"Um... how fast can you run?" Malachai asked, following the girl.
Why does it matter? Thinking of picking hre up and sprinting the rest of the way?
"...It could be faster."

"I run as fast as my adrenaline permits." She stated simply watching the fire get closer. What happened to the hounds?
Hm...this might be a situation where I could help, but you'll be dead tired if not knocked out afterwards.
Then I don't need your help. The Sinful silenced immediatly. Tori was rather angry at him wasn't she?

"Erm... all right, " Malachai replied. "If you feel weary, just let me know and I'll see what I can do. For now, let's just keep moving, I suppose."
So much for being her hero, eh?
"Quiet."
Why? Because you know it's the truth? Although, I can see why you might want to regain her favor after what the other said to her... I can only imagine the details.

"Where are we running to Malachai?" She asked standing up. When had the branch gotten on her back?
That was me.
Oh. She dusted the back of her pants off and analyzed herself. She adjusted Malachai's shirt so the bread wouldn't fall out. she'd give it back to him once she got a bag. She coulda sworn she had one earlier.

"Away from the guards... I'm not exactly sure where, " Malachai replied.
The nearest town is too far. I would suggest somewhere mostly inaccessible to the heavy guards.
"Yeah... He says we should find a place that the guards can't get into with heavy armor."

Tori thought a moment, slowly bouncing up and down before a grin spread on her face. "I know where! Although...I haven't bothered to check its condition...is was a surprise it didn't break when we walked on it..."
Isn't something like that rather cliche?
Cliche or not its better than nothing.
That's farther away then the town, you need to think of something closer.
"Oh then keep your trap shut!" She exclaimed loudly before glancing at Malachai. "Not you, you can continue to talk you have my permission." She tried to think faster.
Do you need my-
"You're not allowed to talk." She growled thinking before yanking Malachai again and quickly dashing. She could only hope the place she had in mind was still open.

... Simply interesting. I thought your silence was to await some response... Apparently you weren't allowed to talk momentarily.
"Erm... right, " Malachai replied. "Just lead the way."
Something tells me you'll regret that... 'Tis no matter, though, I suppose.

The girl skid to a halt pointig a little ways below her to a rather narrow yet deep crack in the earth. "Its much wider inside. And I doubt them and they'll big ol armor can fit." She slowly crawled and peeked in. "The canned food is still in there too. They only way they can enter is if they exploded it. There's not a lot of shrubbery either so it won't catch flame easily. However." She sat down turning to look at Malachai. "It is cold, so you'll get your shirt back down there."
That's more dangerous then your other idea!
And how is it more dangerous?
Well lets see. Really sharp edges you need to manuver, its almost pitch black, rats possibly, maybe bats too. Bats have rabies.
"Got any other choices?' She asked toward her Sinful and Malachai.

"Eh, might as well, " Malachai replied.
Did I ever tell you about the night eye?
"Of course not, you never tell me anything in advance."
Bah. Focus the darkness into your eyes... It forces the pupils to open wider than they normall could and adapts your vision through other ways to near animal quality.
"And the side effect?"
If you try it in the daytime, you won't be able to see.
"Right."

Tori hadn't heard as she squeezed herself through some cracks before dissapearing within. Now where was something that could produce light? She triped over many objects she had stored before her head crashed with some rock. "Owie!" She yelped gritting her teeth and looking up. It would probably get brighter when day came. "Are you coming Mr. Malachai?" She called rubing her head tenderly. That had really hurt.

Closing his eyes, momentarily, Malachai willed the darkness to his eyes, as instructed. A layer of a glowing black substance covered both eyes as Malachai hopped into the hole.
"I told you... call me Malachai, " Malachai replied, landing beside the girl. "Are you al- hang on."
Concentrating for a moment, Malachai shot out at a large rat with the darkness, striking it immediately with a thin tendril.
"Right, as I was saying... Are you all right?"

"I hit my head against the rock." She complained taking her ponytail out. It was dark so it was alright. Tori placed it around her wrist and slowly began to crawl. She still wasn't able to see. The child stopped feeling her hands come across something leathery. "My bag?' She wondered hands slowly moving to trace the object. Yup, it was her bag. Tori emptied it and replaced it with the bread and ingredients, flapping Malachai's s**t to clean it of crumbs. "Mr Malachai?" She looked around. Her eyes were wide trying to absorb any light they could, biut finding none. "Malachai?" She asked again beginning to crawl hoping to find him.
Well aren't you a blind little bat yourself?
Shuddup. I can use my other- "Ow!" She removed her hand from the ground. "I think I cut myself." All she knew was that it stung terribly.

I'm right here, " Malachai replied. "Be careful! I can see down here... I would try to do the same thing with you that I've done with myself, but I don't want to take a chance of putting your eye out... Are you all right? Did you hit your head again?"
His vision was still adjusting to the darkness of the area. Slowly, the surroundings became more and more clear and Malchai could see more than the simple outlines of everything within the small area.

"No I cut myself I think. It really hurts." She groped around in the darkness and felt her fingers just barely brush Malachai's arm. She hopped forward a little bit and poked him. "Is this you?" She began to memorize his details as shelightly patted his upper body.
Getting a tad touchy feely aren't we?
I'm making sure its Malachai.
It is Malachai, child.
It could be a corpse.
Its warm, it still has a heartbeat, and it talks.
I can't see.
It chuckled. I really can't wait to see you as an adult.

"No, this isn't me, " Malachai said jokingly. "Now, " a slight ripping sound could be heard, "let me see your cut, please."
A homemade remedy that's so sucseptible to infecting the girl that it just screams "love". At least rinse it, first.
"Good point. Do we have any water I can wash this thing out with? It would be could to clean the cloth and the cut before we try to put it on."
