"Yep... Every Hunter I know who's afflicted would prefer not to be, but it's not really a choice..." Ghoul said quietly, "We slip up once and we are afflicted... it's our main danger..."

(Yes, that is quite odd...)

Luna smiled gently, looking down at her hand. "Yes, Most of us regret ourselves..." She didnt mention that she had no choice in the matter of what she was, unless you counted Dead as another choice. She glanced at the Jury seating. "Looks just about full, we should start soon..." She glanced once more down at the girl who the hearing was for, if only she knew how many votes would be in her favor but not cast because of her, but because of others.

Edward looked around the room, "Alright! The seats are now filled! Everyone please be silent as we review the case and file of Hunter Kirra."

Luna, who was about to say something, closed her mouth and crossed one leg ver the other, getting comfortable, before placing her hands in her lap and watching, and listening. These files could go on for droves once in a while, the reason she almost never went to these trials, but for this instance she would.

((Sorry for not being able to post for a while))
Reaching the bottom of the ridge, Elise noticed the drop in temperature. Even in her several layers of clothing, topped off with an ermine coat and a sealskin one, she was cold. The sickly sweet smell of blood and decaying flesh were becoming stronger by the minute. It made Elise nervous and she carefully took out her bell for safe measure. After another hour of walking, the wind started to pick up the freezing air seeping through her clothes and, spraying snow into her face.
Great, I was cold, hungry and miserable when I went down the ridge. Now I'm cold, hungry, miserable and wet from this storm.
She was close to the river, but the snowstorm's wind had become too strong for traveling to progress. Slumping behind a tree, Elise wanted to go on but it would be impossible.
The storm had also proven another danger - now the dead could creep up upon her without Elise being notified by their smell. Deciding not to give her position away, Elise didn't dare summon any magic, tangible to the dead, to keep herself warm. Chewing on a tough piece of dried meat, Elise decided to wait out the storm.

((Bump))

Edward started, reading from his podium, "Our Veteran-Rank Hunter, Kirra, who has served the Organization for several years, has become afflicted with Lycanthropy. As you know, this leads to a trial to determine her fate. As a Veteran, Kirra has proven herself many times as a capable and loyal member. As a lycanthrope, she has been determines as a Greater Werewolf."

This news caused a bit of a stir in the Hunters in the seats. Armory and Ghoul seemed unsurprised.

"As you know, curing of a greater werewolf with silver is akin to a lobotomy." Moreau explained, "as such, Kirra will be subjected to a painful transformation into a werewolf form under her control."

Edward stood up, "We will now take arguments towards keeping her in service or disposal."

A hunter across the room stood up, his face hidden by his wide-brimmed hat, "A werewolf is a danger to everyone! They should all be destroyed! if she's injured, her blood could give us the disease!"

"Stupid youngster!" Ghoul hissed before standing up himself, "As a proven member of the Organization, this Hunter deserves our support! True, she is infected, but before that she was a member of this organization, which she will remain, even after death! I find, from experience, that the best tracker of a werewolf is another werewolf, just as the best hunter for a vampire is another vampire! She is in full control, and she is loyal. By being infected, she no longer has to fear vampirism, and she's immune to the bites of werewolves."

Another Hunter stood up next to the first, "Easy for you to support her, Ghoul, what exactly are you?! You aren't a vamp, and you're not a wolf."

Edward shook his head, "This is about Kirra, not Ghoul. Sit down and shut up if it isn't about the person in the chair!"

Ghoul let out a small laugh as the other Hunter reluctantly sat down.

Luna watched as Ghoul defended the girl in the seat below and smiled as the other hunter was forced to sit for his talk, it was like giving a child a time out. She stood up without reluctance, ready to say her peice. "Ghoul has said that the best trackers of werewolves are other Lycanthropes. I find this a truth. Who do we send in when we are invading a space filled to the brim with a werewolf pack? Do we send the members that smell different, act different, or overall are humans? No, we send those members who are of that form, from the inside we can find weaknesses, and with weakesses we find our way in. Kirra may be of more help to us now in the organization than she ever was before she was infected. I know her to be a able Hunter and now that she has sharpened senses she will be better." Luna sat down daintily, her voice quieted, and her thirst for justice satisfied, she began thinking, hadn't she fought with this girl once? It was hard to remember, with so many fights many slipped through the cracks.

At some point, Elise had fallen asleep as the storm raged on. As she woke up, she tried opening her eyes but she couldn't, it was as if someone had glued her eyelids together. Elise panicked then remembered then logically reasoned out what happened.
Alright, I had closed my eyes, so the cold must have frozen my eyelashes together.
She put her hands at her eyes, warming them with the mittens. After a few minutes, her eyes fluttered open. The snowstorm had ceased and it was mid-afternoon. Elise picked herself up, brushing the snow off herself and her suitcase. After so many delays, Elise decided to pick up the pace, she was near the river and was eager to cross it. She didn't want to delay herself even more by fighting the dead.
Reaching the river, she thanked her lucky stars, it was frozen over. She had feared that she would have to swim across, in the freezing cold waters. She still had to be wary, the ice was covered in snow, and she wouldn't be able to find any dark spots within the ice. Elise pushed her suitcase in front of her as a safety measure, and slowly walked across the river. The crossing itself was uneventful, and she had safely reached the other side. Now the next step was to follow the river downstream, and reach the Iceblade Sea.
She brushed off some snow, off the ice, and saw which way the river flowed, and followed it.

(Not sure where to proceed... I know! Random village attacked by vampires! That will happen... after this happens.)
PostPosted: Wed Dec 31, 2008 5:27 am

((Okay, LOLz, or a vampire rebellion?))
Dawn was breaking, when Elise reached the Iceblade Sea. She was awestruck by what she saw, Elise had never been to the sea and was amazed by its vastness. The foul smell had disappeared when she left the valley, but a new worry dawned upon her, how long had she been wandering around? After being attacked by the werewolves, she had lost count of the days.
I either have a day or two left, gotta hurry. Alright, I probably don't have that far to go, find a "burnt grove" then from the map, follow the sea, then cross the Blackscar Canyon. I hope the organization has built a bridge across the canyon, I really am not in the state to scale steep slopes.
She was somewhat delirious, and took a random direction, hoping it was the right way.
I'll be alright, when I reach Castle Obsidian, I'm going to make sure I get a proper bath. I probably reek just as badly as the resurrected dead.
