*Griffin returns the grip firmly, as was polite.* I’ll take that into account. * With that he carries his mother into the tower. It would be nice if his mother could just stay like this, unconscious and all. He almost laughs at the idea. Bell would want to go, so he’d have another fight on his hands soon. * Women. *He sighs*

*The town was all in a tizzy. By now everyone had heard of the queen’s sudden arrival and the acceptance of the “mysterious” invitation. Griffin lets some of the cities papers and magazines fall into his mother’s lap.* This kind of media isn’t doing us any good. We should host an evening in your honor, to make it seem like your disappearance was planned. We’ll get everyone who’s anyone to come, and bribe all the media into sneaking in, when it will bend things in our favor anyways.

*Kaiori sighs and nods, when had her family turned into such a business council? She fidgets in her fine clothes, pulling at her white dress suit in hopeless attempts to get comfortable.* We could invite your father, make more of scandal out of him.

*Griffin nods his head.* A possibility, I’ll send him a formal invitation. We could invite some of the first sons of the leading corporations, make them think we’re going to arrange a marriage for Bell.

*Bell looks up from making coffee.* Hey, I refuse to be the decoy here! *She mutters angrily as she hands the caffeinated drink to her family.*

*Griffin raises an eyebrow, with a small smirk.* Don’t forget sister dear, we’ve yet to account for your disappearance as well. This could make a probable loop hole, a welcome harmless scandal that won’t show weakness to our company. Though we aren’t in much danger since the people were very impressed with my safe zones.

*Bell looks out a window down at the busy city lights below.* You should sing mom. At the next media event you should sing.

*Kaiori eyes cast a haunting glow.* I guess, I haven’t sung in a while now.

*Kaiori stands in front of her mirror, her hair down and flowing around her, his white satin nightgown hanging around her thighs. Disheveled and slightly drunk she looks at herself in the moonlight. Her clothes weren’t really her taste but this was what she was to wear. Clutching her fists and taking another shot of vodka she tries the song again.*

Paint the two of use on a canvas
In chains
Hang it on a wall
So the story will stay
So the colors will unveil the sky

I will remember
I will remember
These embers of love.
I will remember
I will remember
These embers of love.

* A maid knocks on the door as she steps in. Kaiori glares pulling her gun from her underwear. Realizing her mistake she yells out, embarrassed for acting like an animal.* Get out! Get out! *She chucks her vodka glass at the wall and it shatters as the maid closes the door once more. Kaiori crumples to the ground panting, furious with everything. Her fingers dig into the plush carpet around her. She feels so unsophisticated, when really she just can’t relax. She lets her eyes flutter closed for the moment.*

*Quickly enough this little get-together or meeting or whatever it was, was thrown together. Hell, no one cared what it was about really, everyone just wanted to dress up like peacocks and flirt with royalty. The main ball room of the tower was covered with white orchids, the symbol of the queen. Everything else was draped or dipped in white, leaving a shockingly beautiful effect. Kaiori is seated at the front of the room, surrounded by rich business men, either trying to sell off their business, an idea or themselves. Kaiori engages them all in conversation politely while wishing at the same time she could pull out a revolver and just…Bell is surrounded by the sons of every business man in town. She giggles now and again but never draws too far off from her brother. Griffin, well Griffin has a circle of girls around him but had made sure they all stayed at least a few meters away. The only people who dared approach the stoic young man were his business partners and his family. The lunch-in was slowly drawing to close; yet the guests seemed unwilling to leave. Kaiori glances at the chair set out for her “husband”, he hadn’t shown up. She felt like a fool for even setting out a seat for him. The media surrounds the royal family, they let them quote them on a few things and joke around with the press. Slowly people leave the room, all with newly formed loyalty to the crown. Griffin glances at his mother.* You didn’t sing, I thought you..

*Kaiori glances back up at him from her champagne glass.* I didn’t feel much like singing. *With that she stands and leaves. Her crystal gown glittering behind her, maybe she would go for a swim, yah that sounded nice. Maybe after another bottle of vodka?*

*Griffin glances at his sister who comes over to him, shrugging her shoulders. The only people left are a few servants clearing the ball room.* When did mom become…

*Bell sighs as she twirls a lone orchid in her fingers.* An alcoholic? *She tips her mother's champagne glass over with a finger.*

*Griffin sighs and nods. He stuffs his hands into his pockets and heads towards the elevator.* That too.

*A sad violin plays over her shower radio as kaiori cleans up after her swim. Stepping out of the shower she pulls on a strapless black dress and throws a towel over her dripping wet hair. Shutting off her radio the song music continues, but from a piano. She forgets to put on any footwear and the marble floor is cold to her touch. She approaches her son, his back to her as he plays the piano, beautifully, as always. She wraps her arms around him from behind, setting her chin on his shoulder.* My talented little boy. *She closes her eyes, she sighs in comfort. Noticing the stressed muscles in his shoulders she opens her eyes again.* You’re doing fine you know. You don’t have to beat your father at everything. *Her towel slips back to her shoulders as she mutters this to him.* You don’t have to be the dad, the son and the brother.

*Griffin lets his eyes close partly but keeps them locked to the piano keys. His hands never stray from his music as his mother speaks to him.* And you don’t need alcohol to numb everything. You don’t need him to love you.

*Kaiori stays there motionless, comforted by her sons presence and wisdom, yet all of it was unsettling. Shouldn’t she be the one comforting her son? Yet he seemed to have raised himself, just fine. She closes her eyes again, relaxing for the first time in days.*

*Unbeknownst to the melancholic couple, Bell had been listening in. She smiles and pulls herself away from the red oak door. Sometimes that’s how she felt in this family, like there would always be this door between them. She sighs, she wouldn’t never relate to her mother the way Griffin did, maybe it was because she was the only optimist in this family.*
PostPosted: Tue Feb 13, 2007 12:08 am

*Kaiori gets up from the piano bench. Her cell phone ringing from her hip strap under her dress. She moves away from her son and looks at the call display.*

*Griffin’s eyes become hard and angry, yet his playing reflects nothing.*

*Kaiori can tell Griffin is already angry, like he could see his father’s call display on her phone. There was no use in hiding it now, so she flips open her phone. She leans on the cool glass windows as her husbands voice resonates in her ear for the first time in months.*

"You sent me an invitation.”

“Hello to you too. Yes, I sent you an invitation.”

“Why?”

“Why not?”

“You don’t love me.”

“No, I don’t love you. Do you love me?”

“I never loved you…”

*click*

*Kaiori hangs up the phone and drops it carelessly, it smashes on the marble. She strolls back to her son, regaining her former comfortable position. She sighs into his ear and closes her eyes.* I need a new phone....

*Griffin nods and continues playing, not once had he stopped.* You don’t need that. *His eyes harden dangerously, almost saddened.*

*Kaiori smiles meekly.* I think I do, I just broke it again.

*Griffin actually looks down at his mother.* I mean that! Why do always let him call you! You can’t be that desperate mother! *He smashes his fists into the piano keys. As he growls with anger his fangs glow in the moonlight.*

*Kaiori glances at him, unaffected by his outburst. His fangs were just like his fathers. It was like a cancer, incurable, she had his children and now she was obsessed with him. Frowning she stands up coldly.* I’m not desperate, but you need more than me! *Her sadness bubbles up, her lips tremble and her fingers fist in her dress.*

*Griffin stands up unsure of his next move, finally he hugs his mother tightly.* Mom, it’s okay. Am I not a success? I can take care of everything now. *His eyes remain haunting, like the day his mother was brought to him frozen solid. Like the day she fought the kingdom so he and Bell could run away. All those times he had been helpless, would never occur again. Not now that he had money, not now that he had power.*

*Kaiori crumples against him, her thorny wall torn down by his words. She doesn’t cry but she shakes with her despair. Soon she passes out again, exhausted by merely talking. Griffin carries her to her bed room, he sets her in bed and walks away thinking when had she become so fragile?*

A lone figure wanders the streets in the city shadowed by the great tower Twice Royal. This figure, who moved about the streets with near total indifference to those about it, stood roughly six foot two, six foot three, with muscular shoulders that stretched at the fine black fabric of his suit cut and fitted just right to fit his form. This figure, with hair as gold as the watch adorning his wrist or with eyes as blue as the most precious blue sapphire, turned down one of the many roads about the city and started towards the Twice Royal. Exhaustion wore his eyes heavy, the near constant buzz of communcation rushing about his head forced a dull ache behind his eyes, and sleep threatened to take him, only he was stronger than that, his body required no sleep. So empowered with this self revalation this figure moved onward, pressing his way through the crowded streets and still ever closer to the tower.

A single gun was on this person's form, one in apparent visibility anyways, and lay safely tucked away to the chest harness beneith the rich fabric of his suit's coat. But this gun was no ordinary, oh no it wasn't! Haveing needed to be reenforced the structure must have weighed almost twice that of a normal handgun, for practicality sake handguns of this caliber were almost never created except for show or demonstrations, but packed more punch than a standard assault rifle fireing team. This gun, or product rather, bore the initials JH upon it's pistol grip, etched into the glossy metal.

One more block he turns, down the street with the tower in his sights, the figure - now described as a man - pauses barely a half heart beat. Sleep should have taken them, but likely the one in charge slept half as much as he himself did, as running and maintaining such a vast expanse of financial fortune must be physically draining. Perfect. And with that this figure started towards the tower, barely a block down the road from it already.

The man would go unnoticed for now. Many people held weapons around this town and even more of them were usually headed towards the Tower. People would be seen coming in and out of Twice Royal at all hours, mostly high classed entrepreneurs or those of good blood lines.

Sitting in the lobby of Twice Royal surrounded by trophy wives was not how Kaiori had imagined her day.

They all had bright flashy outfits and little dogs, she hated those things. Still she remained a courteous and elegant hostess. That’s how it was to be, she kept the wives in her good graces and the wives held the business men in the palms of their hands. The men were currently upstairs with Griffin, where she’d rather be, but Griffin was right, it would make him look weak to have his mother in the room.

Every couple of minutes it seemed like another air headed idiot would walk into the lobby and sit down with her. This circle of giggling pinks and yellows was giving her a headache.

An especially excited woman reached out and patted Kaiori’s thigh with sympathy. Kaiori recognized her as the newest wife of one of Griffin’s most loyal followers; her name was Bambi or something. The nitwit looked up at her with her makeup caked face and said “It must be so hard for you, without the King. You know I could teach you a few tricks that keep my husband wanting me.”

Kaiori stood abruptly, her champagne colored dress was so light that it swirled with the movement. A hush fell over the women, cigarettes dropping from their glossed lips. A couple dogs were whimpering since they were suddenly being clutched so hard by their owners. Kaiori bites out a smile,
“I’m not sure if my bedside manner is the best topic at the moment. Rather, would you ladies kindly aid me in picking out my outfit for this evening, I swear without your help I will be unable to attend.” She ends with a soft humorous laugh.

The ladies all burst into giggles and stand with her, heading to her personal chambers. No one noting the fact that kaiori’s hand on her hip was actually clutching a gun under her dress. She had dodged that bullet; hopefully this new wife would last about as long as the others.

Half interested in the gathering of the women, audio sensory systems boosted and localized so he could listen in on the little girly chat, the man smiled to himself. With a soft shake of his head he casually glanced at the retreating forms of the women, and blinked. That one, surrounded, kinked something in this man's memory, though he knew certainly he'd never seen the woman before in his existance. "Kiaori..." He mumbled under his breath. Kaiori Night, if he remembered correctly. She was...someone important, someone he was suppose to watch out for and speak to if possible. Well, she was right there! And he had to speak to her, though about what he wasn't certain. With a shrug of his shoulders this man , balls to the fricken walls, started after the departing swarm of women whom all had the single intent on their minds to strip Kaiori from her current garb and likely dress her up in the stupidest thing concievable. This man knew this, knew that this imporant woman he was about to meet was in the middle of something, but from the B-line path he took after the swarm it was obvious he really didn't care, either that or he didn't understand the ramifications of his actions.

Kaiori Night, and Griffin, he was sure those were the two he was suppose to find. Why he wasn't sure, although he did know he had a rather impressive gift to give to Griffin, and despite the clotheings he wore on his back only the gun in the holster was to give. So, figuring that, the man was to offer the gun? What was the significance of a gun, he wondered? Why exactly was he here and what was he doing before hand? He knew he was -

Blinking he shrugged his shoulders. This man, balls to the fricken walls, started after the departing swarm of women, with the single intent on speaking with Kaiori Night.

*Kaiori yawns into her hand softly as she continues on her path. Her lips brush her open palm, leaving traces of her lipstick. The women are bustling around her in a swarm of colours as they make their way to the elevator. Kaiori sighs, everything she wanted to do, or say, would be out of line. These women were annoying, but easy enough to manipulate with flattery. Her eyes lower to her shoes as she walks, considering Bambi’s words. She did not need the reminder of her husband’s dearth. She had to confess it was only the chase that turned her on, but it seemed shameful to admit it.*

The man, now close enough to actually see the individual strands of hair - that wasn't that impressive considering his eyes could essentially be turned into artillery scopes - raised his voice to be heard over the busteling women, "Night!" He said loudly, hopeing to draw Kaiori's attention. Now what was that one thing he knew about her, but wasn't exactly sure what? A quick diagnostic scan, her clothes parting away like mist before his scanners, and he immediately knew ******** b***h was crazier than Kah was! Tred lightly, be careful, cause she was more trigger happy than Tegral and Kah combined, and though the weapons she used were primative at best - even at that range a fifty caliber would do little more than stun him if he was shot int he head - he was certain there'd be many unhappy people after him were he to fail this task. "Mrs. Night." He corrected himself again, for some reason he called her Mrs. instead of simply Ms. Was she married, he wondered?
PostPosted: Thu Feb 15, 2007 12:28 am

*The women cluck like mother hens, whispering “oh my” as they part like the sea. Kaiori turns around, her eyes arctic and firm. With a look like that one might wonder if she could feel his eyes trailing to where they shouldn’t be. Her stance is powerful as her dress swirls then stills around her. Her hip tilts and her hand grabs the gun through the silk of her garment.* Yes? Excuse me, but I don’t think we’ve been introduced. *Her eyes hold firm, they hold a questioning glare. Why had he addressed her with such a familiarity at first?*

"My name." He paused, uh, s**t. Not good. Of course he had a name, everything that was everything had atleast something to be called by. He fidgeted, obviously uncomfortable, and scratched at the day old stubble prickling his firm jawline. A silver band wrapped around the longest finger on his right hand, the Roman numeral XXI etched into the surface. "Is of no relivance?" He tested the waters, knowing full well the idiocy he was sprouting forth, well, idiotic. Well with those 'introductions' out of the way, should they even be called that, he figured why not cut the formalities and get straight to the brass tact, whatever it was suppose to be. "Might I have a spare moment of your time, I understand you had plans later this eve and I'll try not to keep you too long."

Extending a leg out behind him he bent at the waist, his right arm sweeping about his middle as he bowed. More formal, and definately more in respect for a lady and moreso one of noble birthing. Though how he knew that, exactly, was uncertain. Man he had a headache.

The weapon she held gave him no worry, this man who refused to give a name he didn't know, after all his own drawtime on his weapon was approximately one point fourty one seconds, mechanically enhanced muscular structure was a thing to wonder at with a processor unit that rivaled the Admiral's own. Wait, which Admiral was this again? Oh no matters, he was going to talk with her royal higness Queen Kaiori Night. Did he feel gitty?
PostPosted: Thu Feb 15, 2007 1:10 am

*Kaiori raises an eyebrow at the odd character before her. She turns to her companions.* Please excuse me ladies. Feel free to pick out things during my absence. *With that the crowd is dismissed. They leave her and the stranger in the slightly dimmed and lonely hall. Kaiori turns on the man before her, grabbing him by the shirt she attempts to shove him into a near by wall.* You’re up to something! What do you want!

This nameless man flowed with Kaiori's manhandling, his back thumping loudly against the wall of her choice. Combat sensors suddenly bloomed to life, a grid falling over Kaiori's form with near precise cross hair locations where with just the right amount of pressure would result in a number of nasty things. Oh but she was just violent, no need for him to respond in kind. Mrs. Night grabbing on his shirt, the black dress coat worn over it hardly impeeding her actions as it only buttoned on the bottom, had a second effect that the good queen was likely to notice. The gun's holster shifted into view, the black leather against the creamy white standing out like a giant arrow in the sky. But if he cared that she knew he was armed, well she was armed too. Matched for a match.

"Forgive me for being so rude earlier." he said in a voice of the utmost respect. He knew this woman, or atleast knew of her, and something inside of him wanted to see her smile, again. "I've been away a long whiles and I was instructed to locate you. I understand you recently had a visit with a rather elderly looking fellow and atleast a dozen of his cronies?" A simple inquiry, anyone who knew anything about the royal family has probably already heard of their invitation to this strange gala amonst the stars and anyone probbing deep enough would likely find the messenger was armed with enough futuristic weapondry to level the tower.
