"I want it so much. More than I want hot sex in the shower. Seriously. If this guy right here", Daniel pointed at James. He was the most attractive guy in the vicinity, though Daniel hadn't really noticed before. "Suddenly said to me 'let's go get horizontal, right now in my car' I'd have to say 'No, thanks. I wish to enjoy a delicious, strawberry, kiwi, banana smoothie.' It's that serious." Daniel knew he was overdoing it and probably still riding the crazy high of his earlier episode, but he didn't care. He was having fun. Why was there anything wrong with that?

Mel couldn't help but laugh. she had to admit, Daniel was a pretty funny guy. "Wow, Daniel, that is amazing." She smiled at him. She never really hung out with Daniel that much, she got the feeling he often tried to avoid her.

Daniel looked over at Angie thoughtfully. She seemed a little grumpy. Probably something to do with whatever happened while she was chasing down that guy and ran into Melodee. Maybe he'd ask her about it later; calling her out on it in front of everybody else didn't make any sense. If she wanted to just chat about it she probably would.

Mel walked up to the counter with Angie. "Hey Angie, I can pay for all of you guys if you'd like, I mean... it's the least I could do-- I did invite myself to your get together..." She smiled at Angie with a hopeful look. "C'mon, please?"

I looked at the money in my hand, to my clothes, to Melodee's, clothes. "Ok." I said and smiled, "Thanks" hmmm.... maybe she won't be so bad after all...

James simply watched them, content with being in the background like he was used to, the song Changing to Topless by Breaking Benjamin. He simply sang the words under his breath. People used to tell him he had a great voice, but he was self concious, and so, not many people heard him sing.

Mary detached herself from Melody before they even started walking.. Following behind the Angie and Melody, she smiled as she heard talk of a smoothie. Reaching into her purse for her money, she looked up to see Angie handing her some. "Oh, no thanks, I have my own." She said, taking money from her own purse and looking up the menu. She decided on a Passionfriut & Pineapple blend. Then she heard Melody's offer, and like Angie, She put the money away.

I looked back at James and smiled, a true genuine smile. Somehow, even though he;s irritating as all hell, he calms me. Puts my mind at ease and oddly, makes me feel safer. Ha! I must be tripping.... I walked over and gently popped out one ear phone, "Please get a smoothie, It would make me happy."

James listened to her words and sighed. He walked up to the counter and said "A Strawberry banana Smoothie Please?" Slowly, he pulled out a twenty from his front pocket,waiting for them to take it. He couldn't let a girl pay for food. It went against his moral code.

Mel smiled at Angie. When she saw James come up to pay for his own, she took it off the counter and shoved it back into his pocket. "Nuh-uh-uh!" she said shaking her finger at him. She ordered a Mango Boba and gave a card to the cashier and made sure the cashier had all the smoothies on one tab. When she received her card back she put it back in her wallet, and her wallet back in her purse.
While they were waiting for their drinks she went back to the group. "Guys! I know we probably don't fit well together, but seriously, we shoudl totally be friends!" She smiled a sweet smile and a soft, light, barely noticable shrug came from her shoulders in glee.

Daniel didn't even try to stop Melodee from paying for his smoothie. Besides, he'd seen her bowl them over with generosity routine before. There was no changing her mind once she set her sights. He took his smoothie when it was ready and had a sip while Melodee proclaimed they should be friends. Actually, that they should 'totally' be friends. He snickers at her; he can't help himself. "C'mon, Melodee. You're not introducing yourself to the cheerleader squad; you don't have to throw around money and say 'let's be friends'. You're here, we're here; let's just hang out and see how it flies. That's how it works down here in the lower societal echelons." Daniel knew he was being a little overly critical, but he sometimes wondered if any of Melodee's friendships went deeper than her either paying for something or putting out. At least he wasn't hearing as much about the latter any more, though a few guys here and there still claimed they were getting a piece.

As James' hand was shoved back into his pocket, he resisted the urge to grow at Melodee. He couldn't help feeling the urge to fend for himself, he had been doing just ok before today. Grudgingly however, he took his smoothie, sipping it, being sure to savor what he could. He nodded with Daniels statement, money and kind words wouldn't buy him over. He'd heard from other bathroom bragging that several guys had already tapped her, and god only knew how many girls those guys had been inside.
