Attimasc was grinning as he listened and laughed out loud when she finished, "Shadow, du bist erstaunlich, you are amazing," then he sobered, casting his eyes down as he walked along, "That is how I think I was, before I was trapped like this," he waved his free arm at himself, "You're lucky, you get the choice of being what you are, or who you are,"

Attimasc sighed, "It is a long and mostly sad tale. It wouldn't be of interest to one such as you,. But, if you insist," and he sensed tat she did, so he paused to gather his thoughts, then began, "I was like you once, or so my memory tells me. A being of no form or body, merely a presence of the element. But one day, I heard a voice, speaking to me, with me in my element, instead of apart, as the rest of the universe was. Powerful magic is what it was, instilling my conciousness into a lifeless shell. When I realised what wass going to happen, I fought it, as hard as I could. Creating the most violent storms I could imagine, trying to break the caster's concentration. But it was too late." He paused for breath, reminiscing

Without meaning to, for her pill was beginning to wear off, Shadow reached out to Attimasc and dissolved. She then re-appeared around him, his head clasped in her hands. "Oh, you poor little thing. Shadow feels so bad for poor Attimasc." Shadow sat there for a moment then exhaled. Looking at herself, Shadow's white face turned pink. The next instant her form was gone in a puff of dark smoke, then she was back, sitting next to Attimasc again. "I understand. But you see, having a solid form is a curse for you...for me?...it is a blessing. I would surely go insane if I were to spend all my life trapped in the shadows. Though I do enjoy it, I also enjoy being able to touch things. I'm sure you have some sense of what I'm feeling..." Shadow stopped and turned to Attimasc. She grinned her evil grin, some of her old spunk coming back. "If you would ever like to see the terror of my homeland, I'd be glad to show you. Of course, you might come out changed. The last person I showed killed themself moments after I brought them back..." Looking around, Shadow clicked her tongue. "I'm thirsty. Lets go to Jesabell's."

"What? Oh, male or female...umm...male. Yeah, it was a guy. His name was...Frederic? Alphonse? Laurent? I have no idea...all I know is it was weird sounding. And he had a wicked accent. He thought he was in love with me and wanted to go back to the shadows with me. So I took him. Brought him back a few seconds later, but he basically went mad the moment he materialized. Pulled a pocket knife outta his pants and slit his own throat. It was interesting to watch...though I sorta lost it myself..." Shadow looked around, eyes wide, and grinned. "Anyway, if you wanna get good and drunk, we really should head down to Jesabell's. She's a nice girl, she is. Nice bar. Besides," Shadow said, coughing. "I do believe my throat is a bit dry." To herself, she thought, 'And I do hate to dry swallow...especially when it tastes like carrion and death.'

"yeah, lets go," Tanis said, turning in the direction of town, "but your going to have to show me where Jesabell's is, I've only been here for about a month."
besides, a cold beer sounds really good right now Tanis thought to himself

"Right-o! To Jesabell's!" Shadow boomed, her voice filling every part of the forest. Shadow put a hand over her mouth and pretended to blush, even though her 'body' was incapable of such an action. Making sure that her hands and arms were nice and solid, which resulted in her feet melting into the ground, she grabbed Tanis' and Attimasc's wrists and dragged them along as she skipped forward, though it was really more of a bobbing, floating action. Shadow thought about the simple action of her holding the wrists of these two boys. I'm not even real...this is simply amazing that I can even touch them. It is also horrifying. If some of my bretheren were to get ahold of my technology...I shudder at the thought. Even my voice is something about me that is an obvious sign. A sign that screams to everything 'SHE ISN'T EVEN REAL!' A voice that comes out of nowhere because it has no mouth to come from...ugh. I shudder when I think of what I am and want to retch when I think of what my brothers and sisters would be able to do if they could become solid. Shadow kept skipping, but her smile was gone, and her eyes were dark. Attimasc and Tanis and Dylan and even Kaminari are so lucky...they cannot see into the shadows... Shadow shuddered but covered it up by skipping a little higher. Unlike me...I'm the only one who can see what's really lurking in the shadows...and I'm one of those things...only I can touch what's real.

"I don't know names but yeah there's a lot of beer-" Shadow stopped abruptly as she felt Attimasc fall. Her arm broke off at the shoulder and disintegrated instantly. She quickly re-grew her arm, but Shadow was sure that they had seen. "Oh dear!" Shadow said a bit too loud, trying to cover up for her arm's temporary dissapearance. "You must watch where you step out here. Lots of stuff to trip on." Shadow, having already released Tanis' wrist, concentrated on picking Attimasc up. Luckily she had enough strength to help him to his feet. "Anyway, as I was saying. Jesabell does her best to keep her bar well stocked. I'm sure she'll have whatever you're looking for. Whether it be beer or fine liquer or something else. She's a master at mixing drinks, and the beauty of her art is only the customer knows whats really in it..."
