The solution to the previous puzzle (How I solved it):Gilgamesh
1.) Higher = FFIX
2.) Gil = he steals 1000 gil from you in Treno, and some gil from you earlier in Alexandria
3.) S = He tells you your treasure hunting rank & tells you his name when you reach this rank
4.) Repeating = appears in Alexandria, Treno, & Daguerreo
5.) Power Belt = he buys this with the money he stole from you, and gives it to you after being caught by Steiner
6.) Daguerreo = last place you see him before he leaves
7.) Alleyway= aka Alleyway Jack, also the first place he picks your pocket

(With Gil, I was actually giving you the answer. biggrin In a letter you find from Enkido(u?), he's addressed as "Brother Gil." Repeating refers to either that or the fact that he's in a lot of Final Fantasies.)
