errr.... I found some smallish heels in Little Chili's Lolita Shop on ebay.... but almost EVERYTHING was platforms. The reason the style does this is Japanese girls in lolita try to be taller than men. This is because girls in Japan are all about girl power. Girls in Japan really "hate men" in a sense to some degree and their marrige and birthrate has declined. I read this info somewhere online where they were talking about lolitas in Japan "not growing up" so they don't have to get married. I forgot where I read this. I think I found the link on the EGL community on LJ.

ChiiruChan errr.... Ling Lam's shop orders directly from the factory [and she's from Hong Kong, not Japan, so the mindset isn't quite as relavent I don't think. Most of the shoes in that shop are knock-offs of flats or lower heels produced by Angelic Pretty, Baby and other brands. Honestly, I think it just suits the style better than flats, since it enlongates the legs and adds contrast to the outfit].
I'm not dead sure, but I believe that because of her factory-direct contact, Ling can get the shoes made with custom heel heights as well as length. I can ask the next time there's a group order up and let you know if you'd like. Talia_Speaks is planning to do one group order a month [or possibly every other month] because it means we get a discount and Ling gets huge amounts of business all at once.
I know that several of their styles with heels come in different heights, so I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be terribly hard. It just might take a bit longer for the shoes to get to you.
Also, just to clarify, this is what I mean when I'm talking about height changes made by Ling's factory contact. Most Japanese brand lolita shoes are very much lower than what Montreal and TVK produce.
Examples of knock-off, versus real:
Original Baby Heartbuckle - Adds 4cm in height Ling Lam Heart Buckle - Adds about ~6cm in height
The same thing goes for the Angelic Pretty boots knock-offs:
Original Angelic Pretty boots - Total added height 3cm Ling Lam boots - Total added height ~8.5cm
Also! QCute on LJ runs a shopping service to Secret Shop. They're a company that produces shoes as a "knock off" from Japanese brands. They're actually the same shoes just with a different label and lower price tag.
http://qcute.livejournal.com/
There's a wide variety of styles to pick from and most of them are a third cheaper than the "originals" cost. There are a lot of flats to pick from, including Tea Party flats like Angelic Pretty rereleased recently. (:
Those are really cute in particular, a friend of mine bought them and I hope to do the same before the end of the month.

I'm fairly tall [[5'8"]] and wear heels everyday :]
My lowest pair is 2 inches...and my highest is 5 1/2 inches
I used to be self-concious when I wore them, but if they shoes are cute enough, I don't care if I am 6 foot 1 1/2 inches or not! heart
And besides, heels make your legs look longer and thinner, your rump look better and you have better posture while wearing them!
The only thing I make sure of is to judge how tall a guy is if I'm going on a date...I would feel ackward if I was taller than him then sweatdrop

I have your problem I guess
I'm 5'9
and I sometime don't like wearing platform shoes cause I look like a giant beside my friends +_+
although I do like platform shoes for example the rockinghorse shoes
I would like to get em
but i think i would look weird dressed as a Lolita and being so tall +_+
so I use mary janes and flats more often xD

How about you try getting some over-sized looking mary janes for the same kawaii effect? 3nodding Or maybe wear Japanese style leg warmers with layers+frills with your shoes? They are fairly easy to make even.

Angel of the End How about you try getting some over-sized looking mary janes for the same kawaii effect? 3nodding Or maybe wear Japanese style leg warmers with layers+frills with your shoes? They are fairly easy to make even. Oversized shoes and leg warmers with lolita generally looks incredibly tacky and not at all "kawaii" to be honest. Usually you look like some kind of awkward wannabe anime character and, in the end, absolutely ridiculous. ^^;
Lolita footwear can be very rounded and even clunky [usually better for sweet or gothic than classic], but putting on baggy, loose socks or legwarmers is just overkill when the rest of your outfit is generally smooth and elegant. It doesn't suit the styles very well.
Close-fitting leg warmers [the sort worn over boots in winter to keep your legs warm] can look nice with a winter outfit and keep you warm, however. The loose, baggy shape just really doesn't suit lolita too often, though. It doesn't help that most people who wear leg warmers with lolita model them after the Bodyline "punk lolita" outfits which look like garbage.

Well, the height isn't so much my problem I'm 5'1. I could use some height.
The problem for me is that my feet are super super small (even for my height). They're in this really annoying size that's too big to find shoes in children, and too small to find shoes in adult. Even living in Asia, as I do, I can't find shoes. I always just buy them too big and let my feet slide around all the time. But that's really dangerous with platforms. I usually just stick with Mary Janes.

I like platforms, but I also prefer the classic elegant not platform mary Janes. Look for them, you'll find them. Also some ballerina shoes are a fine option for casual loli, and boots of course. Some not so high heels look perfect. I am tall myself, so I understand.
