((WAAAAANANANANAAAA.. NANANA. NAAAA.))
Cain shot his sister one of his famous looks, but making any sort of face at Lilith was sort of like making a face at a brick wall; there wasn't much of a response. "Saul's been good as golden up until now, you keep your trap shut, alright?!" But he knew she was right and Saul would pay for it. "You NEED to stop following me." He added before they were gone.
Saul stood torn in front of Abel. His basic instinct was to run away and keep running until he could hardly breathe, but the idea of Talen getting caught held him back. Abel relieved him of that worry. Grasping Abel's shoulder briefly he tore down the road like a boy who has been running all his life, and that was the greatest truth to Saul. He was over a fence and gone in an instant.
Talen, when he fell, cracked his forehead hard on the corner of the kitchen counter. Even in his dazed state when he landed on the floor he could feel blood running down his face and into his left eye. He felt himself trying to move, lights going off in his head and blurring his surroundings and blood kept running down his face and into his mouth, down the collar of his shirt.
"s**t." He slurred, wiping at the floor with his sleeves.
And then Abel was there so suddenly he was sure it was just the head injury making things up. However, Abel was a very real hallucination. He drug him up by his arms and he steadied himself, a hand to his bleeding head.
The rest was really a blur. He remembered his legs taking over and he ran for all that he was worth, which he was sure wasn't very much. Far away from the crime scene he could still hear the sirens of the cop car, the flashing lights, the single flashlight moving about the house in search of the culprit.
Talen exhaled heavily and slowly slid down the length of a tree trunk into a sit. Abel was crouched and talking about all his goodness. Talen half smiled, but didn't find anything particularly funny. His mouth was dry, his heart was beating so hard he could feel it in his feet and fingers, and he was burning with shame.
He wiped at his forehead which was steadily beginning to clot. "s**t... s**t." He said and shook his head. "s**t. Abel... s**t!" He shouted and was up on his feet, full with a sudden rage. He was baring his teeth, he felt his hackles up along his back. "You should have never... God DAMN IT, Abel, I told you to get your a** HOME!" He said glaring through the dark. His eyes were jet black with rage, but then he seemed burned out, he stumbled back and put his face in his hands.
"Shiiiit." Talen said again and felt a sadness too deep to cry. He bit his lips hard and hated himself more than he hated anything in his life. "Let's go home." He said listlessly. "You shouldn't be out."
((hahaha, wow. Character development. WOW. ))

((ANGST lols. Can't get enough.
OH MY GOODNESS. I made the most beautiful fruit tart in the world! Haha I was so proud of myself. I have to wait till tomorrow to eat it though...cause I made it for a party...))
Abel rubbed at his head as he started to feel the nerves shrink, replaced with frustration and worry. He had no idea what was going on, he only knew he had to get Talen out of there, and that's what he did. From that point he just knew what would have happened if he wasn't there to get Talen out. First of all, the boy would still be on the floor bleeding, secondly he would have gotten into major trouble with the law.
When Talen stood up and started shouting, Abel look up at him with a strange expression, not one of startle or fear, but strangely one of anger, an expression that hadn't been on his face for quite a long time. He let Talehn yell and shout, let him glare and bare his teeth. Abel simply looked at him, waiting for the boy to stop.
When he did stop, Abel got up and put his hands on Talen's shoulders, forcing him back down to the ground. "No. You just wait a second. You sit here and wait." His voice was strict as he spoke, sounding more mature and more strong than ever. "And don't say the Lord's name in vain." His eyes were glowing brightly as he took off his scarf and pushed back some of Talen's hair. "Just hold still." He rubbed some of the blood off of Talen's face.
After he cleaned the wound, Abel skillfully wound the scarf around Talen's head, tightening it against the gash and tying it off. "There." He let go of Talen's face and sat back, face broken in a way that wasn't suited for an angel, his eyes full of emotions that weren't happiness. "You could have died." He said simply and ran a hand through his curly blonde hair.
"Can you give me Alice's number?" He asked patiently, taking out his cell phone. He had no idea what he was doing, but he was doing it. It was as if his mind was growing new thoughts as the seconds went by. Instinct was become actual actions. "Maybe she can find us and pick us up. Because I won't let you walk anywhere. I won't let you."
((Awww such a little trooper. Hahaha.))

((... Hhahaha, he's not going to take that well. AND FROOT TARTS. NO. EFFING WAY.
If I like fruits in tarts I'd be more excited... but eeeew fruit.
On another note: My thumbnail keeps flipping up and bleeding everywhere! IT'S VERY UNCOOL.))
When Talen was pushed into a sit he was surprised into doing so, and then told sternly to stay. He watched as Abel took his scarf from his neck and wiped at his face and made the motions to tie it around his neck. Talen was on his feet in an instant. He tore the scarf from his head. He threw it to the ********. You." He said firmly. "What? You going to tell Alice? Huh? Is that it? Try to get my turned around? Poor Talen, he's some confused angst ridden teenager. Yeah! ******** THAT. There's no 'fixing' me. I KNOW what I'm doing, what I DID. If you knew HALF the story maybe I wouldn't be so PISSED at you right now! You're not my brother, my mother, or even RELATED TO ME. Don't SCREW with me.
"I've been taking care of myself for this long, I don't need you to push your 'god fearing ways' onto me. ********. YOU." He said again and started to walk away. "And what the HELL god's name in vain? I don't even know the bastards real name. I don't think I want to." And he kept on walking.
((hahahaha, he did not WANT.))

((Haha well I can't try it yet...so we'll see if it even tastes good. But it's a WHITE CHOCOLATE fruit tart...so it BETTER taste goods!
And ew...flippy nail.))
Abel's eyes widened a bit when Talen stood up, throwing the scarf to the ground. His eyes followed the scarf, feeling torn. Only some of Talen's words stuck in his head as he looked at the blood stained scarf. He had no idea what he was doing at that point. Talen was right...they hardly knew each other and here he was trying to 'save' him. What right did he have? The only reason Abel thought he was here to protect Talen was the simple fact he was the first person he met.
Abel felt anger swell in his gut as he clenched his teeth, swallowing down whatever pain he felt from being yelled at. It wasn't like he wasn't used to people yelling at him. He quietly stood up, picking his scarf with him. There was nothing he felt he could at that point. He had just saved Talen's life and yet not a single notice of it. Abel didn't want to be thanked at all, but perhaps get some sort of recognition.
If Talen wasn't the reason he was here...he had to find the reason. Talen was obviously reluctant, and Abel constantly felt in the way. There was nothing he could do. He felt horrible for leaving Alice alone and not doing what she wanted him to, he felt utterly horrible.
"Hang on." Abel said and quickly moved to block Talen. "I'm not going to stop you. But at least take this, it has your blood on it. I just hope you'll realize the course of your actions are not doing any good to you or Alice. And...and I hope that if you realize this soon, you'll find me or call for me. I won't give up on you if you open yourself to my help. I'm sorry I got in the way so much." He placed the scarf in Talen's hands and smile weakly to him.
"Thanks for everything...I'm glad I met you. Please keep you and your sister safe." Nodding he turned and walked away, head tilted upwards to look at the sky, whispering something to himself as he moved.
((Ah still doesn't feel rigght....but better than before.))

((ALRIGHT, LET'S DO THIS THINGGG!!!))
When Abel stepped in his way to stop him Talen stood in a way that suggested he'd move him bodily if he had to. He'd been in enough fights to break someone as slight and almost delicate as Abel in half. He ate guy's like him for breakfast, and he was going to tell him so, but instead he placed his scarf in one of Talen's clenched fists. He felt himself loosen up, his fists dropping to his sides. The scarf was held numbly in his fingers.
He watched Abel carefully, cautiously. He took his words in stride, unfeeling. He had accepted his fate awhile ago and Abel's words did not sway him, but it didn't make him ache any less. He HAD to do what he was doing, he HAD to. He told that to himself every time he climbed through a stranger's window, every time he was creeping through a stranger's house, through their bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, every time he felt like telling Cain to ******** off.
He needed to do this.
When Abel moved passed him and began to walk away, Talen turned back to him slowly. "I'd never let anything happen to Alice." He said seriously, earnestly, and he meant it. "That's why... that's why you can't leave without saying goodbye." Talen finished and wiped at his face. "Just at least say goodbye to her before you go."

Abel stopped and turned around when Talen spoke up. His eyes studied Talen. Abel stood still and he looked to the distance, watching as some wind picked up a few leaves and tossed them into the air. His breathing was steady as his mind reeled. He knew it was wrong to leave Alice, she wasn't the one who was closed up to any help, she was the one who had come to Abel openly and expressed her feelings. It felt wrong to say nothing to her.
"Talen." Abel said, his voice strangely deeper and more mature. "I'm not leaving. Leaving is such a definite term. I'm letting you have some time to come to your own conclusions. I even told Alice, that if she ever needed me, even when I wasn't there with her, she could call for me and I'd come in a second. I don't lie, I'm not leaving her." His glowing eyes looked back to Talen. "I'm not leaving you either." He paused and sighed, trying to think.
"What do you want me to do, Talen?" He asked simply, putting his hands into his pockets, watching the other boy quietly. "I'm not here just to stand around idly and do nothing when I see someone in trouble. That's what you seem to want me to do. If that's the case, I need to go and find the people that need but also want my help. So what do you want me to do?" His voice was calm, patient, and caring, like a mother talking to their child throwing a temper tantrum. His face wasn't cold or distant as he spoke either, it was full of the same care and patience in his voice.

((hmmmm.... *types whatever comes to mind first. YAY!))
Talen half scowled. "Don't give me that angelic bullshit. I may not want your help, but I meant it when I said you were my friend. That's all I want you to do, be my friend. Not my guardian angel because I didn't need one then and I sure don't need one now... but I wouldn't mind having a friend." He finished. "You know... keep me out of too much trouble. Like... dragging my bleeding a** out of potential jail time."
"And Alice she... I need you to be here for her... she..." He started, but would never finish, not now. There was that look that crossed his face; an old wound. He ran a hand through his hair. "I'm sorry I am the way I am, alright? But as my friend you're just going to have to take me how I am, won't you?" And he tried to smile, but his head hurt.
"Plus where in blue blazes are you going to find another dumbshit like me to take someone as overly helpful as you in? Seriously. You're overbearing." And this time he did smile. "But whatever... leave, don't leave...," He put "leave" in air quotes much like Lilith, "I'll let Alice know she can get in contact with you... what... 1-800-HELP-ME-PLEASE?" Talen shook his head, smiling oddly.
"And you NEVER got in my way, Abel." And left it at that. "Should we hug? Shake hands? What?"
((hahaha, oh you silly billy.))

Abel listened quietly to Talen. The words he said were the same he had been hearing the past ten minutes. There was part of him that wanted to leave and forget everything. He put a hand to his forehead and lowered it, rubbing his temples as he tried to think. Too much was going on inside his brain that he winced and looked back up, watching Talen talk.
"I didn't say we couldn't be friends. I figured we already were..." He said quietly, smiling a bit and shrugging. "And it's not who you are that makes me...frustrated...it's what you're doing to yourself. Even if I were...normal..." He made a face at the word. "Even then, I'd be how I am. I...as a friend I'm still going to attempt to help you."
When asked what they were supposed to do Abel walked up to him and took the scarf from his hands. "None of that, but what you will do, is let me at least stop your bleeding, it's disgusting." He muttered and immediately took to wrapping the cloth around Talen's head. "No throwing that to the ground again in some fit of rage. I won't have it." He tied it off and put his hands to his hips. "Let's get you home before you pass out...or before I pass out. I'm really exhausted...all of this thinking is hurting my brain."

((POSTIESSS.. Lolooololololl.))
Talen grinned broadly at Abel as he once again tied off his forehead with his scarf. "I'm sorry you find me so difficult, friend." He said with a laugh, and touched the scarf on his head lightly. "And alright.. frankly, if you pass out, I'm not going to want to carry your skinny a** home, Abel." He joked, but before he moved on he slid an arm around the angel's shoulders and shook him gently.
"You're ridiculous." Was his affectionate remark. "But I'll keep you."
And together they made their way home. Talen did his best to sneak in without making any noise. It was late, and by late, it was early... He didn't really want to deal with Alice's wrath right now, especially with his head already pounding. He eased open the front door silently as a thief, and motioned for Abel to follow, a finger to his lips, but any attempts to make it in without being noticed were in vain. Alice was sitting by the front door, smoldering eyes on Talen.
"Where. Have. You. BEEN." She said in a tired voice, grinding out each word with a shake of a fist.
Talen stood still like a deer caught in the headlights.
"WHERE. HAVE. YOU. BEEN." She said more firmly. Tears were in her eyes.
Talen moved through the door and knelt beside his sister. Wordlessly he hugged her, chin resting on-top of her head. "I'm okay." He said quietly.
"What about ABEL? What did you do with him?! You- you." And she fell silent, as she vanished into Talen's shirt sleeve. She was undone with her brother's affection.
Talen just sat and let her finish.
"I should... Talen!" She said, pulling from his shirt. "You're all I've got... what did you do to your head?!"
"Aw Alice... not now. Tomorrow. Please, let's talk about this tomorrow."
Alice bit her lips and touched Abel's blood stained scarf. "First thing. You TALK to me about this. I mean it!" She hit him lightly and then hugged him briefly.
"I'm alright." He said again.
Alice stood up from his arms. "You WON'T be alright when I'm done with you." She promised and moved to the door to see Abel. "I need to trade you for my brother. YOU don't come home with head injuries." She said wetly, wiping at her botchy face.
"You don't MEAN that." Talen said smiling.
"You get yourself to BED." She commanded. "And take some advil for that."

Abel laughed gently and shook his head. "Thanks." He replied with a little smirk and followed Talen back home.
When they got to the house, Abel had a feeling Alice was going to be waiting for them, but he didn't say anything to Talen.
Once they got in, Abel closed the door and watched Talen and Alice exchange words. He gave Alice a slight smile and began to take off his dirtied shoes. He dropped them by the door and ran his fingers through his hair. It felt good to be at Talen's house. To Abel it felt like a sanctuary, nothing bad could happen here, nothing bad could happen without Abel knowing anyways.
"You have school in the morning, don't you?" Abel asked Talen curiously. He turned his blue eyes to Alice. After a moment he pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to her. It was pure white with intricate gold thread lining the outside. In the center there were two initials, J C and L C. He carefully rubbed some of Alice's tears away with it and then handed it to her. "I'm sorry we kept you waiting for so long. But it's okay now, because we here, mostly in one piece." He smiled and started to walk to the kitchen.
"When you're done, I want to show you something, Alice." He looked over his shoulder with a wide smile before disappearing into the kitchen.

((UH OH. SNEAKY SNEAKY... POST POST.))
Talen shrugged off Abel's remark. "Yeah. I guess that's true."
Alice gave him a look and pointed him down the hall. "Go."
Talen gave her a salute and tread his way gently up the stairs to take care of his head and sleep.
Alice waved Abel away a little as he wiped at her face. "I'm fine, I'm fine." She said laughing mostly at herself. "I just... he..." She shook her head and took the handkerchief gratefully into her fingers to dab at her eyes. "Thank you." She finished.
"And don't you apologize. I want to hear it fro TALEN at least TEN times tomorrow." She said and then raised an eyebrow after Abel as he made his way into the kitchen. After dabbing at her eyes some more and taking several deep breaths she got herself under control. Glancing out the open door and letting the air cool her, she shut it and followed Abel into the kitchen.
"What's up?" She sniffed.

((Sorry for not posting...for two days. Those two days were SO busy. I had to go over to my friends place in the morning on Monday to help them set up for our dinner/secret Santa party and I had to cook stuff and then the rest of the day was spent picking people up and driving people home and the party of course. Then I ended up spending the night, and then the next day I took two of them Christmas shopping...
SO YEAH. All day shopping at malls...fun stuff...for OTHER people. :< ))
Abel turned around with a smile and set his silver bag onto the counter top. "Well I finally found this bag I was looking for. My friend gave it to me before I came here. He told me there were things in here that would help me. One of the things I wasn't sure how it would help ME."
He carefully pulled out a beautiful journal. It looked like pure gold on the cover, raised and beveled at parts to create a curving, intricate design all around the edges and center. He set it down and then took out a matching pen. "I want you to have this and to use it." He handed it to her with a smile. "I just feel like you'd be able to put this things to good use. Write whatever you want in here, anything you want. This is for yourself, and if you want anyone else to see, it's yours to show, but if you don't, than it's yours to keep private."
After a minute he put a hand into his pocket and pulled out a silver necklace. A single, simple cross hung from the thin chain. "I also found this while I was walking today. When I saw it, I thought you might like it. It was at a store, but when I asked about it...they just gave it to me." He seemed bewildered at the thought and shook his head. "Not sure why, but I figured if they just gave it to me, it must really be destined to be in your hands." Carefully, he unclasped the hooks and motioned for her to turn around. "I can put it on for you."
((Awwwww. How sweet. Haha. Time to go Christmas Shopping again...this time with my pops.))

"That's great!" Alice said of his friend. "I sure hope he wasn't really mad at you for losing it." She joked, but then blinked as he extracted the golden journal from his bag.
"But... But I couldn't." She said suddenly. She couldn't even bring herself to touch it. "It's YOURS. It was in your bag, Abel... obviously that must mean it's meant for you." She looked between him and the journal. "It must be for something important, I'm sure."
When he brought out the cross she put a hand to her collar bone thoughtfully. She was slightly pink at the offer to put it on for her. Smiling she reached around her own neck to unclasp a chain she was already wearing. Slowly she removed it and pulled it from her shirt collar. On the delicate chain was a Star of David.
"Only if we can trade?" Alice asked of him, smiling softly.

Abel shook his head. "No, you can have it. I WANT you to have it. I really think it was meant for someone besides me, and I feel that it's for you. My instincts are usually correct." He gave her a grin and watched her looked at the cross.
As she pulled out her own necklace he looked at it in a surprised manner. For a moment he felt guilty of assuming she'd take it right away. He had forgotten how many religions there were away from heaven. There was also no reason for him to force any other religion on someone. He knew no matter what anyone believed, there was heaven for the people who had a good heart, whether they were Atheist or Catholic.
Smiling, he gave a nod to her. "Of course. I'll make sure to keep it safe." He assured her, and would of course. "Thanks again. I know I get annoying saying it, but thank you for all you have done for me. Not even these gifts could ever show my appreciation for your kindness." He said kindly and held his hand on to take the other necklace.
"You want me to put it on..." He paused and looked to her. "Or do you want to?"

Alice just shook her head and rolled her eyes. "You won't get on my nerves, Abel." She assured him and then laughed. "And don't make that face! You didn't offend me, I PROMISE. Here... I'll even take the journal to prove it... since... you seem to think it's better off in my hands." She passed the necklace off into his hands and turned for him.
"You can put it on." She invited.
