He shook his head. "I didn't want a report Anna. I was asking what makes you tick. What was your past like. You know, the things that make you, you." He sighed as he picked another bite from his meal. "I'm not gonna run away. I've never been too good at it, and I'm not going to start anytime soon." He looked at her, and smiled. "You invited me out, and I plan on making the most of it."

"Oh, you know," she said as she gave a fake smile and laughed nervously, "Just the boring ol' normal life of a boring ol' normal assistant. Doesn't take much 'life before' to be one. Boy, it's cold in here," she said quickly, trying to change the subject. "Maybe we should leave."

He hung his head. "Sure..." He picked up his cup of tea, finishing it off before putting it back on the table. "You know, I'm not going to judge or change how I act. I know how much it hurts when someone does that." He whispered as he stood, placing more than enough to cover both the meals, and a decent tip on the table. "Anywhere you wanted to go, or are we calling it a night here?" He asked as he offered a hand to help her up.

"I know you won't," she whispered silently, almost to herself. She took his offer to help her up. "That was the plan, but if you can think of something, I don't have anything else to do this evening."

He smiled, "Well, you did mention dessert before we got here." He led the way towards the door, carefully avoiding everyone else in the restaurant. "Too damn crowded..." He held the door open for her.

"Got any good places in mind?" She asked. "Thank you." As she stepped outside she looked up at the dark and clouded sky and smiled. "Finally! It stopped raining! It hate the rain. So wet, and cold."

He smirked. "I don't normally eat in the city, so not really." He moved a little closer to her. "And I know what you mean....that's why I learned this nice little trick..." He closed his eyes, concentrating. "The trick is to cast a fire spell only about a fourth of the way. Nice and warm without any burns." He was radiating the warmth. "So, as for dessert, anywhere you want to go is fine with me." He smiled at her.

"Nice trick," She said, also moving closer to him. She closed her eyes and smiled contently as she let his heat warm her up. She opened her eyes and looked up at him. "You like cake?"

He kept smiling."Thanks, it really is a life saver when you're sleeping in a cold damp cave." He nodded "Yeah, know a good spot then?"

"Yeah, and it's quiet too." She smiled. "Follow me." She started walking away from the glitz and laughter of the restaurant behind her. Soon, the glitz and laughter of the city also started to fade. They were soon in poorly lit streets with buildings and houses completely dark. Anna walked to a store that hardly had any lights on inside and a fewer amount of people. When she walked in, the chubby man behind the counter looked up and bellowed, "Anna! Hey, where ya been?"
"You know, Harold, doing stuff for Merlin."
"Still working for him, huh? You know you can really do better. Who's your friend?"

"Did you see the weather today?" Anna asked. "Cake, two slices, please."
"Right, Anna." Harold said and left to get the cake out of the kitchen.
"So what do you think?" Anna asked Hotaru.

He was still looking around till Anna asked him. "It's really nice. Kind of a homey feel to it......cozy is the word." He was smiling. "So I guess you know Harold pretty well....guess you like coming here a lot too."

"Almost everyday, a long time ago. Me and Harold go way back, I knew him before I even started to work for Merlin. Boy, that seems like forever, but then again, I just knew Harold a few days before meeting Merlin and taking up the job as his assistance," Anna said.

He nodded. "So why did you start working for Merlin? I'm sure you could get any job you really wanted. You just have a thing for magicians or something?" He teased.
