Reno waves his hand. "Everyone. People at the harem, their mates, random strangers walking down a street. I just want ta shout ta sky that I actually got the one I was after." Staring at the angel for a moment he noticed that he seemed a bit unnerved. Gently stroking one of Val's earwings he smiled. "Ya see, this is why I asked. I CAN keep my mouth shut."
((Bali: *stares at Reno* You can?!
Reno: Ya can just shut up!
Sorry I took so long to respond, hun. You know the problems I was having got most of them fixed now. smile Btw...did you draw that pic yet? wink ))

(( No I haven't! I want to but this week has been unbelievably busy. Good busy, but still busy! xD
I'm glad most of them were fixed... I can imagine how upset you were. By the way, I poked around the WoW site and decided that Val would make a good Night Elf Hunter. XD They have cats and everything. Not sure how he'd like having his wings clipped though. ))
"I don't want you to hide anything, Reno." The problem was, he seemed stuck choosing between two extremes. There were pros and cons to both. If they said nothing, he could have Reno all to himself. Selfish thought, but it was true. But they would also be hiding it. Sneaking around behind everyone's backs. He liked his isolation and privacy, but such deception? Maybe he was used to doing that as well... he was so very good at hiding within his own thoughts. The other option, while embarrassing and in his opinion undeserved... well, who wouldn't want someone that happy just to be around them? He just did not want Reno to be that excited then eventually (inevitably?) bitterly disappointed. He smiled faintly; he was still blushing just a little.
He wanted to know... "If you were always so interested... why did you wait?" Was it a horrible thing to say? He did not look the demon in the eye when he asked.

Reno glanced down at his feet. He was rather glad that Val wasn't looking him in the eyes. Truth be told he was rather embarrassed by part of the answer to that. "Well...we were enemies when we first met. Noticed ya back then but couldn't do anything 'bout it ya know? Then ya had a mate. Well then... ummm... it was just that... ummm... well I didn't think ya'd want me. Ya are so smart and gorgeous and I'm just a street rat so..." he finished the last part as quietly as he could.
((Yes! Hunter Val!! Make him on Uther. smile ))

... xD Val never actually had a mate. Boyfriend once... but he stopped it before it went anywhere. Then he had a fling... but um, that was it. He has a serious complex. xD ))
The first part made sense, though that had been a very long time ago. He frowned and glanced back up to see Reno looking at his feet. He had no trouble hearing the last. It just seemed... out of character perhaps... that Reno wouldn't go for it anyway. He had always seemed so carefree and confident that this kind of answer just did not seem possible. If he weren't so serious, Val may have mistaken it for a joke. Could he really have that low of an opinion of himself? Or was he merely putting the angel on a pedestal?
"Would it upset you if I told you that you were wrong?" Wrong... most of his rationale was wrong. Not all of it. Once upon a time, being enemies would have been enough. But later... the worst Reno could expect was rejection based on the same reasoning he had left Nyoko and Vladmir, that Val wasn't good enough. But not them, never them. Not one of them.
Now... perhaps he was just tired of arguing with everyone. At least if worse came to worst Reno could do what he must to survive.

((Uther is the server I play WoW on. It's a pve server. Player vs Enviroment. I don't like pvp.))
Raising his head slowly the demon studied the angel in front of him. He titled his head slightly to the side and thought for a moment, "Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, yo. Depends though...on what ya think I'm wrong about."

"Points two and three. I was seeing someone for a time, but he really... I broke it off. He deserved a normal life. Then I met someone else..." 'Met' really was not the correct word to use. The angel darkened briefly and cleared his throat. "But he had family to worry about. That's it."
He dropped his eyes again. "And... well, I'm not. I'm not smart." If he was, he would have figured out how to change his messed-up life. He would have prevented certain things from happening. "I'm not beautiful." Unless you are talking about wild animals. But many people will look at a tiger for example, melt somewhere deep inside, and attach all kinds of unrealistic ideals to them, that they are cute, cuddly, and huggable. They are not, and if faced by a human would more likely than not try to eat them.

Reaching out Reno gently cupped Val's chin making the angel look at him. "Ya are smart and I think ya are beautiful. I love ya hair," he murmed as he gently ran his fingers through it, "your lips," he leaned forward and kissed Val warmly, "your hands," he picked up the metal one and kissed it, "And all the other parts I hope ya'll let me see. I also think ya brood too much for ya own good but no one's perfect."

(( I don't blame you. It's a game and everyone should be having fun, not picking on each other. ))
"Right..." He had not intended to imply anything, just to straighten out the facts.
He blinked as the other took hold of his chin. Reno was only repeating things he had already said before, but words aren't always enough to sway the beliefs of another. It was the consistent tenderness in his touch that was wearing him down, not to mention admitting things about himself that no one could have known. Maybe he did not believe everything Reno said, but the fact that Reno believed it made a difference. Val simply (or rather complexly) could not do anything but deny it, at least verbally. And as the demon pointed out, in his all-too-often brooding. "I'm sorry, I can't help it. If it makes a difference, you've done a great job of distracting me from it today." He smiled faintly, lightly squeezing the other's hand with his metal one, and leaned closer to kiss him.

((My WoW account is all fixed. They rolled it back so that I lost some of the quest I did but got all my characters, gold and gear back. *does a happy dance* Hurry up and make Val on Uther. I can help you power through easily now that I've got my 80 back. And wear is the pic of our boys? wink ))
Reno's soft chuckle was muffled by the angels kiss. He knew that Val wasn't going to believe him right away. It might take months or years to get the angel to truly believe him. He was planning to do his best though. Val had no idea how stubborn Reno could be when he put his mind to it. He would find out soon enough.
"Going back to what I asked before. I'll try to just talk to Schuldig about us. He'll already know...nothing ya or I can do to keep that mindreading peeping tom out of it. Oh yeah...Yohji might figure it out too...he's amazingly perceptive...comes from being a detective for so long. So I'll talk to those two but only them. Ya get your privacy and I can blab. Sound good?"

(( Oh right on! Now if only Gaia would fix problems, including hacks and such, as quickly! Hehe, oh I won't be on WoW anytime soon. I'd need a gaming computer for that. My laptop would hate on me if I tried it on this one. Our pic looks GREAT so far... in my mind. xD;; ))
Telepaths... Valentino was unaccustomed to dealing with people who had such abilities. If they would know anyway, it probably would not hurt to talk with them about it. Again, he was thinking as if they were trying to hide. The angel did not really want that; he had things to hide that were far more awkward and even deadly. "Do what you think is appropriate. It's all right," he nodded. Yes, he was pretty much giving Reno his blessing to blab as much as he wanted. But to ask him to act differently than he normally would, would be asking him to be something he was not.
"I have to wonder though what your colleagues in the Turks would think." Though Rufus had an idea, they had yet to discuss it. He had thought it really was none of his business. But maybe it was, to some degree. Perhaps the Turks already knew, at least as much as Rufus knew.
(( All things considered, I'll bet Val is a 'natural' at keeping his thoughts from 'leaking' out. Someone would have to deliberately scan him... xD; ))

I know you're a private person so I understand ya know wanting to shout it to the skies. As for the Turks...don't see much of them. You see one of them more than I do. What'cha think Rufus will think?"

Val leaned into Reno's touch before moving closer to lay his head comfortably on the other's shoulder. It was the angel's turn to consider for a moment. It hardly mattered that Rufus had changed his business practices over the years. In the end he was still Rufus. "I think... whatever we do, Rufus will make it work to his own advantage, if possible."

Val blinked, an ear twitched. There was no possibility that he had misheard the demon. There was also little chance that Reno would miss the heat rising in his face. Nooo... not Rufus. "Ah..." Change the subject, change the subject. "I'm sure we could come to an understanding." Was that response too vague?

Reno stared at the angel for a moment before he started to laugh. He couldn't help it. The other man looked like he was going to faint. His face had just turned the same color as Reno's hair! "If ya could just see your face! I wasn't being serious." he said as he stroked Val's hair.
