"I know, it's just that... I have nothing to live for anyway." Erik was on the verge of tears. "He left me nothing, and I want to see him lose everything. My father was in the Army. he was one of the best, he was going to become a General. But then, Krious tried to tempt him in joining Krious to... well, I can't remember what Krious was going to do, but my father said no. Whatever Krious was planning, my father awaited him with a huge amount of soldiers. Krious, and the twisted people who had joined him, were defeated and sent into exile. But when my father came home, Krious was waiting. He.. He found where we lived, and he burned down my home. We tried to flee, but Krious caught up to us, and he killed my father. My father put up a hell of a fight, but there isn't much you can do when you're trying to block a claymore. But instead of leaving it at that, he turned on my mother, and killed her. She was defenseless, but Krious had a bloodlust that nothing would satisfy. And then, Krious killed... he killed my sister." Erik started to cry. "She was only 4 years old! What sick monster would want to do something like that?" Erik couldn't speak, he had collapsed from crying. "That...sick...b*****d..." Erik managed to say between sobs.

Serena frowned, her heart wanting to open up to the kid. Truly, he had gone through a lot and it pained her to see such a thing. But then again, everyone had their problems in life, right? If she were to look at her own story, sure, it wasn't as sad as his, but it still had it's down side, right? She kneeled down and wrapped an arm gently around Erik, looking at him, her golden eyes shining through the shadow her hood created. "Hey... You want to get this guy, don't you? But, you can't do your best unless you're fully healed, right? It wouldn't be a fair fight. So, how about this... Just wait a while before you go out after him. And what it sounds like to me is that this guy comes around and finds you, in his own ways. Next time you find him, you'll be ready, okay?" she asked him, hoping he would agree.

"Yo. Don't be depressed. People take pills for that. Also for insanity. You sound like a good topic for both. Obviously, if this guy is that evil, he's gonna drive you insane. If you don't hang out with nice, normal people every once in a while, you're gonna turn into a nut case." Paania crossed her arms* and walked over to him. He didn't seem to be much older than her, but she was really short, so she had to stand using full advantages of her hoofs to look anything like his age. Or her age, for that matter. But that's not the point.

"Hm. Then again, we're not really nice, normal people. But at least we're better than that raving bloodthirsty rabid lunatic. And I'm sure you agree. Oh, wait. You're against abominations, aren't you? Nevermind, I'm sure you think I'm some sort of freaky lab baby who's only interested in your brain and how to eat it."

((*Or folded. Good god, after half an hour of bashing my head on the keyboard and swearing, I still don't know which one.))

Erik laughed. "I don't hate all abominations, just the ones that attack first. And even Krious's bloodthirsty abominations don't eat brains, that's zombies, if they even exist." Erik turned to Serena. "Well, lucky thing is we're both badly injured, but he can take a hell of a lot more then any normal person. Then again, after everything he's done, he is less then human in my eyes, less then dirt. I guess I should wait, after all, I don't even know his next move. Maybe I should let the fight come to me for a change."

((@clara: I think both work))

Hagedis nodded solemnly. "It's good to see people taking a stand against wretched men like Krious, so many people would let it stand. But you must think of what will happen after. It seems that you are more focused on destruction than creation. Do not let him blind you. Heal, live, and wait. He will come."

Gedis looked towards the forest she had come from earlier. "I know a cave in that forest that is sheltered from harm. If you wish we can camp there. I don't think that the town will be happy to serve us since we've littered it with corpses."

Serena nodded in agreement with everything that was said and smiled when Erik decided to wait. "Well no need for caves, we have a nice residence just on the outskirts of this town that would serve nicely, right Nathan?" she said, looking up at his, her golden eyes zeroing in on his bright blue ones.

Nathan hated when his sister put him in the spotlight like that, but it was true. Why stay in an uncomfortable cave when one had a place to live? "Yeah, we have a place... No need for caves," he said with a nod toward the woman. "And I don't mind the company," he added.

"Anywhere will work, as long as it is protected. As for the town, well, money talks, but I don't have any." Erik shrugged. He needed a place to plan, and a place to rest for the night. Whether or not these people decided to help him or not was entirely up to them. Unlike Krious, Erik did not force anyone to do what they did not want.

"Well, I rather enjoy sleeping on a bed, if you all don't mind," she said with a bright smile on her face. After all the fighting, it was difficult for Serena to ever get a good night's rest unless it included a comfortable mattress, pillows, and a blanket... She had major back problems that plagued her, surprising for a fighter such as her to be able to perform so well...

((I just realized I need to start posting for Krious!))

Krious was in a foul mood. Erik was still alive, despite his continual exorts to kill him. Erik wasn't a great fighter on his own, but he knew what Krious's plan was. Erik was smart enough to tell others, perhaps uniting them against Krious. And that spelled trouble, as Krious's one weaknes was a large group.

((New character alert! I decided we didn't have enough humans.))

"OK! Let's go hijack a night with Serena!" Paania punched the air triumphantly. Yes, today had been a good day. Only problem was...there was someone watching. Her ears perked up and swiveled towards the lamppost a few feet away. Sitting on the bench in front of it was a girl of maybe 15, trying desperately to avoid eye contact.

Marina had only heard a little of the conversation. Just a little! Was that so bad?

Apparently so. She could feel 5 pairs of eyes turning to stare at her, and she gripped her 'walking stick' harder, ready to swing if necessary. Her body tightened, ready to make a break for it if they were strong, and she attempted to shrink. Behind her shield of hair, she peered up at them. Oh god, two of them were boys. Great. That was absolutely fsking great.

Hagedis shrugged, people were strange. Why sleep in a musky cottage when you had fortified, warm cave stocked with all of the comforts of a desert home? Her people would be eternally grateful to find a sheltered cave. It would mean that they wouldn't have to build a rickety tent for the night or even worse, sleep out in the open sand.

However, before she could ponder this enigma further she was distracted by a figure in the shadows. She looked at it intensely and saw the figure tense. She noted that it was armed and seemed to be blinded by hair.

Gedis spread her hands out in an reassuring gesture. "Hello, how's it going? Care to put the stick down?"

Nathan smiled and nodded. "Homes are way better anyways... Especially soft pillows," he commented. After all, he was rather catlike..." But his train of thought of pillows was quickly broken when he, too, picked up on the pair of eyes watching them... "Hm?" he wondered, turning to look...

Serena smiled at Paania's exclamation, but just as fast as it had come, everyone had turned to look at a figure, of which Serena, too, became curious. She looked up at Hagedis when she called over to the person, who now seemed to be holding a walking stick in a very defensive way. "What the heck is going on?" she pondered her thoughts out loud, looking curiously at the person.

"Who are you?" Erik didn't like other people watching. But hey, if it was common knowledge what Erik did, he'd have a crowd following him day and night.

"Um..." Oh. Crap. They're probably totally pissed. Well, I'll try to act like one of those social butterflies and maybe they won't notice the difference. Like hell they won't, but oh well. "I'm sorry for listening in on your conversation. I didn't mean to..." Marina was aware that her acting skills sucked. Also that her voice was getting quieter. She gripped the stick tighter, until her knuckles went white. It was a comfort sort of thing.

Hagedis took a step forward, her arms still spread out in a comforting gesture.

"Come now, we understand. We were just about to find a place to sleep, do you want to come with us?" She intoned in the most comforting voice she could muster. Sadly it was also the voice she commonly used to mesmerize prey and thus sounded like poisoned silk.
