Sauda glanced over at Aruka and smiled, nodded her head and took in the scene around her. "Sure is nice to have friends," she said and smiled to everyone.
Marlo and Tyr arose from their spot on the ground and stretched. "So now what? I have no need for money, but I'm sure the King will reward us greatly if we bring proof of our deed. Don't we have to anyways?"

Aruka looked down at the body of the witch, then she noticed something was wrong, "What-!" Aruka knelt by the witch's body and her hands hovered over her body, Aruka's hands convulsed uncontrolably as the witch's skin began to blacken and curl up like paper set on fire, but there was no fire. The witch's eyes blackened then rolled from their sockets, "She's put some sort of decaying spell on herself!" Aruka looked up helplessely as the witch's body started to shrivel, her teeth rotten over a time period of seconds and her hair began to grow, then maggots were upon her in seconds. Aruka noticed the mark on the witch's body, between her breasts, "Does anyone know how to break this spell!?" Aruka looked up and around at everyone.

"Naeí Isíla!!" Chälan commanded. Water drained out of Chälan's overflowing reserves, pouring out of his outstretched hand and turning whatever it touched to Ice. Aruka barely got out of the way in time. In seconds the witch was frozen solid beneath the freezing wave. The grass and leaves around the decaying body became as solid as if they had been turned to stone.
The nymph had reacted not a moment too soon. He couldn't be certain he'd defeated the witch's spell, but the effects of it had been stopped. Encased in ice, the witch's body would not decay any further.
Chälan was just thankful Aruka had dodged quickly enough. The nymph hadn't had time to voice a proper, more complicated spell, and it might have been difficult to avoid hitting at least part of her with the icy blast.

Aruka swallowed then Burr commented dryly, "Same old witch, that woman was very hard to predict, even to her closest...'friends'" Burr stood up and helped Aruka to, Aruka looked around, then down at the witch's half decayed body. Kyuuki whimpered and put his head under Aruka's hand, "Cian we geo no?" Kyuuki growled, his nervous shaking obvious to his current mood. "Yes, Kyuuki, we can go now, but..." Aruka glanced at the group, "I must know if we may travel with this large troop, I do not want to intrude, not at all..."

"We are going backh to see the khing," said Chälan. "You schould chome with us; I thinkh you'll want to be there when he sees the witsch's remains. Besides, he might want to know in ghreater detail what the witsch was up' to."
((I guess Osaya can skip us to the palace--wherever that is--whenever she thinks we're ready? smile ))

"I would be glad to," Aruka smiled, "Let us go, Kyuuki, but..." Aruka turned to Burr, "would you come along, Burr?" Aruka asked hopefully. Burr watched Aruka, frowned, then looked at everyone else, "Well, I suppose it would not hurt to go..."

"Great!" Tania chimed in, "Back to the king! Onward to gold!" She pumped her fist in the air triumphantly. "Oh!" Realization dawned in her feline eyes and she quickly lowered her arm, adding hastily, "But I'm not carrying that witch's hideous body, just so you know. We Neko may be strong, but we most certainly do not haul around disgusting, decaying, stinking witch bodies." She sniffed with an air of disdain as her eyes darted about for an alternative. Like a radar, her penetrating gaze soon landed on the two dwarves. She jabbed a decisive finger in their direction, "They're strong--I nominate the dwarves!"

"There is no need to haul a body my new friends. I can teleport all of us there, to the King's palace with no problem. It will take a few moments of concentration though," Marlo said and smiled to the group, closed his eyes, pulled a feather from his belt and began the incantation.
Tyr remained watchful for enemies around them, his muscles taut and he was ready to spring. Within moments, they were standing in the Grand Hall of the King's Palace...
Sauda distrusted magic as much as she trusted her daggers, which was a lot. She was caught off guard by the whirring sound of wind passing through her ears as she flew through the sky at an extremely fast pace towards the King's palace. They were in the Grand Hall in moments...
"Who dares to intrude on my hall?" the King bellowed. "Ah! Sauda! You have returned I see, from your deed. Yes, I know of you. And you brought along travellers and the witch's body. Let me see!" The King arose from his throne and marched towards the frozen ice block.
"Remove the ice so I may see her."

Aruka flinched as the king came towards them, Burr bowed to the king then stood up straight, aware that the prescence of this man was a quite powerful one, "It is a pleasure to meet you your highness! I am Hope Jay, but I would prefer if you called me Burr. This is my friend, Aruka Zu, she was the witch's student, Aruka would have become the new...witch, but Aruka will not continue to fight for evil." Aruka nodded then remembered to curtsy at the last minute.

Tania was surprised when they suddenly arrived in the king's great hall. She flinched, checking herself to make sure she was still all there. It had been the strangest experience she had ever felt. One minute, they're in the deep dark woods, and the next, the king's hall? She glanced around the place with mild amusement. It was a nice palace. She had seen better, though. The grandeur of the place did not surprise her. A thief such as she often saw such fine establishments--well, if they wanted any real money, anyways. The rich and powerful were always the most obviously profitable targets. One merely had to take enough care and planning to get past the hired guardsmen. She had become quite proficient at it, personally. Mmm... perhaps she should come back here later...? No... no! She fortunately caught herself before her mind started wandering too far, You're trying to move past that life, remember?

Mmm... the king's bellow was... impressive, she thought--and she had heard many bellows in her lifetime. Tania did not deign to bow, though. The Nekoan did not bow to Humans. Racism was an unfortunate trait which ran deep in her veins--a trait she sometimes found hard to ignore... especially after some of the things she had experienced previously.

Suddenly, Tania did not think that was such a great idea. Just moments ago, the witch had been decaying--rapidly decaying. With maggots and everything. Tania suddenly found that she had discreetly moved a good many paces back from the group. She was most certainly not planning on getting caught in anything involving creepy small creatures.

"Your majesty," said Chälan, stepping forward, "I chast the ice sp'ell to thwart a dechaying enschant'm'ent--I chan only assu'me of the witsch's dephvising--whisch nearly chonsu'med her whole body bephore anyone chould stop' it. I might use water to melt the ice, but this may cause her enschantment to resu'me its chourse, and the witsch's body would be ghone in mom'ents. I channot say phor certain."

Aruka looked down, "Your h-h-highness, I trained as the witch's apprentice, I think she may have something for decaying in her...lair, it um...well it was in a book I saw once..." Burr sighed and grabbed Aruka's shoulder, "I've seen it as well, it is on the first shelf in her study, but, would you really need to see the body to confirm it?"

He studied the group intently and was drawn to each members' eyes, trying to sense any sort of lying. This groups has done much better than I thought they would have. I may be able to use them for furthur quests, he thought to himself evilly. His Dark Lordship would be most pleased with my progress in his war efforts. "You are right my friends. You may dispose of the wretched hag yourself as you see fit and then join me this evening for a warm supper, all of you. I have business to talk with you," he said with a warm smile on his face. It is quite sad to be losing someone of such great power, but she was growing too powerful for his Lordship.
"Alright?" Sauda said, confused beyond anything and smiled to the group. "Marlo? Is there a way you can teleport her body elsewhere? And Chalan, I think it's okay you if you take the ice barrier off her body once she's teleported."
"I have minimal energy left to spend Sauda, but if Chalan can remove the ice, I can have her out of here before her body can resume its' enchantment."

Aruka and Burr frowned, "But..." Aruka coughed, a voice in her head murmured, The bells...get the bells from her study...and the book.... Aruka looked down then glanced at everyone from under her bangs, "I seem to have forgotten something in the witch's lair, I must go retrieve it soon, particularly very soon...it is of great importance...does anyone have an idea how far this place is from her lair?" Aruka looked at the king, I must as far away from that man as possible!
Suddenly Aruka perked up, Burr stumbled back as she stood up straight and still and proclaimed, "I was under the witch's teachings for some time, I am her heir and would like to take over he position, but...work for these good people to help restore what she destroyed!"
