Nick let him roll away, restraining himself from dragging him closer once more."But I didn't realize what I was missing at the time...it's hard to miss something when you don't realize that something better is out there until it falls in your paws. Sure I was powerful and confident, but I was also incredibly lonely. To know now how it feels to have a whole soul is an undescribable feeling of....utter joy. Sure I may have thought I was happy before, but I didn't know what it meant to be truly happy till now. No amount of power and confidence could ever replace this, and I'd give up everything for you in a heartbeat."

He couldn't help but smile, his cheeks more than just a little red. "Like I said.....this is the happiest I can ever remember being. I just wasn't before. No delusions of happiness. I simply wasn't." He shrugged it off and pulled himself up to nuzzle Nick. "I believe the topic at hand is repeating itself. Perhaps a change of subject is in order? Maybe....towards something I've been thinking over and is important to you?"

"Oh?" Nick grinned, his eyes twinkling as he moved closer nipping playfully at his flakes as he pulled him closer once more and then nuzzled him. "Tell me what's been wandering around that beautiful mind of yours that I can't get enough of?" He was sure he knew exactly what it was, but to be honest, he'd been waiting for Nori to bring it up once he was ready. He hadn't felt it was his place to do so, simply because he didn't want to push him before he was ready.

He wriggled half-heartedly, not at all trying to escape. "You took my memory of the first exchange... I suppose for good reason, though I remind you it's disturbing you can do that at all.... But now I wonder if it is really so horrible. You said I would be unable to go out in the sun for more than a little bit at a time after the second exchange. Does it really change my body so much? ...And if that's the case...is the first exchange a possible reason I have little want for food?" He didn't seem worried really. Simply curious over things.

"Drinking your lover's blood from a freshly opened wound, especially during the first exchange doesn't usually appeal to the one your trying to woo," he chuckled. "To remember that, to have that image in your head, I'm not so sure you'd be open to the next two exchanges if I hadn't. Maybe in time, but still..."
Nick thought about his other questions for a moment, trying to figure out the best way to explain it. "Yes it does, it's hard to explain but each exchange changes another part of you. The first one is a bit subtle, ok, no so much the mind-reading part of it, but the change in hearing and lack of appetite...the next two have more life-altering affects, the second one affecting you more physically, and the third is a longer process, and more painful as it's finishing the process and ridding your body of the poisons it's acquired. And yes, that is part of the effect of the first exchange that you no longer desire the food you did." He was studying Nori's face for any sign of confusion, as honestly he wasn't sure he'd articulated it all that well.
