sara and for some odd reason he couldn't stop staring.

"Don't presume to treat me as a tool," Jes kicked the cat away from her. Her kick had no particular power behind it, but it was strong enough to impress the nature of her response. "I am the Primera and you-- all arrancar-- are but my subordinates. I have no desire to wage war on the Soul Society for the mere purpose of instilling chaos. They are weak as it is and they present no threat, while Las Noches merely grows stronger,"

Jes shifted Sara's weight in her arms. She didn't miss Zane's gaze, singularly fixed on Sara's sleeping face. And she felt an unhealthy desire to scratch his eyes out. "When I wish to destroy Soul Society, you will surely know. I have my own agenda, and, while your assistance would be a welcome addition to my arsenal-- let's simply say that i am tailoring a new weapon for Las Noches,"

At this point, Zane's intense gaze was getting on her nerves. "Now, is there something I can help you with, Mr. Jackson?" She asked, addressing the arrancar himself. "Or are you just here as the cat's go-fer?"
