Nicholas paused, a look of pure amazement and bewilderment on his face as he felt the cool steel of Matsu's blade press against his throat.
"s**t."
He had lost. He could admit that, and while it left a slightly sour taste in his mouth, Nicholas had to admit that it was a ******** awesome training session.
Nicholas then realised that his hair was on fire.
"OH MY SWEET GRIM!"
He ran off, dunking his hair into the water.
"NOOO! MY PANTENE LEVEL BISHOUENEN HAIR!"
He returned, looking very sour, his hair now shorter and more masculine. Nicholas grumbled as he poked at it, its new shortness feeling alien to him.
"I miss my short hair..."

He yawned as he watched Nicholas mumble on to himself. He looked up at the sky and began thinking. 'I wonder...I may have stopped training for a long period of time but, am I still as good as I was? Probably not...After I finish with my training, I'll see just how good I really am.'

"Well..." Nicholas said dryly, still messing around with his hair. "You used to be able to kick my a** with both hands tied behind your back and with your eyes closed, now you have to use untested techniques to beat me."
He shrugged. "But, I have improved a lot since the last war, so I don't know. Maybe you'll be able to take down Kiba and Junichiro if you keep training regularly..."
He struck a pose "As for me, I train everyday now...when I'm not reading manga. Or procrastinating. Yeah..."

"It's true that I've neglected my training..." He stood up and dusted himself off. "Alright then, I'm no longer going to do that. I shall train harder and I will train more. They'll soon see that I am better...I will not let them think that time has passed and that they've moved while I stand still." he said, the last part of that sounding more like something out of a monologue than a reply to someone else's question.
After coming back to his senses, he turned to Nicholas. "Sorry...And by the way, that last one was not untested. I had learned it quite a long time ago. I just haven't had much of a chance to use it in battle." After thinking a bit, he smiled. "Say...Why don't we? We could help each other with our training. I can help you practice your techniques, and you can help me with mine."

Silence. Slowly, the animals in the small gathering became aware of a slight disturbance...something evil was definitely about...
Yet it happened so slowly, and built up like a snail that they weren't aware of what it was, yet felt shivers down their spine anyway.
One particularly brave animal poked its head around the corner, and was greeted with an amazing sight.
Nicholas D. Tenukage was laughing. Evilly. Like a madman, before he slapped Matsu across the hand in a "high 5", shouting.
"You got a fawking deal there!"

"Alright then. Let me just wait a few more minutes so that I can use my shikai again and then we'll train again." he said, smiling. "I guess I could train Teikuumou and the variations of my other techniques...Then again, it might not be needed to train the others that much. I guess Teikuumou will be fine for now..."

And so they trained. They trained long and hard into the night, and the two finished off covered in scars and filled with the knowledge that they had both come out of this, stronger and more wiser than before...
...wait, that's too boring a way to say this...
MUSIC MONTAGE!
Let's get down to business- to defeat the Hollows!
Did they said me daughters, when I asked for Shinigami?
We're the laziest bunch I've ever met
But you can bet before we're through
Matsu I'll...make a man...out of you!
Nicholas' balanced wobbled as he struggled to continue doing upside-down pushups. Naturally, he had no real need to worry, as his feet were tied to the tree branch above him, but with all the blood rushing to his head, it was getting hard to think.
Tranquil as a forest But on fire within Once we'll find our center We're sure to win We're a spineless, pale pathetic lot And we haven't got a clue Somehow I'll make a man out of you
"25...26...27..."
Nicholas was so absorbed into his task, that he failed to notice the small woodland animals hacking away at the string that kept him afloat.
"29...30..."
Thread by thread fell...before suddenly.
"32...s**t!"
Head hits ground. Nicholas gets laughed at.
"Let's just skip to the chorus already..." He moaned, rubbing his head.
Be a man We must be swift as the coursing river
"Run! Run ya b*****d, the rivers beating us! FASTER, FASTER!"
Be a man With all the force of a great typhoon
"...ne, Matsu...ya think Captain Michiko would be willing to attack us continually with her cyclone/typhoon attack?"
Be a man With all the strength of a raging fire
Falconer, inside of Nicholas' head blinked.
Sir...why are you setting yourself on fire?
"MANLINESS! RAAAAAARGH!"
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon
...why are you firing Divine Busters, and Revolver Shoots at the moon?
"Practise."
...what are you going to do if you actually hit the moon and blow it up sir?
"Well, Dragonball Z got along fine without one, and Trigun blew up a hole in the moon, and they stopped giving a s**t one volume after...so I think they'll be no repercussions from my rash actions."
Be a man!~
"And that's how you do a training montage...BITCHES!"
[Song is CopyRight For Disney, or whoever the hell made Mulan. I'm not attempting to earn money or do anything ******** up like that by using the song. It was for amusement purposes. I am most amused.]

Matsu just stared at Nicholas' strange actions. "Where's the music coming from?" he asked, looking around. He shook his head and waited until Nicholas finished.
When Nicholas finally did finish, he noticed how much time had passed. "Perfect. I can finally use my shikai again." Deciding to wait a bit more, in case Nicholas tried to do some other strange thing, he climbed up the tree and hung upside down, doing some exercise to try and improve his stamina.
After getting to 100, he jumped down and looked at Nicholas. "So, wanna practise any of your techniques?"

Nicholas sighed, with the air of an artist, whose work was not appreciated by the un-informed masses.
"Well, I suppose I could get a start on my Divine Buster and Revolver Rifle..."
A flash of blue light and a crackle of electricity later, Nicholas was back in his shikai form, stretching and mumbling to himself.
"When are we going to get bankais damn it..."
He snapped his fingers.
"Start the music."
The final countdooooown!

[Sorry, I've had far too much work. Fortunately, I have no school today, so I can post.>.>Stupid twisted ankle+Interview>.<]
"Everyone gets their Bankai at a different rate. So be glad that you have shikai."
Matsu unsheathed his zanpakuto. "Bite, Kuroi Kiba!" His zanpakuto transformed as usual.
"Instead of wasting so much time by using trying to attack with two waves of reiatsu blades, I could try that last move with only one cross."
"Assai Tsume!" He did it normally this time, only thing was that he had them hit each other and create that large 'X' again. The attack spun around and cut up the trees that were in the way.
"Well, at least this time the attack was stronger, and it held together okay." He let out a sigh as wondered how well he could maintain the attack.

"Hmm..." Nicholas stroked at his cheek with his battle gauntlet, a look of thoughtful thinking on his face.
"Why not fire the blade-cross thingies one at a time? Send out one diagonal at a reasonably slowish pace, and then BAM! Second one comes flying in, propels the whole ******** thing forward, surprises bad guy and HITTANG!"
He paused.
"Alright, if you're not going to take that idea, I frickening will..."

Matsu thought about it. He rejected the idea in his mind because it might not work right.
He heard Nicholas's comment and stood there, a confused look on his face.
"I never said anything..."
He then thought about that comment again. "So...how exactly are you going to do that?"

Nicholas waved his hands impatiently.
"My Dearest Matsu! It is not a matter of how, why or what! One's own ability is limited by one's self! Anything's possible, just as long as you're imaginative enough, and possess the urge to see an attack through to the end, no matter what! Sure, some people call that insanity, but in the end, I'm dining on Hollow and they're in the dirt eating stuff like steak and sake. Whose the mad one now?"
Electricity ran across his body as his reiatsu coursed through him.
"Now then. You see this...this, is my BOOMSTICK!'
He opened his palm. "DIVINE...BUSTER!"
A ball of reiatsu charged before him, swelling in size at an exponential rate, before Nicholas smashed his fist into, releasing a wave of pure reiatsu.
"I love the smell of reiatsu in the morning..."
"See, my problem here is that it takes far too long for the ball of near uncontrollable reiatsu to form. I have to pack as much as I can in before my opponent gets enough time to strike. Considering that most higher up people have friggen SHUNPOs, this complicates things."
Nicholas looked slightly put out.
"I do not want to have to fight an Espada again. One time is enough."

Matsu stood there, with a large sweat drop on the back of his head. 'Dining on hollows...?' he thought.
"You'd still be the mad one..." he said in a whisper.
He saw the attack, and was once again confused with Nicholas's words. "Since when do you smell reiatsu..."
"Anyways, that's a creative way to use an attack. Still, I don't think you'll have to fight an Espada anytime soon."
He began to think of ways to help Nicholas with his attack.
"Can't you try to multi-task? As in, can't you try to charge the attack in your hand while simultaneously dodging your opponent's attacks? Or you could distract him somehow to get enough time to charge it..." he suggested.
