For his part, Zhane found himself a bit overwhelmed as he was led into the oddly-shaped building. He'd never seen it before on this street, or known it had lurked just around the corner from the concrete jungle of businesses and streets.
Maybe there was easily-found magic in the world, and he'd just become too disenchanted to look for it...
His eyes were dazzled both by the setting and the decor as he remained in place for a moment, feeling intimidated. This was one of those places that, as his father would put it, made him feel like he was spending a fortune just standing in it.
Realizing Nani was waiting on him, however, broke the spell as he cleared his throat.
"Thank you..." he said to the woman at the podium, and moved to follow the blonde-haired woman, his hand tightening just a bit on Nani's.

As they reach their table, Tinania smiles as she takes a seat. Looking up at the waitress she nods to her "We would like the dessert menu please." her voice almost sounded like she was singing, but that is what the elven language was all about. With a nod of respect to the older lady, she turns her head back towards Zhane.
"I hope this isn't a bit over the top, I remember my stepfather telling me the story of bringing my mother here. So I tracked the place down after you asked me out." a small blush forms across her face as she looks down at her lap.
She really just wanted this to be a perfect night, one Zhane would never forget.

He smiled, blushing a bit as well...he must have looked like a kid being dragged somewhere new for the first time, all starey-eyed and bewildered. In many ways, he supposed he probably still was.
"No, no its fine." he assured her. "Just not what I'm used to, is all. And I don't think that's a bad thing." saying so, he flashed her a grin from his side of the table.

Tinania chuckles before she shakes her head "You shouldn't have told me that, now I will want to spoil you all the time." in a teasing manner, she looks up at the waitress as she comes back with their dinner menus. Taking her own, she sets it down as she looks around the place.
She had to admit, it was very beautiful. Like most of elven history and cites, it seems to be almost a fantasy world. Looking back to Zhane, she watches him for a moment before she chews on her bottom lip "Zhane, have you ever wonder that it wasn't just luck that we were suppose to meet?" she knew the question was out of no where. But it was true, ever since she met Zhane in person she felt as if she known him forever.

He looked up from the menu at her and cocked his head a bit, seeming to think it over, and, at length shrugged. "I couldn't say." he said at last. "I mean....does seem a little strange everything fell into place so well, huh?" he added with a chuckle that tried not to sound a bit awkward.
"Not that I'm complaining, mind you..." He wasn't....complaining was the LAST thing on his mind tonight, in fact. It had been a good evening, which, momentary mood lapses aside, seemed to only be getting better. He hoped that the only problem the two of them would come away with would be his inability to translate the menu when all was said and done.

Tinania nods as she looks over the menu, her eyes settling on the honey cakes. They came drizzled with light powder sugar, and on the side a bowl of vanilla ice cream topped with in seasoned berries. The dessert alone made taste buds dance, and that is what she was looking for.
Setting her menu down, she leans a little closer towards Zhane. Pointing to the dessert she is having, she looks at him "This is what I am having. If you like, I will order it for you also. I promise its rather good." she pauses as a soft tune starts to play coming from the small orchestra in the corner.
She knew the song, it was the Elven Lullaby her mother use to sing to her. Common music, yet a beautiful song to dance to. It was based on a story where two lovers would send a bird across the lands to each other. The small bird would then sing this lullaby to the lovers, until at last they met.
Closing her eyes a smile creeps over her lips as she starts to hum the song.

He eyed what she'd pointed at, his eyes skimming over the description. Honestly, she could have been suggesting anything right now and he would have found himself agreeable to it.
"Sure, that sounds...." he trailed off as she began to hum, lifting his eyes immediately from the menu. Her voice seemed to mesh with the music, soft and exotic as it lilted from one note to the next in the unusual melody.
Giving her his full attention, he simply stopped and listened for a moment.

Tinania lost in her humming, as well as the song didn't realize that Zhane was watching her. Glancing up for a moment, she blinks as her eyes lock with his. Blushing a deep rose, she looks away from him as she shakes her head "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that. I mean, I wasn't trying to draw you away from the menu." looking down at her lap, she felt the blush rising even more before she found she was very embarrassed.

He blinked at her reaction and then shook his head, laying the menu down to reach across the table and place a hand on her cheek to try and reassure her.
"Oh hey, no....no, you weren't distracting me." he insisted, offering her a smile. "I was just listening, is all...its very pretty."
To see her react, one might have thought she had a bad voice or something...

Closing her eyes, she smiles a little before she turns her lips towards his palm. Giving his palm a soft kiss, she opens her eyes to look back at him "I forget that my voice is enticing when I sing." lifting her hand, she places it over his as she takes a deep breath.
As the waitress walks up to them, she smiles between at them both before she looks to Tinania "So what will you two be having this evening?" her voice was soft, and also very enticing as Tinania.
Tinania blinks as she looks up at the waitress then chuckles "We will be having the Honey Cake, with the seasonal berries and cream." looking back down at Zhane, she was glad he chose what she pointed out. She knew he would love the honey cake.
As the waitress writes down the two desserts she slips, she looks at her smiling "A great choice, your meals will be coming out to you in about thirty minutes. So please feel free to dance, or enjoy the upstairs balcony until then. The moon is full, so there is a lovely view of the forest tonight." with a bow she turns away from them, leaving them both to do as they please.

The elven lilt of their voices was almost as melodic as Nani's singing had been and, though he did not understand a word of what they were saying, listened raptly anyway. For all he knew, they could have been discussing the end of the world, and he didn't think it would have phased him.
When the waitress retreated, he favored Tinania with an inquisitive look, and a bit of an awkward smile. He said nothing, but his look told her all she needed to know.
So, what now?

Tinania glances around, her teeth running across her bottom lip for a moment. Looking back towards him, she chuckles as she takes his hand "Feel like going to the balcony and just watching the sky for a little bit?" she found this more interesting then dancing at this point.

Rising from where he sat, he gave her hand a squeeze. "I'd love to." he told her. He wasn't sure if he was being offered an out from dancing or not, but if he was, he appreciated it. He wouldn't have wanted to end an otherwise-pleasant evening by stepping all over her.
Drawing near her again, his hand slipped out of hers to put itself around her shoulders instead. "What was that song you were humming?" he asked as they started toward the stairs.

Tinania relaxes as she moves with him through the forest of tables "Well the song was actually based off an old elven tale. Back when the elves pretty much were fighting each other. There was these two elves, one a wood elf. The other was a high elf, both madly in love with each other. But because of their different races, they were not suppose to be together. Their people foreboded it, in fact they were both watches all the time. Well in order for them to let each other know they loved each other, they wood send these doves to one another." pausing she looks at him as she shrugs.
"The two doves would sing to the lovers, then in turn the loves would sing a tune back to the doves. It went on like this for a very long time, until finally they ran away. No one knows what happen to them, other then the fact they knew they were together." looking down, she chuckles before she pauses by the door that leads up to the second floor.
Turning to look at Zhane, she lifts her hand to run it lightly across his cheek "When ever you have a chance, grab a book on Elven History. I think you would rather enjoy it."

He took in the story, and then at her suggestion, he nodded. "I think I might have to. Just when I think I've got a handle on the world, a whole new part of it opens up I haven't even touched yet." The ijiuo chuckled in a futile sort of way.
It was frustrating sometimes, wanting to see and learn everything. Nani herself was an entire yet-unexplored wing of his life....the customs and ways of her people added many winding and confusing corridors to her.
Then again, at least she knew what she was.
He leaned in, brushing a kiss over her forehead before placing a hand on the door's handle, easing it open and holding it for her so that they could ascend the stairs.
