Elros nodded. "He will definitely know what you are talking about," he assured her. "There is nothing he could confuse it with."

At her second question, he chuckled softly, his features softening for the first time since Timaeus had interrupted them. "It has been at least five years, perhaps six," he told her. "King Pen ... or rather, King Estel, as he should be called, his father used to be the magistrate of the Eastland ... but he betrayed his people and was replaced with one of much greater wisdom, who truly cares about the people, and not himself."

He nodded, almost to himself. "Yes ... the people made a fine choice," he smiled softly.



Adanedhel laughed at Feng's eagerness. "It would be best to see her for yourself," he grinned. "She'll be fast asleep already by now, but I'm sure we can head over there tomorrow and see her. She would love to meet you - all of you. Probably especially Kara, but that's just a guess on my part. But at any rate, we should get going to the ranch now ... it's already dark, but if we leave now we might make it back before we have to worry about wolves or anything."

He rose from his seat and looked down at Rose. "Are you going to carry Naida?" he asked her.

Rose giggled. "If she'll let me," she nodded, her eyes sparkling brightly. "Besides, she still has to finish her braid!"

Considering the fact that her hair went nearly to hear ankles, the mermaid still had a long way to go.

"Be careful," Aliya smiled at them, "and don't stay too late."

Elros nodded. "They gave birth to a baby girl only a few weeks ago," he told Lin with a smile. "Amora ... beautiful swan. Both of them have a love for names with meaning, it does not surprise me that they have done so for their own daughter. As to a visit ... yes, you would have to be the one to go see them."

He smiled at her. "Perhaps you should ask your father," he murmured. "Once the palace is complete, perhaps they would even allow you to have a portal there, as you do here and in the Southland palace."



Rose giggled. "Then it's settled!" she beamed. "Off we go, then! Just need to grab my cloak ..."

She smiled at Aliya. "Thank you for dinner yet again," she giggled. "Though I'm sure the boys will have me back tomorrow again."

Aliya laughed. "You know you're welcome any time you like," she beamed. "We'll see you tomorrow then."

Rose turned and headed out to the living room to get her cloak, but Adanedhel was already holding it out for her to take. Since her arms were full, he ended up putting it around her shoulders for her, and even tying it beneath her chin.

"And here we go," he murmured with a warm smile, holding the door open for Feng and Rose.

Elros nodded. "And I'm sure that they would enjoy that very much," he smiled. "They are after all very fond of visiting, and as I recall the four of them spent quite a bit of time together, when they were all four visiting here."

He paused. "Do you plan to spend the night out here with me?" he asked Lin softly. "It is all right if you are, I only recommend that you make sure you will be warm enough ... it is going to be very cold tonight. If not, then let me know when you wish to return to the ranch, I do not want you alone out here at night."

Elros smiled when he saw Lin reaching for her bag. To be honest, he hadn't expected her to remain outside with him all night, but he was not disappointed when she showed her decision.

"I see you brought your friends with you," he chuckled softly. "Perhaps they can be of use ... scouting out around us so that we can 'see' more at once ... but from now on we must be quiet, and speak only if we must."

He put one finger to his lips, then motioned for her to follow him out into the darkness.


It was only a short while later when Adanedhel, Rose, Naida and Feng arrived at the ranch. They'd had a pleasant yet uneventful walk and arrived safely in one piece.

Adanedhel held the door open for the others and called inside, "It's us again!" before motioning for Feng and Rose to head in.

Rose giggled at him as she entered the large ranch house, and she used one hand to hang up her cloak, her other hand still holding Naida carefully.

"Come on in," Haradhel's voice called from the direction of the dining room, where the others were still chatting, though their meal was long finished.

Since Elros didn't mind the mischief makers being along Lin felt she could suppress the urge to scold them for it seemed her butterflies wanted to tag along more and more often as she grew older. They landed lightly on her shoulder and back as she followed Elros quietly (for a human) along side him.

Though he did have a point she did admit, unlike normal butterflies these ones knew what she wanted and were smart (and bribing them with raisins helped).


"It's them again!" Naida called out after Adanedhel since she had never been here before.

She giggled looking up at Rose braid half done, it was getting tiring to try and braiding all of Rose's long hair. She liked that long hair though, she wanted long hair like that (even though technically Naida did have hair as nearly as long as herself).

"Pen and Lothiriel?" Kara looked between Adanedhel and Elrohir, "Did something happen?"

Well obviously something happened but the question was, was what?

Feng stepped in, she wanted to hear this and of course she was going to relay it back to Ryu. She slid into a seat along side her mother, she didn't have to worry about a cloak since she nor Naida felt cold.

"Silly!" Naida told Elrohir, "But that's okay then you don't have to tell us twice."

"Something bigger than having a little girl?" Kara couldn't imagine what could be bigger than that, though of course she had no idea.

"Being the good guys and then becoming a King and Queen because they were very good!" Naida replied as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, "But you're supposed to tell us how that happened."

Feng giggled, in fact she looked like she was going to break out into fits of laughter and fall off her seat. She was grinning from ear to ear and her shoulders were shaking.
